Hi, so, I've been reading these threads since I started vaping ( about a year ago) and am just now finally signing up. I just got my first rebuildable and I'm enjoying it and doing alright with my builds. There's some room for improvement, but I'm not doing anything dangerous, just regular vaping on a better device. I'm now using a Svo Mesto Kayfun 3.1 clone with an iTaste SVD 2.0. I won't go on and on about how much better it is... but it is. I went from stick batteries, and an Evod, to a Protank, to this, and it's like stepping out of a Ford & into a Ferrari! Alrighty that's it for now. Thanks for reading this. :)

Actually, I have a wire gauge question that is probably silly to the more experienced builders, but I'm building an 8 wrap microcoil on 30 guage wire and it's coming in at 1.9 ohms. I'd like to take it down to between 1.2-1.6, but I like having the wraps because I feel like it gets to more surface area of my wick. I'm just not 100% clear on whether I would change wire gauge up to 32, or go down to 28 to get this. I was going to ask at my local vape shop (so glad we finally have one!), but if anyone already knows and cares to reply, I'd appreciate any ideas. :)

Greetings and Welcome to the ECF. I just did my first build and found 8 wraps of 28 awg tested out at 1.21, sure was smaller in person than they look like on video really didn't know if I could put the cotton in that tiny coil. All I can say is I was blown away bye the flavor let alone the cloud. Enjoy

As was said... I'd go down to 28g and for a 1.4 ohm coil, wrap it around a 2mm bit for about 9 wraps... be sure to check it before firing, but that should put you really close to 1.4 :)
Steam Engine is my favorite vape tool... typically using a bigger wire will allow you to add more wraps, thus increasing your surface area...
