I automatically pick it up and hold it screen away thumb on button, but it's a lot more comfortable the other way, so when I remember, I use my index finger on the button. If I remember to pick it up that way to begin with, there's less fiddling to get to holding it in a way that's ready to fire.

It seems made for finger rather than thumb.

As long as we're on thumb vs. finger, which hand do you vape with, and are you right or left handed? For example, I'm left handed, but seem to always vape with my right hand, thumb on button.

I washed all the parts that I could get apart (5) on the Melo III, and having rinsed the coil head, it seems to have absorbed a lot of water.

I've been trying to vape with it and done it a real lot. It is excruciatingly slow at evaporating the water, and it still is far from vape ready.

I'm gonna try the other head and not rinse it, first....

I tried the .5ohm coil without rinsing it first. Very little vapor until I start upping it to around 20 watts. Everything about it seems to be made for direct lung hits, which I'm not interested in. Luckily, this Pico works great with my tanks made for low wattage, and I'm getting a little more comfortable holding it. I seem to be using my middle finger on the button, mostly.

I got my Provari 2.5 mini and've been fooling around with it. Works great with my ego tanks, and for now at least, it feels less foreign to me than the Pico. It seems, though, that after getting more acclimated to the Pico, that one will feel better than the Provari.

Next I need to find the right rebuildable stuff. For me that would be ones made for mouth to lung hits, and very low wattage friendly.

I still don't know the difference between RBA, RDA, and whatever else there is that's rebuildable.

Yeah, don't do that with the coil head or anything with cotton :- )

You might consider another tank that has a higher resistance coil:

The 19mm is the 'shorty'. 2.5ml
GS Air 2 Atomizer (16.5/19mm)
GS Air 2 19mm - Eleaf Tanks - Eleaf - Tanks & Coils

chose 1.5Ω:
GS Air Atomizer Head (5pcs)
Eleaf GS Air Coils - Eleaf Coils - Eleaf - Tanks & Coils

That would look real nice, but it says "GS Air Coils are for the Eleaf GS Air Tank, intended to be used from 8 - 20 Watts".

If you have one, and have a 1.5 coil, would you be willing to test how well it behaves at 5 watts and at 6 watts? No hurry. My priority is something rebuildable.

Hi Nic. I don't advise vaping 1.5Ω dual coils at 5 watts--this is just unvapable territory. A 1.5Ω dual coil consists of two 3Ω coils, which means you'll be vaping at 2.5 watts (per coil). That just won't work.

Ok, thanks. Never mind, Kent.

So then what I need is an RDA that can handle very low wattage and single coil. A week or two or three ago, there was discussion along those lines in this thread. I'll check it out.

The original Magma might fit the requirements. With airflow closed off on one side, you could probably pull MTL with no issues.

I used to run dual 30ga kanthal builds in it at around 1 ohm, using about 20-25 watts. If you go single coil, a 1.5 ohm coil should work just fine around 10 watts. Even with airflow wide open on both sides, it was a restricted lung hit. With the airflow ring, you can dial it down to 1mm airflow on just one side, which would be perfect for MTL.

BOOM!

I think you would find running 8-10W with that setup is not that different from your eGos - it's where I went from eGos, but if the priority is rebuildable, then that's not the solution.

I need around 5 watts. Willing to go to 6.

I like how if I keep the nic% high enough, I end up going thru vey little juice, and take in a lot less PG and VG per nicotine intake. Plus battery life extended. Frugal, and possibly healthier.

I use kanger single coil 2.5ohm coils that are almost always actually 2.6 or a bit higher.

Do you still ever use egos?

Rarely. Wife still does, but also runs the eleaf mini 20W - at 8watts and the Heatvape Defender 25W at 9 or 10W. I run one Defender for my lightest flavor at 8Watts. Espresso at 12.5-13. So much depends on flavor strength.

I've started creeping back to vaping some flavors, recently. I still like flavorless best, though.

That's 4.3 watts. That's really, really low. You like it that low? It's almost at the lowest workable wattage for appropriate vaporization of eliquid. I consider myself a low-wattage vaper, but I need at least 6-6.5 watts (per single coil). Interesting.
