Hey peeps. Im really interested in re wicking and re coiling my t3' and nova's. However I have NO idea where to begin. Can somebody lead me in the right direction as far as which type wicking material and which gauge wire to buy? Im clueless at this point! Any help would be greatly appreciated! !

i went with 32awg kanthal a1 and 3mm silica wick for my vivi nova's. its really quite easy, there are plenty of youtube vids that can help. i would puchase atleast 20' of wire and 30' of wick. i do a 5/6 wrap meaning when looking at the coil you will see 5 wraps on bottom 6 wraps on top. i usually come out to 2.2 - 2.4 ohms. i hope this helps! vape on! :toast:

The gauge of wire, really depends on your taste, if you like lower resistance than you would want a bigger wire - lower gauge, if higher resistance then higher gauge, on average my coils I make with 32 gauge kanthal and cotton end up around 2.3-2.6 ohm resistance. I prefer cotton as to me it makes the vapor a little thicker and creamier IMO. really the best is to just play around with some different wick sizes and materials till you find what you like. If using silica wicks I tend to like using multiple smaller wicks than one big one. I mainly use 1mm or smaller, .8mm and then uselike 3-4 strands to make them. Another trick is to use something like toothpick of paper clip to wrap your coils. I use a straightened paper clip on mine, you just place you wicks on the paperclip or whatever you choose and wrap a good 4-6 coils fairly tight. Cotton expands a little more so I wrap those looser than norm. Good luck and if the first one doesnt work right try and try til you figure out what works for you.

If it is burnt tasting - coils too tight
If it doesnt really do anything or just a dry hit -> too loose

Be careful when cutting slit like in the vid above, it is a really small slit, otherwise it will flood.

But other than that practice, practice, practice.

.............................Hey man !.

Cut the ends off a cue tip and cut the remaining tube down to about an inch in length. Slice the inch long tube length ways with a blade. Open it out flat and trim about two millimetres off lenghtways to reduce the diameter of the tube. Place wick into open tube and close around the wick and roll between fingers to make it tight. Get two more cue tips and cut the ends off. Slide each tube over the ends of the tube with the wick in to keep it nice and tight. Wrap your wire round the split tube that has the wick in six times making sure you have enough excess wire at either ends to thread into the housing of your T3 etc. Remove the tubes from either end then slide the coil off of the split tube and onto the wick. Now just insert the ends of the wire into the housing and out the other end, and slide the rubber grommit onto one of the ends then fold the excess wire over the bottom of the base to keep it all in place. Push the contact pin into the grommit and replace it into the housing. Gently pull the wires to take up the slack in the wire created when you placed the grommit into the housing. Now cut off excess wire and test your creation with a multimeter.
