So....my lemo was my #1 rta, until I got the subtank mini and delta 2 (although I haven't tried the delta 2 yet, but have heard very good things about it). I have been sad, because I have put my lemo to the side, because my newer RTAs have more airflow. I would vape my lemo most of the time between 25-30 watts, and could get it up to about 38 watts without a dry/burnt hit. Anything over 40 would give me a dry/burnt hit, which is still impressive. (with my old wicking method)

Long story short, I decided to drill out my airholes on my lemo. I found another guy that had already done this, so I followed his bit sizes. He claims that he now vapes his lemo around 70-80 watts without dry/burnt hits. I had my wisdom teeth out about 3 days ago, so I can not vape as I usually do (in fear of getting a dry socket) so I have had to barely hit my tanks to vape. I hit the lemo, after modding it, last night, at 40 watts with a wussy vape and no dry/burnt hit at all. I can't wait to actually vape like I usually do and see how high in wattage I can go. By the way, I am trying something new and using Drip Trippers pancake wicking method on this as well, and a 0.78 build.

So here are the pics, with the sizes, if anyone wants to do this. It took me about 15 minutes:

4 External air holes (pic 1) - 3/32 drill bit
Vertical stem shaft air hole (pic 2) - 1/8 drill bit
Vertical stem 4 air holes (pic 3) - 3/32 drill bit

Did it to mine months ago, there is a huge airflow improvement. But i used a round file attached to a drill. The key to better airflow, is making stem 4 air holes as large as possible.

Mounting the coil a bit higher takes a better advantage of better airflow, but you lose some flavor in the process on high/max vg juice.

Add me to the list of satisfied Lemo modders. :)

I only did the 5 holes in the stem (4 x 3/32", 1 x 1/8"), leaving the outside 4 alone (black anodized is too pretty to mess with). I'd guesstimate about a 15-20% increase in airflow, a lot more vapor and warmth (which I like), and slightly more flavor with Wakonda. The bubbles are more frequent, so the proof is in the pudding that the vapor is more dense. I'm hoping that the added airflow will reduce the frequency of having to rewick Wakonda, which gets gunky faster than any of my other juice. Overall a good upgrade. Not night and day difference like drilling my Orchids, but definitely worthwhile.

I just want to mention this for anyone considering modding their Lemo - the air holes on the outside are way less "restrictive" than the stem, so tackle that first. I had removed the airflow nut from one, but on one particular build, hadn't wicked that well, wanted higher vacuum to finish out the tank. I had to cover three of the four outside holes with scotch tape before any reduction in airflow was noticed. YMMV.

Sorry for the late response, as.i did not see any replies at first. I haven't taken a full lung hit yet because my doctor told me to wait 1 more week for my mouth to heal.

I did hit it at 40 watts today with incredible flavor and vapor production. No dry hits and no burnt taste. I have not noticed any decrease in flavor since I drilled out everything, it still taste amazing.

I also left the air control ring around it in case I ever want to close it off some, so that might be an option for others maybe wanting to try this but have read negative reviews on flavor. Again I have not noticed any flavor loss.

The drilling mods are definitely worth it. I wanted something with that would keep up with the wattage and airflow of my veritas that was more suitable for the road. The positive post and base went quickly through 4 operations on the manual mill. It is a bit hard to see in the picture but I can view the inside of the center bore from the bottom. I need a couple of special end mills to do a 5th and 6th operation. I think it will be right up there with the veritas at that point. Already happy with it as is.

Any update with a full lung pull? Is it worth it?

I was going to do this but after seeing this post on Reddit I figured it may not be worth it. He believes the center pin is the main restriction (just like Kayfun unfortunately).

I am not sure about it but to me the air flow is wider than Lemo 1 or STM... I only use it half open for restrictive lung hit... fully open the AFC and I think it is a full lung hit... so far no problem for me.
