Legacy with a new flat top from puresmoker

Gus 18350 or 18500 is up at Vaperev

EA mod (my daily mech) is for sale from a bunch of places

Curve from Nhaler

Adams at Rampage Vapor

QZI's are up at E-Six...it's a hybrid and a mech (comes with a 510 top as well as a directly attaching genny)

These are a few of the available non-china mechs I can recall. By available, I mean now.

Also, BAM's at VaporCast Store though not technically a mech.

what type do you like?

try the KTB-TS, the real gg clone

How is the KTB? right now I'm having the problem with the KTS, the firing button gets super hot after I hold it down for 2seconds or more, like burning hot. I heard that the cause could be corrosion inside. Could this happen to any mod? or is just that the KTS is badly made?

Mech gives you the voltage off the battery, Provari allows you to set the voltage and regulates it. Provari also has lots of built in safety features.

Mech starts at 4.2volts and winds down to when you charge it (hopefully 3.2-3.4 volts)

Provari gives you what you set (between 2.9 and 6 volts) until it's time to change the battery (shuts off 3.2ish left on the battery I think). Honestly unless you are wrapping sub-ohm coils, the provari will probably be better for you. It's also built like a tank, made in the US and has fantastic customer service from Provape. My provari gets a ton of use and I have and have a lot of nice mechs.

People go to mech mods so they can run super low resistance coils that would trip the safety features on a provari. Not something I would recommend (super low resistance coils) if you are asking these questions, no offense.

^^Personal preference and perception.

I have Mech. Mods b'coz I love their LOOKS
Plain & simple. No holds barred - I just didn't like the "looks" of any other Mod, VV, VW, P-vari or otherwise.

Most of the Mech. Mods look awesome. Remember, I started the post stating 'personal preference/perception'. This is my view. And I stick to it. B'coz, while shopping, I looked 'only' for mechanicals, after online galloping of all APVs. I didn't know about Low Resistance, Sub-Low Resistance, Std. Resistance et all. And till now I do not know what's the resistance of my Carto-Tank!

Oh yes, I'm not into RBA, as yet. Just F-16 over my Sigelei #8... and I'm loving it! Yes, while on the foray for a Mech. Mod I only looked for the "looks". I purchased what I liked 'looking'. It's another matter that it vapes amazingly. The vendor sent me LR cartos for the F-16 and I'm sticking to that.

Do I need another APV? No. Do I need to try another 'delivery system' and thus, another Mod? No. As long as I'm getting satisfying vape, as long as my Mod looks GrREeAaTt - why do I bother!

So, mechanicals will all be - for me - I guess. B'coz I can't 'look' at others. Am I missing out on something? Probably yes. But then again, my ignorance is my bliss I think!

I can't advise someone on their taste though so I stuck to things that aren't so subjective. What you can and can't do with each and so on. The only reason I said the provari would be better for non-SLR coils is that it is more forgiving. Wrapped 2.4ohm instead of 1.8, you can make up the difference. If you are a clearo user and can only get one ohm at the moment, provari will compensate if it's not your normal vape.

I love mechs and I've had a lot, I just think (unless it's an aesthetic thing) a provari is going to work out better for non-rba or non-SLR folks.

I can't tell anyone what to do, just share my experiences. The only two devices I really use are an EA and a Provari, so I like both worlds.

The Pit of Despair
I use a Provari and two mechanical mods because I want different things at different times.

The Provari is my workhorse for at home, the car, and my shop. I use a modded iseason with a very low voltage drop (typically 0.19V) with an RSST or AGA-T2 on weekends when I might enjoy an adult beverage or several and want the warm vape and kick of a sub-ohm coil.

I was tired of carrying either of those in shorts for summer, so now that it's getting warmer I got a tiny 14500 mechanical for carry and just carry a couple extra batteries. They're the size of an AA, so two batteries is easily pocketable. And the mod slips easily in my front pocket.

After nearly 3-1/2 years of vaping, I think I finally have three basically bullet-proof mods and probably won't buy more in the near future. (famous last words). :)

If your battery is getting hot real quick like that you probably have a short in your atomizer.

Also ... cleaning the contacts atleast once a week is a must on most mechanicals.

Outside of looks ... most of the brass contact mods like the Gus, GP Paps, and GG have the same performance as the clones.
Some people might not like that tidbit ... but it's the truth.

There is a thread about the mkb-Ts, I don't have one but its supposed to be the best mech built out of china.

I do have a kts, although it never gets used anymore but no hot button problems, what are you using on top? You may have a short somewhere and corrosion is possible.

Those sigelei mechs are pretty nice too, go check out that thread in the avp section too, people are doing lots of modding on them with lots of fun.

The only thing I see wrong with the MKB-TS is the spring. Its the same company that makes the iSeason and the iSeason spring is steel (or some other poor metal, I'm not really sure). As well as the switch spring being steel - swapping those springs for brass/other mods does bring them up to great ranges. The MKB-TS is not going to have the various improvements Imeo makes to the GG line, it won't have the build quality or the love but if you want something similar you can get one. Just know that there are usually quite a few 'subtle' things that tend to be wrong with any china-made mech mod. I admit though Rainbow Heaven has been giving the vaping community what it wants, The Vamo then the iSeason and now the MKB-TS
