That little sucker has ALWAYS appealed to me, but the internal battery killed it for me. I trust my CFIV's to death (bad choice of words), but I prefer to avoid them if possible.
The new one is going to be VERY tough for me to ignore. Although I don't get all weak-in-the-knees at a click, but he's always had a click-fetish, so I understand...

I still don't see hardly any people around here vaping out in public. They may be around...but they are keeping a low profile because I sure am not seeing 'em! Vape shops, however, do seem to be springing up all over. We didn't have any at all in this part of town just 3 years ago. Now I've spotted 2 news ones along the same main thoroughfare in Orange Park. For this town, that is some progress!
I teach at a university. Out of a class of 30, 4 have "come out" as vapers. One of my students actually worked at the B&M where I bought my first non-cigalike device. If I think back (nearly 3 years ago), he kinda looks familiar...

This is where I saw my 1st e-Cigarette.
I was standing on the edge of a Parking Lot talking with some of my students smoking a cigarette. And I kept Noticing this Blue Light in my peripheral vision. It was kinda Annoying because ever time I would turn and Look, this student would be pulling his hand down and Exhaling.
Finally saw him Actually taking a Hit and realized that the Blue Light was coming from the End of his "Cigarette".
That was back in Mid 2009. Man... Things sure have Changed Since Then.
It's funny, but we learned last night that I began buying ecigs in November, 2009. I never stopped smoking, so I never really tracked or thought about it. It came up in conversation, and I was as stunned as @Katdarling , when I reviewed my purchases (in Quicken) as we spoke. She was almost screaming at me. "You began vaping in 2009?????"
I said that no, I began vaping in 2011. I used e-cigs in 2009. And as we all know, there's quite a difference.
I continued for almost a full year, with my final purchase taking place in October, 2010. I spent (wasted) $1,860 on that garbage (although it DID help me to cut down while I used it), and never really thought about it again. Until last night. Go figure.
It changes nothing in my life, as I still consider my true "start date" as 13-Nov-11. Because THAT was when my life truly changed.

I left a device in the bar. ONCE. Once was enuf. I abstolutely panicked when I realized it was not in my purse. We ran back to get it, and thankfully it WAS there. The mod was a 20$ nothing, but I'm pretty sure I had MUCH more than that invested in the tank and drip tip and jewelry!
I guess if anyone saw it (back in those days), they thought it was a garage door opener.
Yeah... I bought my 1st e-Cigarette towards the End of 2009. But I didn't Completely switch until around the Middle of 2010. After buying a Few More starter kits.
Those Original Carts/Atty's were a PITA to get them to work Reliably. And at times, seemed to have a Degree of Demonic Possession. Either wanting to Flood. Or to Dry Hit. Or to Leak.
I was Lucky in a Way. Because I REALLY Wanted to Quit Smoking. I mean Really Wanted to Quit. And was willing to put up with all the BS that my e-Cigarettes would throw at me. Knowing that if I could just "Get it Down", that I could switch.
We started in 2009 because of a friend that bought one of everything and set us up with the best at that time. I gave up with the fuss in 2010 and smoked for a while. Quit cold turkey in April and went back in Sept when I was losing my job. Tried again in Dec 2013 when the wife's COPD was getting bad and found how much things had changed. And it's still changing.
I never saw an ecig before I started. I saw a post in another forum discussing RYO which I was into and someone said 'ecigarettes are the future' - I PM'd him to ask about them - did a google search - found some vendors (it wasn't easy) and found ECF. I loved smoking - was into the smoker's rights movement and if someone were to ask my friends "Out of all the smokers you know, who would be the most likely never to quit?" they all would have answered: "Kent" :- )
I ordered a supermini cigalike (from a vendor who I learned later was from a parent firm - Gamucci UK - one of the first ecig companies outside of China) - and then from ECF info ordered a Janty Dura C - 510 - before the supermini arrived The supermini (4081) was not impressive vapor-wise and few days later the 510 arrived. The vapor was much better and I thought - hmmm, I could possibly do this instead, so I had a plan When the urge came (I was a 3PAD smoker, so that was frequent :- ) ... I'll hit the ecig for three hits and if I still want a cigarette, I'll have one. Again, I never intended to quit smoking. Never went through the patches, gum, snus (didn't know what they were), and when I hit the ecig and the nic got to the blood stream, I was 'good'..... June 18th 2009 and haven't had a puff of a cigarette since.
For about 1 year, I never saw another ecig except one at Disney WDW and for about another year, never saw one around here - rural NW Ohio near Toledo - so not so 'surprising' But began seeing more on vacations Hawaii, Florida, East Coast, So. Cal. For the last two years I see them all the time 'in town' and many in cars - I've gotten dozens of family, friends and acquaintances to start and continue to vape - some are still dual users but the majority are vapers only.
I'm sure there are a lot of members here who have and have done the same - perhaps different time frames. I've enjoyed all of your stories!

I'm about to change positions at work from being on the road, and able to vape and drive like I used to smoke, to staying in the warehouse. Not sure what I am going to do vape wise. I know I can go longer without vaping than I ever did smoking. Most old timers know I quit smoking but I've kept the vaping incognito. I don't want to hear the "that's gonna blow up" or "that stuff is worse than smoke" or "I thought you quit?"
I just got a subox mini and definitely get more nic per hit that before, so maybe I can survive on quick hits.

I love that TVR girl. She occupies space in my juice-box constantly.
And grab yourself a Billet Box, stick it in your pants pocket, and sneak a vape whenever you can. It even comes with a built-in "silencer" (that I happen to use often during a workday.

I switched to a non-combustible alternative, free of carcinogens, tar, and toxins. So yes, I quit SMOKING.
