Yes you can use that converter, just put a push button switch on the (+) out to the atty connecter. The on off that comes with it will be your master switch.

You can put the on off switch on the positive wire before it gets to the button from the battery. Just a slide on off at least 3amp will work, 3amp for the button also.

I'm a little late to this party, but I think the on/off switch on the board just controls the LED voltage display.

Wondering if anyone has used one of these yet? They do look kind of big, but I have been thinking about making some bizarre mods out of larger household items. This looks like a good easy in easy out board for that. The only thing I don't like about it besides the size, is I'm not a fan of the blue 25 turn trimmers. I prefer a thumbwheel, or one turn pots.
A dual 18650 bat holder, a 510 adapter with nut, a little epoxy and hookup wire, and voila, you have a mannequin head mod to freak all your friends out with.
Your right it just cycles the meter reading between imput and output, that was why I bought the other model with the jumpers and put my own switches. I don't like the glare with the meter on all the time.
Here is the LM2595 board with meter onboard from ebay , took the legs off it and sanded its sides just a hair .
I like the easy connectors for the wire attachments. Little white switch pressed lets me see battery volts or vaping voltage.
Works fine for me. I hot glued the tactile switch. I did JB weld the atty connector after picture was taken.

The one i had bought was much less expensive i recal, had to wait a while as it came from Japan or China and 3 or 4 amp, the meter goes on when atty switch is pressed and does not stay lit otherwise but it is kinda large .I'm a little late to this party, but I think the on/off switch on the board just controls the LED voltage display.

Would like to fine a source for those sets like they put in the tube mods that display many more options nowadays. ; )
