Love this site just want to mention that first! Can't tell you how helpful it has been with getting informed about the huge variety of e-cigs, and assorted PVs out there on the market... Just a shame i found it a little too late after i spent about $200 buying rotten equipment!

Anyway the real reason I'm posting for the first time (and not lurking like i really enjoy doing) is because I haven'd had an analog in 33 days! It's not a huge amount of time but it is the longest I have went without in easily 15 years. And I have my little 510 to thank for it (thinking I should have went with an ego but hey i can always upgrade). Problem is I'm worried...

REALLY WORRIED! (just naturally tend to be a little anxious and on edge anyway). So I've been reading all the coverage on the FDA letters and whatnot and it has me very concerned. So I have a couple of questions for the ECF gang that might be a little more educated and a little less nervous about this subject than I am...

1. Is the rest of the ECF community worried about the supplies of parts and juice "drying up"?
2. Are online stores going to be forced to close their doors?
3. Should I just stock up with an "end of the world" type stash?

I dunno I guess just ease my mind a little is all I ask, I like vaping and I'd rather not have it taken from me just when I was getting started and finally done with those horrible analogs.

TLDR I'm worried about an e-cig ban and needed to rant about it!

I think there's every level of worry going on here. Some very worried & stocking up to some kinda laid back about it and not worried yet. I'm worried since I'm still pretty new at this too, and e-cigs have been the only thing that has kept me off cig at all. It's a sure win for me, and I sure don't want to lose it. If BT has any say in the matter, we may have a big problem. They are into the pockets of Congress so deep that I think they rule far too often. Of course the FDA will also be a big influence. For the most part, we have to wait & see how it will all end, but I sure don't like the looks of it.

Welcome to ECF!

I am slightly worried, simply because we all know that Big tobacco has their hands up so many politicians sleeves. Although after using my pv for a period of time the thought that I most likely end up taking in more nicotine then I would smoking normal analogs has popped into my head time and time again. This COULD potentially be an issue I think.

Another concern of mine is that I love the fact that I can use my PV inside, but there are certain bars and places I go that I know I am getting funny looks from people when I exhale my vapor. The discomfort and overall ignorance of the average person about e-cigs is what has me worried. Although not illegal (yet, cross your fingers) it wouldn't surprise me if several business owners banned the use of the products in their establishments.

Right now it looks like they are going after the big dogs. Only the 5 biggest companies that are advertising E-cigs as quit smoking devices and putting other drugs in their juice got letters. FDA said they are not going to ban them as of now. Seems to me like as long as companies don't advertise them as a quit smoking aid and don't add drugs to them they will leave them alone ( for now anyways). But it cant hurt to stock up. If they do make it illegal black market prices are going to be pretty high.

It would take years for them to actually shut them down. To do it quickly they would in fact have to put harsher restrictions on the use of nicotine, and to do that in a timely fashion they would have to use something like an emergency schedule act that they use to restrict and schedule other drugs. In short, if it is going to happen, I think that we will probably see it coming a mile away.

I am worried also and have read here that juice seems to loose its flavor or some thing of that sort after a month or so. Can it be stored in the refridgerator and if so how long will it stay "good"?

What is the "putting other drugs in their juice got letters" comment from above about? First I have read of it.
If possible maybe point me to a post - especailly if it identifies the drugs and the companies.

Thanks and welcome Fresh81!!

Without all of the other stuff that's known to be present in tobacco smoke, nicotine (while not necessarily good for you) probably isn't as bad as some people (anti's) have portrayed it to be. There are some that think using just nicotine may be similar in risk to using caffeine.

The important thing is finding a nic level that currently works well for you. You'll know pretty fast if your nic level is a little more than works well for you. (headache, nausea, etc.) If that happens, just put your PV down for a few and back your nic level down some and things should be fine.

It is difficult to directly compare nic levels found in e-juice that found in analogs. There are lots of individual factors involved. However, it's my personal opinion that even if you are possibly getting slightly more nicotine from the PV, you're still not getting all of the much more harmful combustion products that you would have gotten from the analogs. You still win. :)

Some business and such may not allow you to vape. If they insist, that is their right. It's a shame when it happens, and it's often based in ignorance concerning what you're actually doing. And you may encounter some people that simply don't want to learn or are unwilling to change their mind. If so, you may not be able to vape there. But, we have had very good luck in many places after taking time to explain that we were not actually smoking and educating people a bit about what we are actually doing. This also often leads to several opportunities to direct people to the forum to learn more! :)

Welcome to the forum! Lots of nice people and good information here.
