Let me preface this with: I love my MVP 2 to death and have my spinners as backups but let's be realistic. Eventually the batteries will no longer hold a charge. I am a little worried about possible upcoming regulations but not terribly worried just yet.
For this reason, I am interested in searching for a PV for long term. I know there are many options and a whole world of devices that have easily replaceable batteries. I prefer vv/vw styles but these often require electronics. Electronics eventually break down. I am fearful of going for the well known vv/vw mods (innokin/provari etc.) because there is a possibility that the chips will fail over time. My thought being: just because you can replace with new batteries does not guarantee a long term use device of 5-10 years or even a lifetime.
With that said, are my fears irrational with devices that offer replaceable batteries but still have more advanced electronics in them? Should I go mech mod? I have tried finding info on mechs but get terribly confused with all of them. I've searched videos and threads and remain confused. I don't intend to ever go below 1-1.2 ohms. Are all batteries/mechs relatively safe at this level and above? Does anyone recommend a specific decent beginner/inexpensive mech mod? Kicks with vv/vw potential? I guess I'm just looking for a helpful insight or guide into beginning the climb into this new section of the learning curve. Possibly even recommendations for a starter kit.
I'm hoping this is the right section to post this. If not appropriate for here, mods, please feel free to move.
