Hey everyone, thought I'd say hi after finally registering an account. I've been pouring over threads here for the last couple of months, trying to get a handle on the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to vaping. I had been smoking cigarettes off and on, but mostly on, for the last 20 years. A pack a day or more for the last 3 years for sure.

A friend of mine gave me a voodoo ego battery and a cartomizer about a month ago, and I haven't had a paper cigarette in about 3-4 weeks. It feels good to be off of them, to not smell like them, and to recognize I don't even like the flavor of tobacco. I don't think I ever did. I like puffing, and I like the buzz, but I don't think I've ever enjoyed the flavor or scent, I just somehow put up with it.

Right off the bat, I was dissatisfied with the kit that my buddy gave me. The cartos leaked, the battery ran out when I needed it most, and I started with two flavors I now realize I dislike, tobacco and menthol. My first purchases ended up being a kanger genitank mini and a bottle of Philip Rock Octo at a local shop.... what a difference. All of a sudden I wanted to know more about the juices and gear, and have had to really limit myself from buying a bunch of things to try. I have a ton of questions, and don't want to end up with a toolbox full of different toys and dozens of bottles... I'd like to keep it simple.

I may need to start some other threads to get more specific info, but I figured I'd start by listing off what I have now, and what I'd like to end up with...

I now have

2 small voodoo ego batteries + charger
1 Kanger Genitank Mini
1 Kanger EMOW Kit with 1.5ohm coils
2 16.8mm beauty rings that fit the EMOW battery
3 spare 1.5ohm kanger coils (2 holes per side version)
1 Stainless and pyrex drip tip
1 Wide Stuff Black plastic drip tip
A selection of 12mg juices from VaporBomb (12mg, 70%vg/30%pg - mango, spearmint, pineapple, jungle juice, green apple)
I also have a Cloupor M4 (which is truly unimpressive, but works ok when freshly cleaned)

I like the EMOW kit a lot.
I like that it uses the same coils as the Genitank Mini.
Both of them produce plenty of vapor for me.
Neither of them hold enough juice for how I'd like to use them.
I end up charging all 3 batteries every day. I don't want to be doing this.
I need to fill tanks all the time. Don't need the mess.
I've found I prefer the wide stuff drip tip. The others look great, but I like the wide mouth black plastic. it's better for me all around.

I destroyed the first coil on the higher voltage setting... now realize I'm better off vaping at a lower voltage with the 1.5ohm coil. Honestly I don't think the coils seem that great, easy to burn, short lifespan, but I don't have anything to compare to besides the Voodoo cartomizer I tried. I've read a ton of things, and realize that for 2 bucks each, the coils aren't so bad.... if money were no object right now, I'd like to try naturevape coils in it. (changing out cotton is fine, but I wouldn't want to be building coils from scratch all the time, just not what I want this to be for myself. I get easily sucked into technical building and design hobbies) I would prefer to only have to buy one kind of coil if possible.

I don't want to get into dripping or rebuildables or expensive mods. I don't need a fashion accessory or a new toy. I just want something other than a cigarette that is reliable and discrete. I already have a hard enough time limiting my nicotine intake... don't want to vape more, or spend more on liquids, if I can manage it.

I would like to end up with more battery capacity and a couple more tanks. I want at least one large tank for a favorite flavor at home, and then a couple of others for other flavors. I've been considering getting another EMOW kit, or a Vision Spinner 2 and a tank... open to suggestions. Would like at least one 3-4ml tank. Want all glass and stainless if possible. I'm considering getting 2 more emow tanks for flavors and a large tank for around the house. again, open to suggestions. It would be ideal to only have to buy one kind of coil... but not a requirement if there's a good reason to veer away from Kanger. Would love it if it matched up nicely. Aware that the 16.5mm diameter is harder to come by than the larger sizes.

In terms of juices and flavors, I didn't like the tobacco and menthol flavors I tried (EON and Nic-quid) 6mg juice wasn't enough to cure my craving, so I am vaping 12mg.

The Philip Rock Octo is still the "best" thing I've vaped. It just had amazing texture and flavor. Although I've been generally unimpressed with the level of flavor or the texture of the vapor bomb flavors, I've found my current favorite flavor is spearmint, and I could imagine it being my default since it leaves me feeling minty fresh. I like sweet flavors, I prefer the velvety vapor from higher VG juices, I don't care about throat hit. I have been let down with the intensity of all the flavors I've tried, with the exception of the Philip Rock Octo... but even that was great on the first puff from a fresh coil, but started to loose it's umph as the coil went to crap, and is way more expensive than the Vapor Bomb flavors I ordered. I tried a Virgin Vapors blueberry... really didn't think it was very good. Thin and runny, not very sweet, not good mouth feel or texture to the vapor, leaked from the coil on the Genitank. AER mango vaped really nicely, but wasn't high on the flavor or richness. Would love suggestions where to get intense, sweetish flavors that aren't made in someone's basement .... lab, that are quality and cheap. Are my expectations too high?

Well, my fingers are sore from typing and I need to refill the EMOW. Nice to be here.

Cheers!

Welcome! Have you thought about an istick or if you wait a few weeks, a MVP v3?

Hi!

I haven't really considered the non-round batteries. Both because I don't really like the bulk, and because I wouldn't be able to use either of my Genitank Mini or EMOW tanks without an adapter that makes them even taller.

Welcome to ECF!

Have you tried other PR flavors? Carnage from ANML is amazing, Red Vines flavor. His Crem de la Crem is something truly special!

Thanks! I haven't. They look good, but are pricey, so I haven't gotten any more. Would like to find them cheaper than the $14 little dropper.

Welcome to ECF. Good to see you posting. I am going to give you a link to a thread that has lots of basics and a couple of suggestions. I have been vaping for over a year now and truly enjoy it.

I started with 2 Vision Spinner 1300mah batteries and they lasted me all day. One to use while the other was charging. Then I got an MVP2 and it is the best bang for the buck out there, besides the new istick.

Tank wise, I dripped on 510 attys and it is 3 drops at a time so I do not think that is the way to go for you. I build my own coils on Kayfuns and I love it and the taste. I am an old lady so if it is easy for me, it will be easy for you if you choose to go that way. I have heard the Nautilus tank is the way to go with the BVC coils. I have not tried it myself. Just seems to be a good Kanger product, glass tank and good vape.

Good luck and it sounds like you are on the right track. It does take most people several tries of different gear to find what they feel works best for them. Hope the links help you on your search.

Welcome! I started with cheap ego batteries and clearos. Weren't fulfilling, so I went the route of Steven G and got an mvp2 and nautilus. Easy, simple and efficient. Still trying to find my ADV, just got 5 10ml bottles for £5 from a UK store, good strong flavours from them!

The downside to the mvp2? It's not small, or light! But it's regulated, has decent power and a huge battery life!

Glad to hear you're off the stinkies!!!

Before you jump into the RNA/RTA route give the aspire tanks with the BVC coils a go. K1 lacks airflow control and small tank but cheaper then a pack of smokes. The Nautilus is my all day tank coupled with a MVP 2. I drive 12 hours a day in Boston without an analog with that setup. I am quite sure there is a more "satisfying" set up.. like smoking a real Cuban after you smoke $2 a pack cigars. If you are looking for that "Cuban" you will just have to keep throwing money at it till you find you Cuban rolled on virgin thighs.

I have no interest in rebuildables. they look cool, but I am not trying to get giant clouds or anything, I just want consistent, low maintenance puffing. As far as I'm concerned, cloud chasing with nicotine is silly. Not really sure why it's become popular. Anyway, thanks for the encouragment and insight. Even though I'm not a big fan of the box style batteries, maybe that's something to consider.

I've gone from ego batteries to higher capacity batteries and even tried some mech mods with drippers, but since I got my Hana clone I mainly use that or another small regulated box - I also have an MVP2 and an istick. The MVP is a bit of a brick, but a charge lasts forever and it has ego threading for those clearo tanks.
