Help me out here and stay with me for this might be a long shot but recently me & all my buddies have been noticing our bottles of juice getting more & more viscious. Our shop stocks mod fuel & has been for coming up half a year and we've been buying Redstone & Javelin the most. I understand some juices say max VG and could be 80/20 from flavorings&nicotine base but recently its starting to look like its almost as low as 50/50. Anybody ever heard of this stuff happening?

It can happen. The shop that I frequent, had bought it out from a previous owner. Along with the shop, the owner gave all his recipes, so that his customers can still get their favorite flavors from the new owners. Now, the guy claimed his juices were 90vg/10pg. I had visited only once, as the shop conditions were deplorable. Turns out, he added water to all his juices.

Not to state the obvious but...
Since it's a larger brand...buy from another vendor and compare.
Perhaps Spring and warmer temps play a part?

ETA: WOW.. the Mod fuel website is HORRIBLE and useless.
I would not give them one $$/££/€€.

The cost of ingredients of e liquid is very low, a few pennies per ml. "Diluting" the liquid wouldn't save any money. Ingredients for my DIY liquid cost 1.2 cents per ml.

It's approaching summer. Temperatures and the humidity are going up.
You live near a large body of water,Lake Michigan. Wisconsin receives
32 inches of rain on average per year.
PG and VG are hygroscopic and absorb water from the air in direct
relation ship to the relative humidity. With temperatures between 60
and 80 degrees F and, a relative humidity of 30% your juice can have
between 8.xx and 9.xx% water content. Juice thins out when temperature rises.
Mother Nature is diluting your juice.

When I am in a mood to make my juice with 10% PG I always add about 5% of water - otherwise wicking is terrible. Water is usual ingredient in high-VG juices.

Adding water is not the problem. Adding it without the customers knowledge or consent is.

Adding water is not the problem. Adding it without the customers knowledge or consent is.
Water in most cases is considered an inert ingredient and is non alergenic.
If its not an active ingredient its not required to be listed in small amounts
and generally isn't unless it constitutes a significant portion of the product
or is required to be for whatever reason. In the case of e-juice PG and VG
are hygroscopic and absorb water relative to the relative humidity in the
air and water content cannot be guaranteed anyway. When your juice says
70%PG/30%VG the actual ratio of these two ingredients is correct.
Some labeling of course is quite accurate accounting for the % of flavorings
and distilled water and such. Some not so much. Consent is not the issue.
most if not all e-juice is going to have 2-3 % water content naturally.
it depends on atmospheric conditions.

Mike
