Hmm I'm usually very sensitive to taste and I haven't noticed any off taste with this unit. What does it taste like? Do you have another one you can try?

Guess I'll fill up the second one I have and see if it tastes funny. It's that dry, plastic, weird taste that seems to come from plastic tips sometimes but can come from anywhere I guess. It lingers though. After the juice taste fades away....it stays as a lingering aftertaste.

edit:----the second one is not nearly as bad as the first. It's there because I'm highly sensitized to it's presence now but nothing that strikes me like the first one.

My meter was reading high too- then I checked my meter leads touching the probes together- it was reading .4 ohms ! So now i double-check my meter too  My meter has also a low-ohm setting, so I got out my needle-tip piercing probes and get .1 ohm meter-lead resistance. When I measure my two eGo Vision cartos, I get [1.9 and 1.7 ] - .1= 1.8 and 1.6 ohms. so i dunno... i would prefer a little higher but it's working well for me so far. On certain juices it's a little hot on KGO and about right on Echo for me . :2c:

About the plastic taste on first fill. I found the same thing with mine. If you smell the carto right out of the package, it is quite apparent. The smell could also be from the adhesive since the assembly uses glue in several spots.

When I get the next batch in, I'm going to open up all the packages so they have time to air out. What definitely does work though is to rinse them out with Vodka or Whiskey first.

mmmmm....I did that and it helped very little. The second one wasn't as bad. I was aware of it but it didn't overpower the juice like the first one. The first one left such a bad taste and it stayed with me all day long. It even crept back after brushing my teeth! I'm going to drain it completely and see if a vodka flush works. Maybe forcing the vodka in and through it will wash away some of the nastiness. I'd hate to throw it away.

Nah. Mine was not horrible or anything, just had kind of, well a plastic smell.

On three of the four I have in rotation, it was gone after the first tank or two. On the fourth, I rinsed it out with Bourbon and it was perfecto right away. I chose Bourbon rather than vodka since I use it to thin my Boba's Bounty.

I'm sure of my 2.6 reading, but dang!! I wish mine were 1.8! I've always thought the vapor was too cool on these things. 1.8ish would be perfect (I'm on an ego as well)

If you don't have a leaky cart, the occasional drop may be condensation buildup. It fills everywhere and I see it on all large cartomizers. A toot with the button off every couple of pulls clears out most of it. It's another reason to like clearos. The condensation doesn't wind up reabsorbing into the filler and sogging it up.
