My friend and I both got an ego twist set with two batteries. We both use the Provari but just thought we would like something smaller for out and about. We liked them well enough but the 1000 mah battery only lasted us about 6 hours on a charge and the 650mah lasted us around 3 hours.I know that's not a bad charge time but we r used to using panisonics in our Provari's which last me 2 days and her 4 days and figured out we r just spoiled and hated the frequent charging of the twists. My friends dad uses 808s and we ended up giving the twists to him. He has had them for about 3 weeks and two of the 4 have now stopped working. One broke in his pocket and the wires came off (we are gonna try and solder it) and the other just stopped charging. One of the 1000 mah batteries has a sticking button so you have to pay close attention when using it or it will keep firing. Her dad now loves variable voltage and she is going to have to buy him a Provari. We have to wonder how long the other two batts will last him after this experience. The cost of 4 twist batteries and a charger would have nearly bought the Provari he will be getting now. If I can help someone new my advice would be if you are in this for the long haul get a well known reliable mod and skip the Ego's. They were a huge let down for us. I will add that they are real branded Joytech Egos. I will also add that her dad is not very active at nearly 80 yrs old and did not drop the batts.

That's a bummer. I don't know if maybe I just got lucky or what . .but I love my ego-twists. I have had them for around 5 weeks now. They are both 650s and last me around 5-6 hours of heavy use with 1.8ohm Mini Nova - less if I'm using my low res atty - probably around 3-4 hours then. I have been using them both all day, every day - just swapping one out when it needs charging. No problems at all so far - I do have one with a sticking button, though - gotta watch that. I just ordered a 1000mah - should be here on Thurs.

Sorry about the bad experience - I don't really know what else to suggest with the same features in the same size package. If you find some good alternatives - let us know.

I've heard stories similar to yours about the Twists, and it sucks to hear. I have friends who have regular Egos and I am usually tempted to recommend the Twists to them when they start saying that they want something "more" than the standard Ego, mostly due to cost (same charger, not much more expensive than a standard Ego). I have two Ego Twist 650 mahs myself and haven't had any issues beyond the difference in resistance while twisting the dial between my black one and my silver one, but they also aren't my primary units. Since I'm not using the Twists all day, I won't comment on battery life.

Have you looked into the Vision Spinners? I don't have any personal experience with them, but I've read plenty of good things an they're about the same price as, if not a little cheaper than, the Ego Twist.

On a side note, it seems like I constantly have a battery for my ProVari on the charger. Maybe it's just the way I vape at home (I only really use my ProVari at home because I don't want it to get broken at work), but I only get *maybe* 8 hours of vape time out of a 2000 mah AW IMR 18650. I know the Panasonics have a little higher capacity, but it just goes to show how much run time can vary depending on your setup.

Vendors who sell genuine Joyetechs are probably going to warranty these as Joyetech warranties it to them.

If you bought ego twist clones, I have no idea what the vendor will do for you. Many vendors will stand by it after only 3 weeks, I would contact them.

Not saying clones are worse than Joyetech, just saying that I look for a manufacturer who gives a warranty so that the vendor is covered, and hence can pass it on to their customers.

also, get into the habit of patronizing 1 or 2 vendors, because loyalty pays off, IMHO. There are only 4 I deal with now, and they "know me" and I feel more comfortable having a relationship.

some people will jsut shop sales willy-nilly, and I have found that over time, that probably doesn't work out well for them, JMHO. I know who treats me right, has fast shipping to my particular region, answers my emails fast, etc. so I just stick with the vendors that I like and if something is a dollar more or so, that's just fine with me.

At this point though, you should at least be asking the vendor if all this stuff from them is collapsing at such a fast rate. They will want to know anyway.

I talk to people on this forum, every week, who are stil vaping on their original equipment and still not smoking after a year or more. If somebody *requires* more, then that's good. Many people just don't, and they love their Joyetech Twists and regular batts and 808s and mini-cigs too.

There is no *better* in that sense. Just *more*. (features, power, etc.)

While I can agree with most of what you said, the twists haven't been out for a year yet, so no one could be using them for a year or longer at this point.

Gotta ask why anyone would treat their PVs any different than a pack o' cigs? I used to avoid crushing, bending and etc. my precious 'bakky cigs like da plague! My PVs are treated no different as to care.

As for your other Twists issues, I would question the manufacturer/vendor. I haven't had any issues with the ones I've purchased.

The twists and spinners are great but they will never compete with a mod that provides constant regulated voltage.

I can tell the difference with my eyes closed. I still use them for out and about though ... they get the job done for me.

i agree, but i have a spinner with me for bckup just in case.

The provari mini isn't mini enough.

An eGo 650mah battery with an EGo C atomizer and tank is about the size of a thick writing pen. It is all metal, doesn't leak and is easily concealable. Loaded with high nic juice, it is sure to make any family reunion bearable :)

Now, the vape is nowhere near as awesome as my Provari with a tank on it. But then again, the provari doesn't fit in my pants pocket either.

Typed on my mobile. Please excuse typos.

My Twist are 5 months old now and still working great. :) It's true, a 650 mah battery and 1000 mah battery don't last as long as my 2000 + mah 18650 batteries in other APV's I own between charges but I already knew they wouldn't before purchasing so no surprise there. ;)

Sorry to hear about the twist breaking in his pocket. Did you try cleaning the battery connection on the one not working before charging? Or did you try carefully pulling the pin out a slight bit to be sure its making a connection with the charger ?

I agree with others about checking with the vendor you purchased from on any possible warranty or plain generous offer. No matter what the case these items are to expensive to die within a 3week time span. I also agree with Thrasher about other options. I bought a name brand twist for out and about with no issues( knock on wood). I'm normally a Silver Bullet girl so I didn't expect the twist to compare but rather be replacement for work and running around the city. Good luck I hope you find a device that works for you.

The Twists work for me because I have 2 Twists & a mini lavatube each set up with a different flavor and I switch between the three, so I get a couple days before I have to charge the Twists and change the battery in the mlt; however I don't think the Twist would be a good choice fore a sole PV-you'd get frustrated having to stop and charge it a couple of times a day, and they always seem to run out of juice at the most inconvenient times-the other day I had to run to the store, and I grabbed one of my Twists, and got about 100 yards down the road and it quit.

I love my Spinners. Never tried the Twist. The 1100mah lasts me all day, but then maybe I'm not as "hardcore". The 650 lasts a good part of the day and is stealthier, although the voltage readings on the "chrome" finish are starting to wear off as expected. The Black matte finish on the other battery still looks like it did the day it arrived in the mailbox.

I read how hard it is to change the voltage on the Joyetech, so I got the Vision batts instead. I like the form factor of these stick batts a lot, but I'm sure I'll get a big-boy PV soon.
