Lingering in the air

So, this afternoon I was vaping my Caramel Mocha Frappachino (their spelling, not mine ;)), and I noticed the vapor was lingering in the air for a long time... I mean, really hanging there... for, like, several minutes. I found this really surprising, as one of the things I always tell people who are unfamiliar with e-cigs is that the vapor - unlike smoke - dissipates within seconds. I especially tell this to people before I vape in their home... but if that "hang time" I experienced today had happened in someone else's home, I would have felt like a liar, as well as pretty embarrassed.

I actually had a somewhat similar (albeit less noticeable) experience the other day using my Volcano in the theater. I was vaping away while our Director was standing on stage addressing the rest of us (the cast of my play) sitting in the audience seats, and one big exhale seemed to linger and drift toward some of my cast mates before eventually disappearing. But, damn, I had never really seen any of my vapor travel that far - like drifting smoke, really - and I was a little self-conscious, as the whole reason I get away with vaping away in the theater - among everyone else - is because it usually does vanish immediately. No one said anything... or seemed to notice for that matter... but this afternoon, I was thinking, damn, if I had been vaping my VK - and especially (apparently) this Caramel Mocha Frapp, I guess - it would have been pretty obnoxious!

Soooooooo... I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience? And, if so, if you think it has anything to do with the juice itself? Or the atomizer?

Thanks!

My second day I was really going at it with a peach cobbler. It was 11mg so it was like candy too me :p Anyway.... My living room got downright foggy. It kinda creeped me out to be honest. It definitely hung around for at least 5 mins.!! I could tell my husband and son where a little annoyed with this and I did feel a little like a liar.

Not a huge deal though. I've just realized if I'm going to vape heavy like that I should go into another room.

I definitely don't want to sacrifice taste or amount of vapor. I can always hold it in longer for stealthing.

I recently put a humidifier in my living room to cut down on the static electricity that I've been experiencing since the cold snap. The vapor definately lingers longer since upping the humidity level, although none of my flavors (including my 0 nic vg/pga nighttime vape) linger for five minutes....
Have also recently added a humidifier to combat the dry air and static electricity in our place as wll as one of those cheap humidity gauges they sell near the humidifiers and yeah the more humid it is the longer the vapor seems to hang around...guessing it has a lot to do with the saturation point of moisture in the air...on the up side, getting good at not having to look at the gauge just by watching the vapor..obviously air movement has a lot to do with it as well..

Theatre's would provide an interesting atmosphere..starting out cold and empty and dark, stagnant airflow..the more people added in rehearsal the hot lights and sweat changing ambient moisture quickly..I'm guessing it'd be a different vapor experience between even when you just walk into the theatre and post rehearsal and different areas of the theatre..

I've noticed it - especially when the sun is streaming in the window. You can't smell it, but you can definitely SEE it. I think it has something to do with the dry winter air. Or maybe it's always there, just harder to see in different lighting. It still dissipates a lot faster than smoke and you can't smell it on your clothes and furniture the way you can smoke.

We left our house for a few days over Christmas and came home to a fresh-smelling house (ever notice odors when you've been away for a time?) We didn't smoke inside the house, but you can definitely tell the difference in the cars. I could smell lingering smoke for a few DAYS in my car. I can also smell the smoke on my stepdaughter's clothes (her mother smokes in their house).

So, even though you can sometimes SEE the vapor, it has completely different effects on the environment than smoke.

Were you shooting a scene for American Pie 7? :pervy:

Well, I'm definitely glad (or, relieved, rather) to know so many of you have noticed this, too. I don't know if it's the humidity... I live in LA, and it's pretty dry here, although it does get humid in the winter and it could very well have been humid yesterday.

This just makes me a little wary about busting out my VK at a bar, restaurant, etc. The Volcano is still what I've been taking out with me for convenience sake, but it also doesn't compare with my VK in vapor production. I've been contemplating taking the VK, but now I'm a little reluctant. It's hard enough explaining to a proprietor that "it's not smoke", but if the vapor lingers in their establishment for several minutes and especially if it invades other patrons' space (very likely in a crowded bar), it would be very hard to defend your right to use it in there. Well, I guess I'll just consider the venue!
