Why aren't these LR single hole, laser drilled cartos not working?

So you have questions, this is the one i feel hasn't been answered, it's also the simplest, the hole is most likely too small for the juice you use, the fix for this is simple take a finishing nail and a hammer and slightly increase the hole, this will improve the transfer from the tank to the carto's polyfil. Also with tanks taking a hard dry pull (with out firing the device) will help to keep the carto filled with juice.

You also asked why they give PG/VG ratios if there isn't a sweet spot, well there is for each person, but not really for hardware, yes some ratio's work better than others with certain hardware, for carto tanks higher PG works better if you have a single punched carto, you want higher VG for double(or more) punched carto's.

PG is what gives us the throat hit and carries the flavor, some people like in your face flavor and throat hit so they go with high PG juice, PG is also very thin, which is why single punched carto's work best, other wise you end up with flooded carto's which gurgle and hardly produce anything at all.

VG is what gives us the clouds, but it also mutes flavor so you need a very strong or extra flavor in high VG juice. VG is also very thick which is why double(or more) punched carto's work better with VG, also tends to have wicking issues with top coils like the Vivi Nova and Clearomizers. Some venders have found ways to thin VG which lets them work better in such devices.

LR is between i feel 1.5 and 1.9ohm, SR(Standard resistance) 2.0 and 2.5ohm, HR 3+ ohms.

Now for the advice section, even though with as frustrated as you have been i probably shouldn't say this.

Look at genesis style rebuildables, things like the Zenesis (costly and almost impossible to get) but there are many others like the DID and various clones of it.
You want simple, high capacity, fill and go, for me the easiest simplest no hassle i've found is a Reo bottom feeder, yes they can seem expensive but I've never broken one and I am not kind to my devices, get an atomizer a 1.5ohm 510 or 306 and whatever juice you want and you are set to go after batteries and charger.
You can also get rebuildable atomizer's which are similiar to the genesis style rebuildables, but have no tank like the genesis do, but there are only a couple that work with bottom feeders right now, but if you want to look into a cheaper startup cost you could looke the pheonix rebuildable atomizer.

now I'll explain atomizers just because I can, Atomizers are basically nothing more than a heating coil that the juice goes onto, be it from dripping from the top or bottom feed through the connector, you don't have the polyfil that tends to mute flavors.

ok that is all for now, hopefully i answered some questions.

You & me both! This pretty much sums it up for MOST of the World!

lol speek fo yo self! god i think the best part of this is how much there is to actually play with, it would be so boring if you actually could walk into a shop and all they had was one tank one mod and 2 juices. lol (like one of our local shops)

but is doesnt mean you HAVE to there is already too much stuff that just works why not try that?, dont think a carto tank is best for someone new who has no interest in figuring out how many holes- how big are the holes what ohm coils etc.

It can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, particularly when you first start out. When I started out last year, I found I was making very expensive mistakes.

Things like ohms are kinda confusing if you're not an electricity buff. I mean, bigger ohms = better right? I know I'm not stupid but there's a lot to get your head around in the early days. Right now I'm just about comfortable with my set up but that doesn't mean I would necessarily know where to go from here if my situation changed.

Has anyone thought of making a 'Vaping for Dummies' video for Youtube? I'm talking really, really basic without being patronizing. The video might last an hour or have a series of shorter ones but I'm sure it might actually help some people. I mean, there are people out there who might like to try it but feel confused and overwhelmed by the variety available to them (just like I did, and occasionally still do). Yes, it is very subjective as to what people need but some form of easy to access and understand guide might not go a-miss. The whole forum could be in on this- 'things I wish I'd known when I started vaping' etc etc... A comparison between types could be made- advantages of tanks, cartomisers, clearomisers etc, a comparison between batteries but always leave it up to the individual as to their choice for what will suit them... 'This battery would suit around a 30 per day smoker but this battery is quite heavy. Yes a disposable might look like a real cigarette and might be an interesting introduction for you but in the long run, it's going to be expensive and a bit rubbish.' A text version could also be made available on the forum to encourage more people in and to ask further questions, but to act as a reference point later on.

Some people pick things up quicker than others. Some people have more time to devote to finding out about vaping whereas others have very little spare time to research these things in great depth. Some people really don't have the spare cash to make too many mistakes (who does?!). There is certainly a LOT of support in this forum and I could ask you all question after question...perhaps if I hadn't taken the leap, I'd still be asking you questions about purchasing my first PV and starting out. But with the wealth of knowledge that you all have, couldn't you put your heads together and make a really, really easy to read/watch/whatever, comprehensive guide and independent of suppliers to help newbies? Anyone up for that?x

there are already 500 videos and articles on how to get started. problem is like everything else it takes effort to find them and patiently try to understand what they are talking about. i say to my friend, got a new carto, whats a carto, a tank with a little wire coil in it like a light bulb, after a certain point you just cant break it down anymore, and some people don't or won't take time to learn.

I love pc's couldnt dtand the thought of buying one prebuilt - how many people can you think of that go to walmart and say oo this must be good the guy said so.

The same thing that makes us awesome as a species can in some circumstances also be a drawback.
I'm talking about adaptability.

I truly believe you can no longer taste your beloved Blue Raspberry as well as you used to.
Its sad, but it happens.

I DIY a lot of my juice.
2 days ago, I created the most sublime Strawberries & Cream flavor. I was truly in bliss.
Today I swear I cannot taste it for the life of me. At all. I dripped a drop on my tongue (it's 0 nic, VG based) and yes, the flavor is still there, but it is not present when I vape. All I smell is the dried spittle on my drip tip (gross, I know, I'm sorry).

Now mind you, I've been vaping for over a year now, and I can tell you honestly that the "I can't taste my juice" doldrums come back and haunt you every once in a while.

The way to deal with it is:
Find a strong contrasting flavor, like a mint or a cinnamon, as a previous poster suggested.
Use a tongue scraper and scrub the heck out of your tongue. And no, I'm not insinuating anything about your personal hygiene.
Drink lots of water. But you already knew that.

Lastly, VG puts out much more vapor, but deadens flavor and throat hit considerably. PG gives you great throat hit and flavor, but much less vapor. That is why we usually go for a mixture of both. My favorite is 70%PG and 30%VG as I find it a suitable compromise.

I am now back to my DIY cheesecake, which is what I started out with last year and thought I would never be able to taste again. Flavor rotation is crucial. Best of luck to you!

All I can say is DITTO!

Me too!

Yeah - ok some of us want and or need the plainest language. I get that.
but smoking is not vaping and it does require some thinking and adjusting. part of that adjustment is to realize that it is more complex than smoking. Nothing is easier than just lighting a stinky.
but gawd it tastes awful!
the learning curve seems tough but it is so worth it!

I vaped at a
BB king concert last night! Talk about cool!

WOW!

You cant do that with a cig. Imagine doing your favorite things and never having to leave for a fix. Thats worth the effort. Really.

I totally get what the OP is saying. That's what has been the most frustrating part of all this. Reading a lot of these posts is like reading a foreign language and it doesn't help that I have the attention span of a gnat either. I have trouble focusing on things I don't understand. Yes there are a ton of video's but I have yet to see 1 that is a vaping for dummies type. Most are reviews and I've actually learned a lot from them but there have actually been some that I shut off because it was all technical stuff that I didn't understand. Some posts I tell the hubs come read this then explain it to me in plain English.

I am still looking for nirvana, but until I find that vape that actually tastes good to me I try to remind myself that it's better than the alternative. I don't ever want to go back to smoking even if that means vaping this flavor forever. But even my favorite Starbucks flavor tastes nasty after a while.

Questions: Why aren't these LR single hole, laser drilled cartos not working?
What is the best way to run a carto?
How do I tell the difference between HR and LR?
What is polyfill?
How do I get the most out of cartos?
Is pyrex different delrin? What is better?
How do these passthrough batts work? Why don't they sound like they are firing my cartos?
Are drip tips only function to make it easier to vape? or are some brands actually better for vape production and flavor?

Before I answer I will ask you to read the whole of my answers, this is not a class in chinese, these are some widely agreed statements about vaping.
Question 1.Because they are not the right ohm load for your specific device. In some way they are not correct. What Is wrong is yet to be answered completely but YOU will have to try a few things to determine What the issue actually Is. .... .. A cheap kmart/walmart/radioshack Multimeter would be a great investment for you. I know you dont WANT an electromechanics lesson but you need to have some working knowledge of this in order to be able to know how to remedy Yourself of issues now and in the future. A $20 multimeter will Help You find those answers. Your LR could be Dual Coil(most popular is 1.5Ω) but they will pretty much suck on your 3.4v-4.2v eGo t upgrade. Single coil LR could be almost anything under 2.4Ω but most popular two are 1.7Ω and 2.0Ω. These values must either be stated on the box, or verified with a meter. No two ways about it. Every vaper should own a meter(you included). On to suggestions...... On your eGo t upgrade I would recommend either the 1.7Ω or 2Ω single coil BECAUSE either option will yield you the option of being able to vape in the "sweet spot" of between ~6-10Watts. This power range is widely agreed across many many users as being most enjoyable for their personal styles on a single coil carto....... Being that your unit has the ability to switch between a regulated3.4v to the unregulated(full charged)4.2v. I will not leave you with a formula, you dont need that, you just need a great vape. I suspect you have a dual coil cartomizer, and you HAD a single coil cartomizer. Thus the surprising difference in total vapor satisfaction.

2. On a battery of some kind. Preferably with liquid inside the filler material........ Seriously, there is no real Wrong way, as long as it works well for you and doesn't burn too hot or cold and you can keep it topped up with liquid there is no bad way to do it.

3. With a Meter. The only way to know for certain is with a meter. You will want to touch the threads that screw into the battery with one test lead and the center hole contact with the other, With the meter set to Ω scale.

4. Polyfill Is Polyester Fiber Filler material, most commonly used in pillows/blankets/coats home air filters and many many other things...

5. Keep them moist, keeping a carto filled is the best way to get the most use out of them, Once they begin to give less flavor/vapor they can be cleaned, there are many tutorials on this should you choose to undertake that task.

6. Pyrex is high temp glass, delrin is high temp plastic. Neither is better than the next specifically, It is a matter of preference. Wether it a tank or a drip tip this is in reference to. Both of these options would be resistant to degredation from flavors such as cinnamon or high acid juices like lemonade versus the basic polycarbonate carto tanks.

7. Most pass throughs are regulated, and require a high power usb to run them correctly. Not like the one on your computer, one like a wall outlet powered brick. Most passthroughs are usually regulated to 3.4v. If you are accustomed to the higher unregulated voltage of the eGo t upgrade then this may be the difference you are experiencing.

8. In my opinion a Drip tip's main purpose is to make it easier to dip into your device, a side bonus is that they are normally more comfortable than the stark edge of the cartomizer. I have never seen a driptip that had a hole small enough to adversly effect vapor production, and i dont see any way that they could make a certain device produce more output.

In closing I also feel like you need to shop around for a Great liquid supplier. That can make liquid just for you..... The way you like , the concentration of flavor you like, the percentages you like. It seems that your local person doesn't have what you enjoy, or doesnt have enough options available for you personally. You should include VG to some extent(~20-30%) in your mix, it will make more visible vapor but will diminish flavor somewhat. (If you would like more explanation of PG/VG or anything else feel free to PM me) I have no good suggestions for vendors..... unless you need advice on making your own liquids.

These are the growing pains, I remember experiencing almost every complaint that you currently have right around the two month mark. I did not want to go back to smoking. I don't feel that you do either. Things do get easier the more you learn. These things are pretty simple devices..... a battery, heater coil, liquid.......There are variables but there are also these three constants. If you can stick with it and get it right for you then you can be right back in vape heaven.... Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Dude, can someone give me the science behind this. How is it possible that after a few days of vaping one sublime liquid it literally no longer has a taste on your tongue. I didn't believe the first guy because it was one guy. But now that it's several people saying this how is it possible?! That's so wild that a flavor can actually deactivate on your tongue. I'm drunk now so I'm a bit happier.

Ahhh haaa and here lies the answer to all of it " i dont want to learn nothing" i want to walk in the door of some retail shop and have them hand me vaping nirvana, why should I have to actually learn something.

stuff like ohms is so simple it hurts lower is hotter. higher is cooler.
I used an ecig batt with a small tank for like almost 3 months it worked fine people want better it doesnt mean we NEED better.

I love that there's is almost endless customizability, I really do. But for first timers I feel like there should be a formula that is cheap and ultimately leads them to a better mod that isn't that much more expensive and equally customizable. Wouldn't that be great? Because so many old smokers and young smokers and smart smokers and not-so-smart smokers are looking for everything we are looking for: Happy, taste good, healthy, effective ways to smoke. So if there was (X batt with N tank and Y cart with J, L, or M juice) then this movement could overtake the cigarette industry in 3 years, tops.

It's like when you buy a new cologne, and you use it sparingly, because you find it pretty strong. You use it daily.
As time goes by, you no longer find it as strong, so you might use a bit more (to others' possible dismay) because you find it doesn't last throughout the day.
Newsflash: It hasn't changed. You have grown too accustomed to it to notice.
Same thing with vaping. You "taste" your juice more with your nose than with your tongue. Which is why you can hardly taste anything when you have a cold.

More awesome serious and real information. This is the .... I've been searching for on other threads and pulling my hair out because I can't find it. BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY CONTINUE TO POST ON THIS THREAD IN ANSWERING QUESTIONS TO US NOT-SO-SMART VAPERS!!!!!!!!! Here's a question I bet every single new vaper in the world is asking when they first get their shi t bottle of juice. Why in the hell is one juice bad and another ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I've had lemonade and it tastes like urine (don't ask) I've had margarita and it tastes like alcohol, I've had cheesecake and it tastes like molten plastic (but not from screwing up carto filling). BUT! I've had a strawberry nana that makes me sweat with joy. I've had a blue raspberry that literally tastes better than the candy. I've had a margarita that tastes like a ....ing margarita. And I've had a watermelon that tasted like a .......n jolly rancher. So why is it that some are good and some are bad? An even weirder question, why is it that I can buy a flavor (take blue rasp, as it's my favorite of all time) and love it, then a week later buy THE SAME FLAVOR FROM THE SAME COMPANY WITH THE SAME NIC LEVEL WITH THE SAME AMOUNT BOTTLE and it tastes like ....? How is that possible?

hahahahahahaha! So is that the same as eating mashed potatoes everyday for a week? Or ramen? Because I've eaten ramen everyday for a week and can still taste ramen pretty damn easily without it losing a molecule of flavor. So why is it only with vaping?

hahahahahahaha! So is that the same as eating mashed potatoes everyday for a week? Or ramen? Because I've eaten ramen everyday for a week and can still taste ramen pretty damn easily without it losing a molecule of flavor. So why is it only with vaping?

OMG I <3 ramen!!!
Don't know if I could eat ramen as much as I vape, though.
Still would taste just like saltwater if I had a cold. ;)
As for the why a juice would taste great, while the same juice would taste awful...
Might have to do with how the planets were aligned the day they made it, IDK.
I know, I'm just being silly, now. It's late and I'm tired, so I'll pass the baton now!
Seeyatomorrow! :)

I get the planets aligned thing completely. It makes no sense to me! It must be some weird conspiracy where george bush knows that some people are spending something on vaping (being G dub, I don't know what his interests are, and neither do you, besides ranches) he contacts exxon or cheney and tells them to flex their muscle against a juice maker, BUT only the ones that are good, and makes them put little to no flavor, JUST TO .... WITH ME OR YOU.
