Lightening Vapes Age Verification Form

Well it's started, for me anyways. I have known, along with most of us here, that the dooming regs were gonna effect us a lot sooner and a lot deeper than was eluded to by Zeller. Well I just read the email that lightning vapes is sending out to they're existing customers. They give a choice between filling out a form and sending a copy of your state, federal ID,passport or having your order sent with a more expensive adult signature shipping.

My first thought is CRAP! I was holding off on my lightning vapes order while I tried to round out my mods and atty's. Now I have to see how much more for the adult signature shipping.

Second thought, and question, I have state DL, passport and D.O.D ID, which one would you use?
This question is obviously for people who would actually submit to this requirement.

Will they accept a picture of your ID/license if you black out the private stuff like your license number? All they really need is name address and birth date, right? Should be no problem giving that up as they need/have the first two to ship you your order already...

No way past that, I'm afraid.
EU with TPD2 had a slight headstart on that - age verification mandatory since April.
Two step process - your age needs to be verified upon ordering ( there's various centralized - one verification suits all schemes around ) and whoever actually delivers the order to you can only hand it out to an adult which is either you or another adult authorized by you. So you might get carded by the mailman

Mostly they use databases from the credit card companies.

Adds about 6 to 7 bucks to the shipping costs.

I just placed an order with them, but all I ever get from Lightning is Kanthal or Ni80 wire. I guess that's not included in any age verification deal.

I LIKE LV, they're actually in Fla., but I Don't buy juice from them and wire is going to be available for a long time elsewhere without an ID.

All they say has to match your ID is Name and Address. So blacking out everything except that and your BD on the license should work. They shouldn't even need your pic, it's not like they're matching That to anything.

I always get my wire from them. I don't really expect wire to be regulated as there are too many other used for it. The only wire that would be regulated are premade coils made specfically for using in atties.

Apart from the fact that it makes shipping more expensive, i find it irritating that companies with whom i have done business for a number of years now see fit to ask me to prove my age, especially since i make all internet purchases with a credit card.

The last i checked, you had to be an adult to own one.

Just hits me as ironic, with the anti prepping stance and all. And I think I remember something about taking a long time to implement age verification, and in Florida yet. Just ironic that's all.

Same here. 1000ft of Kanthal/SS ordered yesterday and shipped today. No age verification.

I am in Canada though, so once it hits the border LV shouldn't care if my 3 year old signs for the shipment. None of the U.S. Govt's business.

Here's the rub...what if you just moved and you don't have your ID/driver's updated with your new address? And yes I know you are "supposed to" change it within thirty days. But I have NEVER done that. The whole address on your ID matching your shipping address is bogus. What does that prove anyway? If your cc billing address matches your shipping address that is all that should be needed.

There are only 9 items other than juice on their Age Required list. NONE of those are just the wire that LV is so known for. Just as I thought.
