Hi,
I just got started, and got a couple of the cheapo GS-H2 tank Atomizers, and figured I'd take it from there.

OK, so after 3 days, the first one notoriously wicks to the point of dribble in the bottom of the chimney. I really don't like the experience of the liquid getting in my mouth.

Is this going to potentially happen with any clearos, or what would you suggest to avoid this?

Thanks, Mark

I just compiled this list of recommendations for my mom, so these may not be what you're looking for, but I figured I'd post it anyways...

1. Kanger T3S
2. Kanger T3'D
3. Kanger EVOD Glass V2 (dual coil)

All the above are around $4-$5 each, but if you can spend a little more I'd recommend:

1. Kanger Protank 2
2. Kanger Aerotank (dual coil)
3. Kanger Protank 3 (dual coil)

Of course I only have experience with one of the above (I own four Protank 2's), but I can say that I haven't heard of any of them having problems with liquid getting up into the mouthpiece (and it's definitely never happened with the Protank 2's I have).

Bottom coil clearos act something like a moonshine still as the center tube collects condensation. This liquid runs down into the coil and causes gurgling and flooding after a while. It also accumulates where the coil pipe ends in the tube. When you turn it upside down (like I do in a cup with paper towel in it, and leave it overnight) the liquid drains by gravity to the tip. You can q-tip that out at the tip.

Desert Vapes has Kumiho clearos for 2.95 last I looked and they work well. They have Kanger style coil heads.

I have never had any gurgling or flooding in my Protank 2's, but I think that's only because each time I refill one I do the following:

1. Take the drip tip out, and turn the tank over.
2. Remove the base/coil and set the tank down (upside down obviously).
3. Clean the drip tip with a plastic toothpick wrapped with a piece of a paper towel/napkin.
4. Wipe any liquid that has accumulated where the drip tip goes (again using the toothpick/napkin so I can also get any liquid inside the tube).
5. Wipe any liquid off the coil "chimney" and make sure the coil is fully screwed into the base.
6. Refill the tank and put it back together.

I do this every time, and in the month that I've been using my Protank 2's I have literally only experienced one problem, and it was quickly fixed by following the above steps.

BTW if you have a clear clearo, you might see a cloud of vapor in the tube after you take a puff. I usually let go of the fire button when I sense that I am full of vape and stop puffing. What I am trying to learn to do is let go of the fire button before I stop puffing so that I clear out that cloud and reduce the condensation.

That's interesting. I was thinking it was just gravity feed over time. I am going to concentrate more on drawing after letting go of the button.

I've had an interesting time working with this clearo. I have found that when practicing as you preach, it helped. Also when any gurgling liquid appeared in the bottom, I tipped the clearo upside down, and vaped the liquid out of it, and was back to good shape. I tipped the unit upside down and vaped to get it back to empty. I also practiced what you preached, and drew after letting go of the button. Cheers.

Got lots of pals that showed an interest with my merrily puffing clouds.

As most of them just want to vape instead of smoke without all the bother of delving deeper into the subject, I'l part company with an iclear16. Always feels to me like tearing a child from me bosom ;) ...

It's a juice hog alright with two coils. But first-time vapers need something thats convincing from the first puff onwards. And in that department, the iclear16 delivers and doesn't cost a mint. Seen many going back to smoking after having tried these rinky-dinky cigalikes that simply don't pack the oomph to tide over a PAD+ smoker...

It is also my recommendation to first time vapers. A hassle free and consistent vape, with long lasting coils, if you wash and dry burn after every few tanks.
