List of poisons in tobacco.

In fairness, that's a list of additives and not poisons. Wikipedia has identified it correctly; the original poster didn't.

Nearly all of those additives are not poisons, unless you injest ounces to pounds of them over the course of a day. Smokers would injest nanograms to micrograms of them. Remember, everything is a poison in too large a quantity.

Quite a few of those additives already exist naturally in the tobacco leaf itself; if any of those in that particular class are being added in addition to what's already in the leaf, then it's probably a "so-what?"

Also, some of those additives are actually a necessary part of our metabolisms and proper body functioning.

Some of those additives are simple preservatives, the same as you'll find in a lot of different foods.

A bunch of them are flavorings, the identical flavorings in what you're vaping right now. Wikipedia notes, "... all these chemical compounds have been approved as additives to food ..." but who knows what happens when they're burned. Well, how about boiling them then inhaling them, which is what we do when we vape?

Here's a really sinister-sounding compound: "Ethyl methylphenylglycidate." Sounds like something Chemical Ali would have used to massacre defenseless Kurds, doesn't it? Clicking on the link reveals this: "... commonly known as 'strawberry aldehyde', [it] is an organic compound used in the flavor industry in artificial fruit flavors, in particular strawberry."

And finally, that list had to be made public by FDA edict. What's to keep the various tobacco companies from salting the list with compounds they don't actually use, as red herrings to throw off the competition?

Really, folks, a lot of you have been totally sucked in by the ANTZ propaganda and bought their lies lock, stock and barrel. Click on the links to the compounds' pages directly from the Wikipedia list.

Now I'll go don my Kevlar suit to ward off the flames.

Here's what I find interesting: In Canada the government, which apparently is all about getting people to quite smoking, has made no move to get cigarette manufacturers to stop putting additives in their cigarettes. They even managed to squeeze out American Spirit tobacco (all natural, no additive tobacco cigarettes) from exporting to Canada.
