Leaving liquid in cartomizers?

Tried looking for a topic for this already, but only found ones related to attys. Is there any problem leaving a cartomizer filled with liquid over time (a week or two?). I'm starting to find myself filling up cartos because I want to taste new juice, so I end up leaving a near filled carto sit for days (now entering weeks).

Is there any downside to this, other than perhaps the juice losing flavor or balance? I assume I'd need to ensure the carto is wet enough before I puff on it again to prevent burning, but has anyone else experienced technical issues leaving a full carto sit?

As long as you keep the "condoms" on the ends so the juice doesn't evaporate, they should be fine. I've had a few cartos I've left filled and capped for several weeks when I got hooked on a new flavor and they still worked just fine. I don't know if there's a diff between PG and VG, though. I use low VG (usually 80PG/20VG). I don't know how well high VG liquid would hold up in a carto over the same time period, or if there's any noticeable difference.

I've done the same, and haven't noticed a problem. It might be safest to store them on their side for long-term, rather than vertically? I don't know if the liquid would pool if it was left one end up. This might be more of a thing for DCC, since they have more vertical length of coil.

I've seen pics of people with dozens/hundreds of loaded cartos stored end-up on ECF. Some of them will know, I am speculating.

That is a really good question and I am interested in the responses you get. I wouldnt think there would be a problem with PG like TVC70 said but with high VG, i have heard there can be a problem with bacterial accumulation.

I wasn't aware of that, but I was wondering if high or pure VG might start to thicken or "coagulate," for lack of a better term, under these circumstances. I just don't have the experience with VG to know.

Good to know and thanks for the responses! Sucks that I am currently using 100% VG juice, so hopefully nothing goes weird. If anyone has any other experiences, would love to hear 'em, but it seems like a non-issue.. Whew!

I do fill my cartos once a week, it's like a routine i have, fill all my cartos on Sunday, and use them during the week, so far never experienced any problems on it, but i do leave the rubber condoms on it!
Never noticed that they were dry even after 2 or 3 week after i fill them!

This may sound dumb, but will juice still steep if u leave it sit in a carto for weeks? And what about if u add PGA to ur juice, won't that keep it from getting funky?

My liquids are primarily VG, with PGA added to thin. The only PG is in the flavorings. I have found that after the filled cartos sit for a few weeks, the flavor gets muted and loses some of it's pop. This is with 510 Boge cartos, dual coil cartos, and Volt 808 style cartos.

Make sure they are air tite . I had a couple cartos sitting in a box without the condoms and ruined them . The juice tasted so bad and stale Also turned the inside of the carto black .WIth condoms your good for under a month but without they will be bad in a few days .

Sure is . What does the filler look like when you go to use it again ? the ones i mentioned didnt have the mouthpiece in either since i always use drip tips .

I would guess it's no big deal since all kinds of vendors sell pre-filled cartos, and you know that crap has been sitting on a shelf for months before someone buys and uses them.

I just pulled out my carto full of Cherry cigar flavor you gave me, havn't touched it since thanksgiving.
Popped the cap off, clean as a whistle, but I double cap all my cartos.
I think it has gotten smoother.

I vape a single juice till the carto dies (Uaually my daily vapors)
if I want to switch it up, I make sure the wet one is filled, then put the rubber caps on it, and put it in the fridge for no more than a couple days. I never have more than 2 wet cartos at a time. one on my ecig, and one in the fridge.

I sampled a couple juices when I visited my buddy 3 weeks ago- filled cartos while I was there & since then they have sat for 3 weeks, without caps or any covering at all. I popped one in (with no top-off, since I don't have those juices) just now & it works/tastes fine. No problems here.
