Lint traps as filler--not bad!

I've tried a number of fillers for my 901 carts, and haven't been overly satisfied--polyfill, filler from old carts, even blue foam from the pet store. None of them seemed to wick juice all that well.

Yesterday I was at wal-mart looking for a drain plug and saw a $1.97 pack of lint traps. It's a roll of stainless-steel metal mesh. I snagged a pack.

I cut off a strip, blew off the excess metal shavings, and rolled it loosely to fit a cart (kitchen shears work great for this), trimmed it flush, and filled it with juice. I'm really impressed; I was able to get 20 drops into the cart without any effort last night and it took about 17 drops to fill it up again today when it finally started going dry. That's a lot better a fill and a lot less residual juice than I was getting before, and it was dirt-cheap.

Anyone else try this?
