I recently got the Aspire Mini Nova, and so far so good. Now I need a new backup tank for my backup battery. I really like EVOD 2's but they're really hard to find in my area. Any suggestions? Also NO GLASS tanks.

sounds like cousin to the Aspire mini vivi nova would work for ya

ET / ET-S ; plastic or glass / bdc or bvc

Dual coils are proving themselves (again) not good. It's time we all go back to single coils. All dual coils have failed me miserably, work well for a short time and then they fail.

I'm still vaping on single coils, the two of choice are the Nautilus Mini BVC and the Vapeonly BCC... Work fantastic either of them. The Vapeoly (or sometimes iSmoka) is the vape of choice in Argentina

I've gone through Protanks, Aspire dual coils, other Kanger stuff, even a couple of Nautilus, and beleive me, nothing vapes better than a single coil. Plus, it goes easy on your batts.

puf, do you know if the regular aspire mini vivi novas will take bvc coils or only bdc?

yes they do
if they work with the small "bdc" then the small "bvc" (non nautilus) fits/works wonderful !

also includes all of these

get some and try it out, they are pretty nice...
then after the bvc wears out, it's easy to build the
bvc body as a single coil (kanger bcc style)

:) good luck

I love my Aerotanks. Promise. My best clearomizer evah!

BTW, Aspire BVC is a single-coil carto-tank. ;)

OP, you may also like Kanger EMOW Mega! It's like an eVod on steroids. :D

I haven't had any problems with my dual coils in either the Aspire ce-5 or my Evod 2's and EMOW Mega's in regard to them "failing miserably after a short time" They do get clogged up faster i find though, but for the most part are easy to clean to get back to working order. I just boil all my coils when the dirty pile starts getting huge lol.

I found that Kanger coils (single or dual) are easier to clean than Aspire's coils. I just rinse them under hot water, do a quick dry burn, rinse again and they are like new. Boiling will not remove the gunk that's baked on the heating coil--it needs to be burned off. Kind of like a self-cleaning oven. :D

What heads do you use? I generally do a test run with 3 heads, for a month. Vape quality, throathit and flavor. The two BDC sealed didn't make it past the first week, and I usually vape around 10 mls of liquid, then clean them under running water, and drop them in alcohol for a couple of days. NO DRY BURNING THESE SEALED HEADS, you burn the flavor wicks unnecesarily. After 2 tanks they produced NO vapor. Little to no crackling. A second test run was made a couple of months after. Again, same results. The only head that lasted was the original BDC with wicks out of the head. I prime the heads before putting them in the tank with a couple of drops from the bottom. That had them working for a short while, but then they failed again. The liquid is 40PG/60VG clear colored (mostly Dekang and Liqua).

I think again about the first/second/third rate heads. Nothing is wasted in a factory. The cheaper the heads the more defects they're going to get.

I'm sorry you are having such a bad luck. I've been using Kanger coils for over a year without any problems. I tried iSmoka BCC and I didn't care for it--it worked, but I didn't like the vape and they were messy and seemed cheaply made--but that was some time ago, so they may have improved since.

I've used Kanger T3, T3S, eVod/ProTank (single coils) and Aerotank dual coils V1. I just ordered a pack of upgraded duals with slots rather than holes so I have no experience with those yet. I had one bad coil to date--it was T3 (one piece) coil that just never worked well--it hissed and spat so I thew it away.

Those coils are disposable. I rinse and dry burn maybe once every 10 ml or so--but I use very clean and clear eliquids and the coils last for weeks. But they need to be replaced sooner or later--or rebuilt. A decent coil should be able to handle at least 20 ml of e-liquid--and they do, for me.

You can't burn those wicks--they are silica and they don't burn. I actually torch them to make them white and clean again. Sometimes I replace the flavor wick.

Kanger emow and rebuild the enclosed dual coils to a vertical coil wicked with Japanese cotton. Absolutely amazing vape

Kanger engineers must have seen your rebuild--they just introduced a new dual coil with organic cotton. The only one I've seen is .5Ω, but I hope that higher resistances will follow! :)

Hopefully a single vertical one will be next!

YES, OF COURSE they're meant to be replaced! But compared to other things I use, they're expensive and don't last that much. This started happening with Protanks, at first I was getting little vapor, changed to 1.8 ohm heads and same happened. Suction, who knows? Since then all Kanger things don't like me. Or maybe I'm spoiled by Vapeonly BCC, where I got my way around them and they vape better than the KF sometimes. Of course, not all heads are created equal so I do another test in a few months. I loved my T3 SOOOO much!
Silica does burn. I'll show you my gunky KF in a few days (I build with silica). In times of yore I used to pull wicks out, dry burn the remaining, and rewick with cotton. But it's been long since last time I've done that.
We're poor down here, the cost of vaping supplies are outrageous. We choose things that perform good, that's why my first two choices. The Nauti is a better value, at least the heads I've got, than the Protank.

Hmm... Kanger tanks and coils are cheaper here--and they can easily be rebuilt for pennies.

But, whatever works! :)

This is a local supplier, see for yourself... The price of a single Protank coil is 1 1/2kg of soft cheese or 1 kg (2.2 pounds of meat). I told you we were poor... check above for currency in US
