Let's do something nice for an AWESOME family member!

Ok so I have decided to start this thread (actually I have to give credit to DistortoBlotto- he mentioned it in another thread )to try and do something nice for a very deserving family member. AStilettoHeel- ASH as we know- her has had a tough time lately and I think that the REO she has been wanting would help cheer her up!

I have consulted with the amazing DistortoBlotto and we decided the best way to organize this would be to have anyone interested in helping out contact Distorto directly so he can organize the funds via PayPal in one location. This way we can track how close we are getting to our goal. We want to get enough together to get ASH a REO of her choice, atomizer and a button cover.

So many awesome family members have already contacted me- I am just amazed at how wonderful this group of people is!!!
So please- anyone interested send a PM to DistortoBlotto and he will keep us updated on how close we are getting to our goal.

It really is the best feeling to help a deserving person!!!

A big Thank You to those who have already donated!!! It is true that Amberina and I have consulted with each other to get this thing done. I am at work until 6 am and plan to pm ASH when I get home to get an idea of what has already been donated. The goal here is to get ASH her Reo while creating the least amount of issues for her. I had suggested to start this thing in another thread and Amberina being the sweetheart that she is, took the bull by the horns and ran with it!

So to keep this thing organized, the next step is to consult with ASH. We will keep tabs on the funds collected and once the goal has been reached will post that no further funds are needed. If there is any overage I believe the best way to handle that would be to devide it up based on the amount each family member donated by percentage and refund the PP accounts of those who donated but, I am going to keep as tight of a rein on things as possible in order to try and avoid having to do so. I am also open to any suggestions that the donating members may have. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM.

After I have consulted with ASH I will return and update this thread with any changes or updates. In the mean time, if you happen to be read this ASH, Start shopping for that REO!....

This is an awesome idea! A few suggestions...

1. Can we make this sticky? I think it's something we should do many more times.
2. I think rather than refunding people, it makes sense to put the extra funds toward the next purchase for someone else. Don't you guys? It's less work for everyone, and more people who get to be helped.

I wonder if we happen to go over a little on funds should it just be used to purchase extra bottles, springs, rebuild kit. You know the extras that are good to have on hand? That being said, I don't have a pp acct, is there still a way I can donate as a guest on pp?

Oh I don't think of those as extras but necessities. And distor can send you a bill I think...PP has changed some since I was using it all the time so not sure.

Or, I wonder if I can just purchase stuff for this from Rob and ask him to hold it for when the big purchase goes through. I can just let distor know what I purchased. Of course I hate to make it difficult on Rob.

O.K This is where we stand as of now. I have PM'd ASH and am awaiting her response in order to determine as to which the best way to proceed.

I want to thank those who have PM'd me offering donations and have replied to all of them as of now.

I have been up all night at work and I am now going to go fluff my pillow for a while and will respond with any updates right after I am back up with a fresh cup of coffee and GCD in hand.
