The rubbing alcohol I use or have is only 70% isopropyl. I assume the other part is just water. Can you get it at a higher percentage? I have not even looked in stores. Just used what I had in the cabinet. Seemed to do fairly well with the exception of one, where the coils still look dark. Wish I could find some type of soft bristle brush I could fit in there so I don't mess up the coils when I brush it off. I also have some white vinegar I thought I would try. If it takes coralline algae off a fish tank then it should also clean coils....

For my RBA coils I use a clean mascara brush. Wonder if you could bend one to fit into a Shifu...?

I've never used a brush of any sort on my coils, but would love to know your experiences. I have used a toothpick and gently scraped at the coils.

I have 91% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol......bought at a chain drug store off the shelf in California.

As I understand it, the higher percentage the more pure it is.

That's also why PGA is a better solvent than Vodka -- its just the spririts!
This is good to know. I'll have to look for some as I also use alcohol for my pyro activities

Either rescue a mascara brush from an old tube and wash it, or use a disposable one... you can buy them in packs at the drugstore (or discreetly liberate one from a MAC counter). The bristles are just firm enough to get any residue off the coils without disturbing them. I also used to use a toothpick, and still do for some things, but a brush is tops for the job.

I don't know much about that, dgnr, but Eddie might:

I have noticed one new coil head design. (New to me, anyway.) The coil heads for the Vision Aurora have 510 threading, so they could be an interesting "atty" for a vmod. The Aurora kits or parts are not available here in the US yet, and I don't think anyone has re-coiled them yet, but it sure seems likely.

I am looking for the vapage link that shows their coupon codes for the week. Someone posted it on here or the other thread but I can't seem to locate it, anyone have it?

I got the email for 33% off but last time I got one for 20% off and there was a 50% off code floating around that I did not get in my email, so thought I would check the link to see if there is anything else I am missing :)

Well I took the plunge today and managed to get my hands on a new A7 at a reasonable cost. I've never used a dripper before and certainly not used anything on my Vmod besides the slants that I got when I ordered mine.

I'd like to hear from anyone that has used an A7 and what exactly you had to do to get it to work. I'd really hate to muck it up and not be able to enjoy it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, as I know a lot of people have better things to do then answer questions that could be answered by doing a little research.

One thing I have noticed about this thread, the people that hang out here seem to be a lot nicer then some of the other ones I keep track of. No one seems to think they are above or better then anyone and I for one really appreciate that.
Thanks again for all the help.:)

Hi BD. I use an a7 on my vmod and really dig it. First thing with the a7 is to stabilize the bottom adjustable pin. A small strip of a carto condom works well. Just wedge it in there and poke it into place.
You'll also need a 510-510 unsealed adapter.
Then when you build your coil, build it directly over the air hole. I like a micro coil on my vmod. I use sterile rolled cotton from cvs for my wick and its amazing. When I need a new wick, I just slide the old one out, dry burn the coil and slide a new piece of cotton in. It's the best vape I've eve had on my vmod.

Seems like Got Vapes has this in stock, should be interesting to see if the parts will work on a Vmod, after they get them in or another site gets them. I'd be interested in seeing if it does.

Thanks Kemosabe, I'll give that a try. But I'm a little confused about the "small strip of a carto condom". Do you mean cut the open end and use it? I've not tried cotton wicks yet, wonder if cotton balls would make a good one?
Too many questions already, need more coffee!

Cut the tip off of the open end of a carto condom. Perhaps half a centimeter down. You'll be left with a ring. Cut that ring so it's a strip. You'll also have to shorten that strip. Ill take some photos if you need.

I highly recommend cotton wicks. It wicks better than silica and provides more flavor. The only thing is you can't dry burn. But you don't need to. Just slide the old wick out, dry burn the coil, then slide a new wick in. This process is especially easy when you make your coil micro-style by wrapping touching wraps around a mold such as a 1/16 drill bit.

Then mount the coil with the mold still attached. This will allow the coil to remain uniform while you mount. It also allows you to place the coil right where you want it- directly over the hole of the a7.

Thanks Brother, I'll give it a try tomorrow, after I've had my morning pot of coffee.

That device looks promising. It's like a mini vmod on top of an ego. Even the bottle threads seem to match the vmods.
