I looked but haven't been able to find a direct answer. Is there any RBA that will work directly on the Vmod without modifications ?

the A7 needs no modification at all to work on the vmod. and it works well. all you need is a 510-510 unsealed adapter. the atomozer take sthe place of the cone and viola, bobs your uncle :)

Hurray, vape mail came for me yesterday. I finally received my order from Fast Tech, even with the added hassle from Chinese customs or what ever they are called, I got my order, Received the following:
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1233700
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1412706
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1452201
The Juk is a knockoff of an E Baron(I'm just guessing here as I don't own an E) I wasn't aware that no 510 drip tips would fit it, not use to that, may take some getting use to. It looks cool on either of my Xl's , can't comment on how it works though. Neither of my 520 adapters will work, I even tried taking the body off to see if it would fire, but no luck. And I've had my adapters so long I can't remember where I bought them. I tried a longer extension and it fired but it was way too long, about a half inch to my guess. Now I need to scour the net to find an adapter that will work for me.
The V5 looks cool too but like any rebuild-able, it needs some work on it, like drilling the center pin so it will feed right. It already has an air hole on the body. Just haven't had the time to take to work with it yet. Should be interesting though, as I've never used a dripping device before and it has a dual coil set-up.
I charged the batteries last night and put them in this morning, so I run them to see how they stack up to the ones I already have.
Just measured my adapters, they seem to be about 11.5 cm, hard to judge since I don't have a micrometer to do a good measure. Does anybody know how long the adapter needs to be and where I could pick one up.
Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. And let's keep vaping our favorite mod!

i just use a standard 510-510 unsealed adapter. its about 1-2mm too long, but its works fine. as a matter of fact, you actually cant flush-mount the A7 or else it custs off too much air flow. that little gap is preferrable. i do put a piece of electrical tape around the base of the chassis to prevent the shell from sliding when firing, but thats the only modification i do and it works beautifully.

ive got 2 510-510 unsealeds and one was from High Desert Vapes and the other from Surevapes. they both fit and both work with my vmod (the 2.0 vmod).

i purchased that ebaron clone too and i was disappointed that no drip tips fit it. im thinking of sanding the clone's tip a bit on the inside and also sanding a drip tip for it to make it fit. i cant stand shotgunning the eB clone. and it does feed on the vmod just fine. i like my A7 better on it, but its nice to know ive got a backup.

Looking for an RDA recommendation. I think I want to try dual coils, but I'd rather not have to drill out the center post and don't want to spend a fortune. Anybody?

the A7 (High Desert Vapes) or the eBaron clone (FT). both are cheap and good to go straight away. all you need is a 510-510 unsealed adapter.

i recommend the A7 because its all SS. the ebaron clone is not and its a little trickier to set up due to the use of NR & R wire, and ceramic cup. plus the ebaron clone cant take a drip tip without modification.

I have an A7 now, but not really set up for dual coils. I'm looking for something with three posts. I saw the A6 on discount vapers does anybody have any experience with it?

Accidental discovery... You all know the trick of wrapping some tape (scotch or electrical) around your batts to make them easy/ier to remove, yes? Welp, I put in an electrical tape wrapped batt into the baby Vmod and proceeded to put the shell on. Evidently I was pretty heavy handed with the tape so it was quite bulky. When I put the shell on (had to give it a bit of a push), it held, and it's holding well! Put the A7 on top, and BOOM, Bob was my uncle! :D

I'm like you, I want to modify the ebaron to be able to take a drip tip.
And I also had to drill an air-hole for the A7 to work. Used the smallest bit i had for my dremel, still turned out to be a little too airy for me but I'm getting use to it. And I'm like you Kemosabe, I like the idea of having a back up to my slants, besides I can't help tinkering.

Sorry to shift gears in the middle of a great RDA discussion, but just wanted to let everyone know that The Guide to Vaping is doing a vote for 2013.

guidetovaping.com/2013/10/01/guide…of-2013-entries/

Mine's done and I absolutely voted for Shifu's slant coils for best atomizer... and of course NiteLiteVapor for best vliquid and best customer service. ;)

I'll be very interested to hear what you gals/guys think, and what you vote for "Must have accessory"... I'm a bit stumped on that one, but I think I have to go with Bounty Vaper Towels...

Well my vmod xl came in the mail today. It took a little practice but think I got the sqonking pretty much down. As soon as I got home from dinner tried every thing in my vape box (a three drawer tackle box) that would fit on it. Some got vapes stallion hybrid cartos, a bridgeless dripping atty, old blue carts, even a couple vision nanos. My best vape came as a toss up between the hybrid atty that came with it and some old blue carts I pulled most of the batting out of. I had such high hopes for the nano but was muted and constantly flooded (might be just worn out), the stallion was also muted not flooded though, maybe it might just need a longer break in period. Just hate I have to "tailpipe" the blues no tips will fit on them. All and all loving the vmod. My vamo 3 now rests quietly at the bottom of the box.

P.S. when I ordered it and when I got it outa the box my wife said "that things huge and clunky, have fun I will stick with mine" (a 600 twist and a mini nova) within two hours she had a problem not getting much vapor I let her try the vmod and she said "well.., lets get me one" which when translated means "this thing rocks but I can't say that now that I gave him so much grief" :2cool:

You could always get her a mini. If I remember right, somebody mentioned a bogo going on :D

Other than the sealed bottom, this looks just about right. It looks like the original version had a screw for the pos like the A7 but the adjustment ring was strictly decorative. All in all, I may get one of these and drill out the center post. Could also be useful for my experiment with a new atty design.

Steamgolem, welcome to the club, you'll find a great class of people here. All are willing to help in any way we can and of course we welcome another Vmodder to the flock. Where at in Virginia?

Steamgolem, the 14500 vmod is tiny. i suspect that your girl would quite like it.

Thanks. Think I'll check that out. With the current China shipping issues, no telling when I'd get something from fasttech.

the word on the net is the backlog of FT orders is dwindling (my tow orders are evidence of this as well), and on top of that, new orders are actually getting shipped faster than the old ones, surpassing the backlog.
