Usually when I get a new mod, I'll vape it for a day or two and then go back to my VS rDNA40 and DNA30. My Hana mini 30w clone has seen very little use since I got it (and the 1 full day I vaped it) mostly because of the delay to fire from sleep. The Cloupor Mini has it too but with 2 min to sleep and .8 sec wake, it's much less intrusive.

After about 18 months of vaping (and buying all my "stuff") from the internet)...I think I'm finally going to have to go to a B&M.

I liked the idea of the Clouper Mini (about the same size as my iSticks but with a replaceable 18650) when I first ran across it's description. I followed the Clouper Mini thread for weeks. But then posters started receiving their pre-orders and there were a good number of people writing "I hate the delay" and "If I had known about the delay I never would have ordered it". So...I threw it off "my list".

Now...you're saying (I think) that the delay is not intrusive.

Thus...guess I now gotta go to a B&M to see if the delay would effect me!!??!!

I've been following the Cloupor Mini ever since after the New Year, and it was looking good (the delay doesn't bother me, we are creatures of habits, and habits can be trained) until this melting/fire business.

I have another one for your list. It is put out by HeatVape. Called the Invader Mini. Says it is waterproof and up to 50w. Looks interesting.

The size and having a 18650 battery was the big draw for me as well. I loved the size of the Istick but the honeymoon was short lived as the 510 was flaky within 2 weeks for me. It didn't help that I was using atomizers with various lengths. Lifting the 510 pin helped but was a pain in the .... every time I swapped atomizers.

I was very vocal about the delay because I hate it and some blew me off as it was no big deal. I still think it's absolutely dumb of manufacturers to have this delay, especially Cloupor when it was one of the biggest complaints about their Hana clones so they got rid of it (I have 2 of their clones and they don't have a delay). My FT Hana mini clone has a full one second delay and it goes to sleep in 1 min so I'm always waking it before taking a puff which gets old fast and the main reason I don't use it much (2nd candidate for a DNA40 transplant). With a 2 min to sleep, it's easier to keep it awake and it has a .8 sec to wake which is surprisingly easier to deal with than a 1 sec wake in everyday use. It's still intrusive but not as bad.

Overall, I think it's the best small budget mod out now and I would recommend it (even with the delay :D).

As a bleeding heart liberal it pains me to agree with Fox News

As a bleeding heart liberal, the thing that should really pain you is that the only liberal on the show says that vaping looks creepy and that Greg should quit like she did--overnight. Willpower.

BTW, Fox has been pro-vaping for years; John Stossel and Gutfeld have been the most vocal on the subject. I wish other networks would say something positive about vaping, once in a while. :)

Oops... That's not good.

Thanks for sharing.
I have the cloupor mini and it is the best mini out today. How hard would it be for a competitor to put in a battery backwards and mess it up ? I noticed the poster never answered any questions about his mini. I haven't yet seen this by a USA poster .

It is a bit suspicious but Cloupor has admitted that out of 100,000, there were about 40-50 claims of fire. I've heard of the conspiracy theories about competitors' employees posting it too.

The Mini has reverse polarity protection so that wouldn't cause it. It doesn't seem to be linked to batteries or charging.

I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but of course anything is possible. But Cloupor does admit that it happens.

There is no proof or indication that this melting had anything to do with reverse polarity protection, though.

The conspiracy theories were a stretch, I thought too.

For the sake of curiosity, I did put my battery in reverse and connected it to a 1.8a usb charger and nothing happened. Put the battery back normally and it still works. No smoke or flames.

Doesn't really matter if the cause is the reverse polarity protection circuit, the charging circuit, the chipset itself, or just poor assemble. The major problem is the results of the failure, the mod is heating up sufficiently to melt the innards, a real fire potential.

Electronic circuits fail in all sorts of products all the time.
Failures that cause high heat, melting, possible fire are simply poorly engineered.

I agree. What's really weird is how most liberals are pro weed which is much more dangerous since it's combustion but alot are down on ecigs. We're definitely in some strange twilight zone here.
