I recommend the AW 18650 2600mah battery for which the Precise was built around which is about 2.650 inches or 67.30 MM. You can also run the Ultrafires or trustfires in most units, if it's really tight, you can replace the stock .100 oring in the bottom of battery chamber with a .070 o-ring of which i now have some and have been shipping them with units starting last week. The Ultrafires and trustfires are about 67.65 or 2.665 inches long give or take (they vary alot).

Hope that helps!

AW P18650 - 26 SPECIFICATIONS:

* Constant Voltage : 3.7V
* Capacity : 2600mAH ( rated at 0.2C discharge 4.2V - 2.8V @ 25℃ )
* Operating Temp. : Charge 0 to 45℃ / Discharge -20 to 60 ℃
* Max. Charge Rate : 2.6A ( ambient temp. 25 ℃ )
* Max. Discharge Rate : 5.2A ( ambient temp. 25 ℃ )
* Dimensions :18.52 X 68.16mm ( +/- 0.3mm )

Regardless of the measurements, as David stated, the P18 was designed around the AW 18650 2600mAh batt.

If folks have the AW 18650 2200mAh (button top) I am pretty sure flipping it end for end so the negative is towards the atty, will work as well. Some folks are doing this on the P16s with IMRs. No danger to the unit as it doesn't care where pos is in relation to the PV, as no circuitry is involved. Current just needs to flow.

I thought 18650s were supposed to be 65mm long? Doesn't the 18 stand for the diameter, the 65 for the length, and the 0 mean it is cylindrical? Or are those just rough guidlelines? Am I crazy for expecting battery manufacturers to follow their own specifications? Did I just make this stuff up in my head? Is any of this really happening? And don't get me started on their MAH ratings...

Sorry, batteries are the part of vaping that I find most frustrating (well, other than getting a bad batch of atomizers - LOL)

Don't get frazzled, Frazzled!

The battery length and girth is as stated without protection circuitry (18 x 65 mm) With it added the batt is close to 68 and that is pretty much common to most batts., where the 18650 is concerned.

AW produces consistency, other mfrs produce batteries. It is not uncommon for certain batteries to vary in length, even from the same mfr or otherwise.

I agree with you....the battery world seems out of wack.
reminds me of ratings on guitar amps. can be confusing.
I'd like to know how they determine the mAh rating. the trustfires are way overrated.
there may be different ways of rating them as with the guitar amps and maybe if they explained what method they used to rate them we could better figure out the true rating.
but I know nothing about how they determine the mAh rathing. someone enlighten us?

but as long as you make sure the battery you want to use fits the mod BEFORE you buy it you should be fine.
mAh rating....lol yes..stupid.

i understand the bad batch of atomizers little rant....very frustrating and can be expensive.

The 0 is for tenths of a mm. There is no need to define them as cylindrical since the first two numbers define the diameter. It would be redundant since diameter already refers to a circle/cylinder. So a 18652 would be 65.2 mm. However protected batteries vary widely due to the PCB being tacked on later; so you could say that many of them are out of spec. Not sure if there are guidelines which specify a min/max to remain in spec. I have a feeling the battery industry has no guidelines whatsoever in this regard and simply call their batteries whatever they wish.

I have a bunch of 14500's and 18650 Trustfires and my 18650's are identical. However my 14500's vary visually in length. Small sample size of about 9 batteries each. AW may be more consistent and true to spec than the Trustfires. I need to pick up a digital caliper just to test them.
