Long time lurker new to vaping

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking ECF and the e cig sub on reddit for about a year. I tried to quit cold turkey last year and lasted only about a month and a half. Now I've finally decided to take the plunge and start vaping. I ordered a Vision Spinner, Mini ProTank 3 and 6 juices and CAN NOT WAIT for them to come. I loved how it felt when i wasn't smoking for that short while last year (no worrying about the smell, got my sense of smell/taste back, no cig butts/ash in the car) and really feel ready to quit for real this time. I'm not a heavy smoker anymore (1-2 packs a week) and seeing that much heavier smokers quit by vaping is very encouraging.

Welcome to the forum afrodite. If you can do a month and half cold turkey, then it will be a walk in the park with what you have on the way to you. Don't know why it took you so long to try vaping, as seen as you have been looking at the forums for a year. You should have tried sooner.
You wont be disappointed with what you getting, just be aware it may take 2 days or so before your lungs adjust to the vapour, but when they do the sensation is very similar to what your used to. Best of luck

Thanks for the welcome Hijack and Oclelot,
The reason it took me so long was because at first I was overwhelmed with all the information. I just didn't know where to start. Last week I decided it was now or never. I'm ready. :)

well your patients has payed of that's a great setup to start with. You might need a second battery to use while the other charges but if you can go 3 or 4 hours without a smoke you may be ok with 1.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to just ask. Alway someone here to help. Hope you get your stuff real soon so you can start your wonderful journey.

I have no problem waiting a few hours. I was thinking about getting an extra battery and tank for a backup. I'm going to try things out for a week and then I'll see what i'll need.

Welcome to ECF! I smoked a pack and a half a day and it took less then a week to get off cigs with vaping. The more I vaped, the less I smoked, and the less I smoked, the worse it tasted. Eventually, it got to tasting like I was smoking burning tires in a garbage dump. I felt like I wasn't giving anything up at all with that taste in my memory.

Welcome to the world of vaping. I quit cold turkey like you did and never looked back..I smoked since I was 11 and I'm 48 I have been cig free for over a year , I feel so much better, I can breath and run without getting winded. My hubby still smokes and that doesn't even bother me nor make we want to go back.. I love vaping. I love the flavors. I tried a banana bread and it was great, where can you taste something and not gain a pound from it..lol You have to take 1 day at a time..Whenever I wanted a cig I would just pick up whatever battery I have and puff on that. I have now since gotten a Provari and built my first coil for my protank 2 and it works. I would never have thought I could ever do this journey but I did. Be proud of yourself for giving it another shot, you have to just think positive on it

I finally got my setup in the mail on Saturday and I've been vaping away since then. Sunday I went out to the bar and had one analog then gave my pack away to a guy there. I told him I was using an e cig now and he said that they're worse than analogs. I told him that there wasn't any proof of that. He seemed to accept that told me good luck and thanks for the pack. When I told a friend I was vaping now he gave me a hi five and said that 's what he needs to do. The owner of that bar allows vaping inside and I've met 3 people who use e cigs so far.

I have another battery, a glass evod and an atomizer coming in the mail this week. I think that should be good with that for a while.

I would wager that you will quit for real this time friend. Make sure if this set up your ordering doesnt quit do the job or give you your fix that you do some research and buy another. It seems to me that the people that try vaping and end up stopping and going back to smoking, simply never had the right set up for them. Its money well spent trying to find the right set up that works for you. Best of luck friend.
