Let's be honest, smoking cigarettes is far cheaper than vaping!

If I had been a pipe smoker, I'm confident I would have. I also believe that for many of us, vaping is more like smoking pipes than cigarettes.

Oh come on, how many confirmed smokers only had one lighter? ;)

ROFL... I practically had one in every room, and I didn't even smoke in the house. (not tobacco anyway ;))... but I always had one in the left pocket of every winter coat and jacket, and at least one in the truck, and always one right with the cigarettes; often I had a pkg of them with several more in it.

When I first quit smoking, I realized one of the downsides real early on, last spring: no lighter to burn off stray synthetic threads. :( And when our power went out in one of those ice storms, I had to really hunt to find a lighter to light some candles. :D I ended up having to use the very last one I had, which was in my vape gear, as my means of flaming kanthal.

I only had one---one in the car, one in my purse, one in the kitchen, one in the living room and at least one in reserve :lol:

LOL, I still have a big ole box of strike anywhere matches in a kitchen drawer, and about half a dozen Zippos hanging out in different places ( dried out but I have fuel on hand just in case). I keep a bic on my workbench for lighting torches and melting any synthetic cord that gets cut ;)

For years I had purchased a number of the torch-style lighters.....anywhere from Colibris to Porsche. I guess I spent on lighters much like I now spend on mods. I had bought cheapie made in China ones that sold for $5 at the corner store or the gas station to expensive ones (I think the most expensive one I bought was a Porsche Design one and paid over $150 for it at a smoke shop). All of the ones I bought never lasted me more than a year to a year and a half at most. They all failed at some point and would stop igniting. The sad part is when the Porsche one died, I bought a replacement of the same exact lighter, except I found it for around $80 on ebay. The cheap ones were cool because you could get ones that burned in designer colors like pink or green, but they would always begin to fail to light as soon as you tried to refill it the first time. In hindsight, I would guess that I purchased probably well over $500 in lighters, and that doesn't even include the occasional Zippo or the countless disposable lighters I've purchased over 30+ years.

Hmmmmm......now I don't feel so bad about buying all these mods.....I should look for a new one now. ;)

Eight months after I started vaping, we were having my daughter's birthday party. It came time to light the candles and everyone looked at me because for the previous 20 years I ALWAYS had a lighter in my pocket. Luckily I had remembered to pack one of the long necked lighters in the bag of craft supplies, took us a minute to find it.

Lucky you had a lighter in your RBA kit. Torches don't light candles very well.

This just made my day:facepalm:....Being a Porschephile, I have seen tractors, bicycles and a few other Pcar design items, but never a lighter! ....I am now on a quest to obtain a Porsche lighter, have no idea what I will use it for but I have to have one!

And then if you were desperate for a lighter and all you could get was the dollar flamethrowers where the top bits fell off after a day. Talk about thermal runaway i was too close to burning off eyebrows a couple of times lol
I used to buy them by the 50 pack box and get a free one with every carton purchase. Zippos, torches and bics everywhere to boot.

My smoking was costing me $250 per month!
My vaping is costing me $16 a month!

Looks like I am saving money unless I am a total math failure :) My kitchen is liking all the new appliances that it has thanks to vaping :) Oh and I haven't even counted the savings in all the COPD meds I am not taking anymore or Dr's visits.

My trusty Reo an RDA and diy juice got me there!

Search on ebay. There are a ton of different ones and the prices are a lot better than paying retail. The model I had (just checked) was the PD4.

You will also save money because you will die sooner!
Whenever my wife used that "die sooner" argument, I always countered with that I saw it as a few year less of living with her. Could never figure out why that never went over well. :w00t::D
