Great wicking and leaks are more the results of how they are set up than how they were made. If you don't care about them leaking (as you do, tho), set them up with a solid mesh wick and leave a deck hole open. Ideally you'd want that deck hole to be on the opposing side of the center post, relative to your wick. Else it would leak and/or liquid would block air intake.
If you don't want them to leak, either use a wire rope wick or use a hollow/straw mesh wick... and plug all other deck holes.
The current "high-end"* gennies I have in use are the Kraken, EA Nebula, Svarog and just recently, the MMVapors TNS.
The Kraken is just great. "Can't fault it". At least I can't. The original also has a quite narrow fill hole, so depending on your liquid viscosity, you may not have to "leak proof" it even with a solid mesh wick.
EA Nebula is sort of an odd-ball. Very tight wick hole. I believe I use a 2mm wire rope in it. Or was it 1.5mm? Somewhat odd AFC system. More annoying to re-fill than my other gennies thanks to the AFC thingy. It's a loose ring on that sits on top of your deck and needs to be repositioned every time you put the cap on. Yet, it vapes quite well. Wouldn't go too low resistance on it due to the insulated, narrow wick hole. May have wicking issues if so. Still, as mentioned... it does vape well, imho. 100% built for single
coils. No secondary wick hole/posts, no dual air intakes.
The Svarog... By default probably the most leak-proof gennie I've ever seen. The air intake is very different than any other gennie I've seen, too. But! The draw is on the tight side. A bit too much for my liking. Very much a flavor > vapor atty. Due to the air intake design, I imagine it's hard to do something about... not to mention it's made of titanium. It's my current stealth vape / throw in a pocket as backup-gennie.
Only had the TNS for about a week. So far so good. Can't really comment too much on it, since it's so new to me. Montrously large wick holes. 4.5mm I believe. With a single-coil setup, the chamber is pretty small. Good flavor. Clever filling system. No need to remove the cap. So far, I'm loving it. Only time will tell if that holds true.
This is not meant as an end-all review lol. It's just putting some names out there for you to research.
Would
very much like to see other high-end (in function more than price) gennie recommendations. Been thinking of a thread about it myself. Most of the ones mentioned by OP I've sort of ignored due to (lack of) availability.
* I don't really like the term "high-end". Steep price is not the same as "good product".
