Hey guys I have had this evod kangertech starting kit for a while now and have never had any problems till about a week ago, when i fill up the tank, (with a new coil aswell) and smoke it for a while the juice inside the tank starts turning brown, is there a way to fix the coil that i already have, should i be using other coils, i know you can make cotton wicks for them and dry burn, i just want to get soem advice before i get my hands dirty trying to improve this thing and possibly ruin a coil.

If this change is a new occurrence, what are you doing different. Different juice, pg/vg ratio, sweeter juice?

Is your evod the standard battery or vv because more power can be over cooking the juice and causing the burning. That will also cause the burn residue to leach back into the tank and cause the darkening of the juice in the tank. Same goes for it running hotter.

Is the taste and performance dropping with the juice changing color?

The taste is changing, it taste kinda rubbery and plasticy when its burnt, what is pg/vg? and also the way it hits has changed too its weird you have to pull a little harder to get any vape.

You could have burnt the rubber insulator that is between the pin and the base of the coil...............if you are adding new juice to tainted burnt juice, it could be leaching into the new juice...............you could be using too much voltage for your juice (if you have a vv/vw), you could have a bad batch of coils................ chain vaping or restricting air flow could be cooking your juice.......if you dry burn your coils before use - see first suggestion

if the flavor is burnt and you have to pull harder to get vapor, it sounds like a bad coil/dirty coil/gunked up

eliquid darkening in the tank is normal caramelizing of the sweeteners used in eliquid - this is caused from the metal around the head heating up the eliquid

If you could give us a link to the eliquid you are using we can also try to diagnose that.

PG = Propylene Glycol
VG= Vegetable Glycerin
these components are used as the carriers for the nicotine base and flavors and most (not all) vendors will list their ratios on their website or even on the bottle

higher pg = more flavor and less vapor - thinner, watery consistency - wicks easier
higher vg = more vapor and muted flavor - thicker, syrupy consistency - does not wick as easy as pg - tends to clog coils quicker in tanks - works better in dripping atomizers

The vaporization of the juice will cause darkening of the juice. If you are topping off your tank the juice will become darker and thicker as you vape. This is normal.
If you are getting a burnt taste you may be using too high a voltage/wattage causing the juice to burn onto the wick(s) and coil (also contributing to the darkening of the juice)
