The want to regulate food as the do tobacco. I suppose soon it will be the way we procreate, the color of car we drive, and allotted allowance of living space.

I'm guessing it something to do with this story;BBC News - Food should be regulated like tobacco, say campaigners
Doubt I need to break that link, no junk science as no science at all evident here. It's an example of the slippery slope argument proving true. First the came for the smokers.... and all that.

But just think, we could all drink water and eat government approved gruel. No flavors to worry about.

Let's not forget about the "de-normalization" aspect of this - only FDA-approved gruel will be allowed to be consumed in public spaces, but not closer than 500ft from any school zone, or designated "food-free" area.

FYI - A simpler way to break links can be to replace the tt with xx, ie http:// becomes hxxp:// and that's easier to deal with than removing spaces.

I also noticed there's a CODE button. That will also break links but they'll be active in the browser url.
Code:
http://www.google.com/

If the FDA could get control of everything, we could bring the whole economy to a screeching halt except, of course, non-productive government work.

In some economic views, this wouldn't be a problem. GDP includes government spending, you know. The economy dips; government spending expands to make up for it. GDP remains at substantially the same level and everybody's happy.

Hm... interesting little phrase here.... for future use:

The food industry should be regulated like the tobacco industry as obesity poses a greater global health risk than cigarettes, say international groups.

Does it now? ;)

Bookmarked for the next chubby writer in some silly rag who whines about the oh-so-horrible danger of e-cigs. :sneaky:
Say, isn't Glands kind of ... uhm.. not slim? :D

...

OMG and commenter No 826 just called obesity a "disease"
Yum yum, I can just see Big Pharma pushing diet pills all over the place now. Nice, healthy stuff, of course .....

But.. but.. that contains (shock) flavors!!!! Adults do not like flavors, remember?
All that horrible obesity... worse than cigarettes... caused by ab-so-lute-ly flavorless food! All those people stuffing themselves with bland and tasteless food until they get fat! Oh the horror! :D

Hm.. yeah.. maybe he could bring himself to vape some .. oh-so-disgusting flavor.. in order to escape that health risk that is worse than cigarettes...

...
Hm.... let me see :
1. adults do not like flavors
2. obesity poses a greater global health risk than cigarettes

-- something does not compute. Why the hell do they eat all that stuff if they do not like flavors?

Hey, great link to a very useful article, guys and gals :D
This is something that we can shove down the throat of every stupid person who blathers that "adults do not like flavors". Heck, if they do not like flavors, then why is obesity allgedly such a horrible public health risk?
