I have a few VV/VW devices with Kanger tanks that share the space with my Reo Mini. Having said that, I get a little lazy with maintaining the Reo. I just fill and vape. I started noticing that the vape was not real efficient with the Reo. But I kept chuggin'. filling and vaping. The yuck tasting vape was getting worse. I was thinking maybe the year old RM2 had lived it's life expectancy. Fast forward to about 3 weeks or maybe 4 weeks later, it occurred to me that just maybe the cotton wick could use replacing (yikes) OMG the wick had pretty much disintegrated !!! It was just a mushy puddle of gunk !!! Got the RM2 all cleaned up, dry burned the coil, made new cotton wick, and HOLY COW, the Reo is like it was brand new !!! I vow to change the wick weekly from here on out ! It's all in the wick folks !! Keep your wick new and clean, the Reo wont let you down. So happy to have my Reo back as the leader of the pack in the vape family.

Yep. And it's not like I'm a new Reo user... I just sort of got lazy after I bought a few Kanger tanks and a few vv/vw box mods (over the past year or so) So I did know better. Changing the wick often is super quick since there is little to no cleaning of the atty required. No doubt if my Reo was the only mod I was using it would have occurred to me much quicker to maintain my wick often :)

ReadyXWick is the answer.

^^^...agree, if you don't want to rewick/recoil for weeks to months...^^^

Most of my Reos run RxW now... some have been going for as long as 3+ months on the current build in them, and I use them 24/7. With a little maintenance occasionally, RxW and Kanthal can go on and on and on.

Since I run a dedicated joose in each of my Reos, even cotton wicks can last a surprisingly long time in mine, even with my very long lung hits. But how long depends on which joose. I don't run much in the way of sweet jooses... but those that do run fruits, bakery, candies, deserts, etc especially will be rewicking fairly often if they want to keep their quality of vaping high. :2c:

I rebuild coils and rewick with rayon on a cycle weather they need it or not. I've got this routine down where I'll do it right after the reo baths. I'll bathe the grands every two weeks, I got this OCD thing about keeping them clean. I used to bathe them every week, but then I stopped that and changed it to every two weeks, I'm always wiping them down and removing gunk off them often. When I bathe the grands I'll toss the coils and clean the atomizers too, dry everything up and rebuild, but I bathe them separately so that I can vape the other one while its partner gets all cleaned and rebuilt.

I'm not hip with the RXW stuff but you should look into it, a lot of people do love it, especially if you don't like changing wicks. I rolled my own cigs. Wicking is reminiscent and a meditative act for me and I re-wick once a day or every other day. Takes 10 seconds or something stupid like that and my juice always tastes class A.

Same here. The Fire n' Ice concoction that I vape gunks up a wick pretty fast. Changing wicks is quick, easy and provides that fresh new taste every time.

Y'know it's funny, but I've developed different regimes with different setups. It's almost ritualistic.

One mod has a derringer and is wicked with RxW. It comes with me on my work day and vapes all day long - it's a dependable, no fuss machine and I swap out juices in it regularly. It's like my 'reflexive' vape. Another blinged out grand has a Mephisto on top and I use KGD. It only runs one 'exotic' juice and I like rewicking it daily - don't need to, I just like to. I'm also constantly experimenting with builds on it, never with the Derringer setup. Other setups are in between the two in terms of fussing and attention.

I suppose, to harken back to a darker 'hobby', it's like smoking cigarettes during the day and a pipe at night (not that I did). Just goes to show the depth of vaping and the range of the reo.

What build do you sport in that Derringer? What's the kitty's derriere build bro? :)

For me, it's a dual twisted 28g, 1/16", 2mm RxW, netting .35ohms. I use the smaller RxW due to my paranoia about the short Derringer cap.

It's also about the juices I run in it - less exotic and lower nic for my midday vaping, which is my power-vaping time.

You're gonna love the D, sloth - everything I liked about the Odin plus Nuppin'-like flavour.

That's exactly what I want to hear. I expect some of my attys will head to the classies when the D's arrive (or not--vapocalypse prep)

Oh, I think the D will fit into the rotation just fine. You've got a good collection with the RM2, Odin, and Nuppin' - no need to shed any, IMHO (but then I'm staring at more atties than I could hope to buy reos for).

It's a great age for vaping.

Agreed, I want to keep at least one of each atty - but I have 2 RM2s and 2 Odins, so depending on how the kitty treats me I may sell one of each. The Nuppin stays - for sure :)
