I have been strictly vaping since Feb 18, 2011. And so far I am surprised to find that cigarette smoke doesnt bother me. I dont even seem to notice it. Course I am just starting to get a little sense of smell back. I guess sooner or later it will bother me and I will try to remember not to be an old nag about it. I just tell people I havent had a tobacco cigarette since Feb 18 and leave it at that unless asked questions and then do my best to answer.

I think the hardest struggle I've had with recruiting people to the e-cig cause is the cost. Even though I can prove that the startup fees are less than cigarettes, people still don't want to make the swap. They either feel that it takes too much effort, or is still too expensive because they smoke from pack to pack. I was thinking about getting a few starter kits for the relatives around the holidays, but I'm worried that they will not appreciate the gifts and put them to waste because they don't like ordering things online. I guess my main struggle is that the malls and gas stations charge too much for the e-cig products and I don't see any improvements in that area anytime soon.

Honestly on a tight budget and trying to decide if this don't work can I still afford my smokes is a factor with some people! It was for me! My inlaws bought me and the wifey our 1st mall kit! If they would have told me about it I probably wouldn't have bought 1 with the lack of success other methods have such as nic patches, gum and cold turkey!
I had heard of them but never seen one in use! If I could have took a drag on 1 then it might be a dif story!

I guess I was lucky. My co-workers and I all switched at the same time so we'd have our own support group. It's a larger workplace and people from other departments ask us about it all the time and whether or not e-cigs have helped us stop smoking.

We simply let the ones who ask know how we're feeling and how we don't miss our analogs. More and more people are switching every day.

I think I've convinced my mother and aunt to try the e-cig! They're probably reading through the forums as I type hehe. I brought my eGo over to my moms last night and she likes it alot! Though it seems that my fluid was a little strong for her (this seems to be a trend with all of the women in my family). I have been telling everyone in every other forum a frequent about it. I have been informing everyone of my smoking friends about it and I am planning to bring it over to their houses when I get the rest of my flavors in the mail.

I plan on telling everyone I know about it by informing and educating them on a much better decision this is than smoking.

But I agree with the OP. To me anyways, my wanting to quit helped out ALOT. I think this is especially true because I really don't vape hardcore unless I am craving a smoke. It's a wonderful crutch! This might very well change when I get those 9 other flavors I ordered (I am even thinking about ordering MORE! what is wrong with me haha!)

Yea, but we're not telling people they have to quit. That's the beauty of this. You can still get your nic. fix, at the fraction of the price.

Yea, I know. I remember about a year ago someone telling me about ecigs and I gave them "that look" too. I thought it was the most idiotic thing I ever heard.

I handed out "that look" myself. Live and learn.

I have gotten one family member on vaping, and she loves it. One to try it but she never sticks with it past a day. One who uses it to cut down cigarette consumption by half.

1.5 out of 3 isn't bad. Since they are all using Ego's I got them its not the device or the juice its just a matter of some people like it and some people don't want to like it. The one who vapes full time LOVES it. I think the one who smokes and vapes is just looking for the perfect flavor.

edit: I didn't sale any of them on ecigs they all wanted to give them a try though I think for different reasons.

I've only managed to get one person to start vaping.

I've got my uncle to order a riva 510, but he hasn't called me since he got it, so i need to see how he is doing with it...

it's hard to convince people because there is a lot to learn about them. they are really really confusing at first when you are just reading about them.

I plan on making some videos explain how simple they actually are. since most people are seriously confused about them in the first place.

Sadly to say, I cant tell you how many people I have hooked up with e-cigs and not one of them has quit analogs.Hopefully one day some of them will finally get it!

I think she had the novel idea that they would be EXACTLY like cigarettes. Ya know, taking 10 or 15 drags consecutively with a flavor that's spot on with a real cig's flavor. Because it fell short of her expectation, she wrote it off as a gimmick. I've even given her suggestions on how to improve the e-cig experience, but it has fallen upon deaf ears.

I got my first e-cig as a Christmas gift (a 501 from efoxecigs) from one of those die-hard ex-smokers. He asked me to try it as he was concered for my health. I did, with no plans to quit. I took too my e-cig like a duck to water and haven't smoked since. I don't miss the smell or taste at all. I have dived in with both feet and now own an eGo T and about 18 different flavors of e-juice (with more on the way!) to suit my mood. It would be easier to convert smokers if there was a cheap disposable that we could add (less then $5) or if we could get one as a sample with large orders. Maybe with the web address on it to intice people to head the website to shop or for more info. It seems like a great way to make new customers. All of my smoking friends are interested in my e-cig but are scared to spend their cig money all at once for something they may not like. My juice flavor choice is not really what most people expect when they try mine. I vape spearmint and cinnamon and they are still expecting something that tastes like tobacco. Cheap or sample disposable would really increase awareness in smokers.

I give up trying to get people to try it, they are either very interested or just listen to me and then let the subject drop...their loss is the way I see it...
As a smoker I was ALWAYS looking for a way to quit but didn't want the painful withdrawal symptoms.... seems like you have to want to quit before you will listen about the ECig, if someone is happy spending the money and does not want to quit they won't be interested in them... plain and simple

So my dad will be 78 in May and hes been smoking since he was a young teen. I always told him I'm never going to smoke, but one day all hell broke loose and the rest is history. I saw him for dinner last night and told him I had quit because of this great disposable that I found at my corner store and let him take a hit. Hes actually owned one, I think he still does, but when I asked him why he didn't make the switch he said they cause cancer. LOLOLOL! WTF?!

I think he might have gotten a wiff of wither Tobacco industry propaganda or of the dangers of PG. In either case Im now on a mission to compile as much information as I can and to find a perfect juice I think hell like and commit to visiting him a couple times a week to swap out his empty tanks / cartos or whatever it is that will satiate him.

Honestly now that I got it, I keep wondering why I didn't do this sooner! I love not having to take a shirt out of the closet and smell it first to see if it passes the I can wear it test... :/
