Hello everyone, im not new to the whole e cig thing but new to these forums. Im a pretty heavy smoker, from the minute i wake up to i go to bed (2 packs newports a day). Last year i purchased Blu Cig Stater Kit. Blu E-Cig was working great the first couple of months and loved it. The more i used it the more i hated the Blu E Cig, batt life was crap, the cartridges didn't last long at all and atomizer quit working.Im looking into e cigs that produce lots of vapor, high nicotine and menthol taste. I don't care if it looks like a traditional cigarette, but don't want to big of one either. I did a little research online but there is so much garbage on the net i don't know what to believe. I need to get off real cigarettes before i screw my health up any more then i have. Any help would be great thank you in advance.

Ok, I can relate completely as I used Blu cigs for a while. I went to a Joye 510 and a Joye Atomizer and never looked back. Though that was years ago and my tastes have changed. My suggestion is to either get the 510 (a.k.a. Yeti on some sites) or get an Ego. If you can deal with the *slightly* larger size of the Ego you will be thrilled with the battery life. Also, skip Atomizers altogether and get some blank cartomizers and some juice. Unless you know what strength/flavor you want, buy some small bottles to start. My preference is anything cappucino, as long as it's PG (hate VG) and 18-24mg strength. I know you said you smoke menthol, but you might not like the menthol juice, it's all about experimenting until you find your flavor. Most sites have trial sized bottles, so you can keep that in consideration.

Look at these models, all with Manual batteries so you can safely drip or refill cartos with less chance of killing your battery with a juice leak

slim
*Joye 510 180mah
*Joye 510 w/ mega xl batteries (138mm long w/ atty+cart, 128mm w/ carto, 280mah)
* KR808D-1 and Vapor4Life.com - 120mm long w/ carto, can also use DSE901 atty or others w/ adapter, 280mah w/ standard batteries, 180mah with chorty battery

fat (650mah and higher and able to use LR attys/cartos for hotter hit)
* 510: Ego or Riva 510
* KR808D-1: LeCig PigCig or CigEasy Elegant Easy

In general, I think 510 seems to make more vapor, and KR8 gives a slightly warmer hit because it is a full 3.7 volts

I did alot of research after seeing a friend with a blu. I chose the ego-t and after a little trial and error switched to drip tips and lr atty's and its been great. The ego is about the size of a large black and mild so its nothing outrageous. No fancy lights except the manual pushbutton which is very easy to get used to.

However being me picky and always wanting the best i bought a provari and am waiting for it to arrive.

Overall i would say the ego was a great choice. With the lr atty's the vapor production is outstanding and the battery life rocks. from 9am to whenever i go to bed 10-12pm and i havnt ran into a dead battery yet.

Btw was a pack a day smoker for 13 years no cigs in 11 days! =)

Be sure to look for menthol + tobacco!
I bought nothing but menthol with my kit. My first 2 weeks of vaping was like vaping nothing but breath mints. That got old pretty quick. I've got a couple of bottles of tobacco I cut the menthol with now.

Watch Mistress Nomads videos. She covers the 2 most common types of ecigs, the 510 and the kr808.
I bought a Vapor King from Vapor4Life. It's simply an kr808. Fits in my pocket, no atomizers to deal with. Batterys last about 4 hours. I always carry at least 2.

VG is what adds the vapor but sacrifices the taste. I bought a bottle of VG I add to juices that don't produce enough vapor to my liking.
Amazon.com: Glycerin Vegetable Kosher USP - 1 Quart (Buy 5 get $15 off): Health & Personal Care
Many juice and D.I.Y. suppliers sell small bottles of VG.
Vapor4Life
LibertyFlights
LiteCigusa
are all good companies where you can buy a decent starter kit.

I vape pretty heavily with a 510 mega and it lasts almost an entire day without a recharge. I am considering starting to build my own mods though gonna stick with the 510 form factor though as I have lots of atties/carts for it.
I also have a Blu, the carts are crap. The Boge soft carts are with a 510 mega are like night and day with a blu, and only add 1 1/2 inches to your ecig. Plus, you can use your leftover carts from blu with it.

so what is the difference between the KR808D-1 slim and fat other then size

It sounds like you need a big battery, and there are a lot of choices.

My suggestion is to stay with a 510 connection since it gives you great flexibility: 3 piece (battery+atomizer+cartridge, or two piece: battery+cartomizer. As far as cartomizers are concerned, there are a bunch of different styles out there:clearomizer, fluxomizer, gigatomizer, tanks, etc. My honest opinion is that you will have to try them to find something you like. The cartomizers, regardless of the type, are probably going to be a bit cheaper if you purchase them from one of the other suppliers.

As far as the style of battery is concerned, there are several cheap alternatives, but you need a big battery-at least 600 mAh and preferably 900mAH since you were such a heavy smoker.

The new ePower has 1000 mAh replaceable batteries, looks really cool, has a 510 cnnnection. Look up madvapes. Another one is the Indulgence from EastMall; it is also sold domestically by vapor junction. There are some other cool mods out there: Icon, Screwdriver, BB, RoughStack.

It depends on what you look for: design, style, practicality. After all of the failures with my Ego's and Riva's, I have completely gone off the self contained batteries. The best LiIon's can be had from DealExtreme for less than $5 vs $20 +/-$5 depending on the source.

Good luck. In one month, I will be tobacco free for one year.

The only thing I'll say is that there is no difference between Totally Wicked's or Jaunty's Joye products and anyone else's Joye products. For instance the Totally Wicked Tornado Tank = Jaunty Jet = eGo-T = Volcano Inferno-T. Yeah I know that you didn't mention Volcano but, just in case. Nothing wrong with anything you mentioned but, there's nothing special about it either. A great 510 model is the 510. Other names don't make it better.

I have not gotten into 510 models yet. I only have tried the Kr808's. I have gone through three companies.

Premum e-cigs. Pretty good, average priced and fast shipping. The batteries are nothing to write home about.
V2: Awesome batteries and great customer service, but right now they are going through a shipping problem and could take weeks to get your order out.
Vapor 4 Life: The best. Their diamond XL or XL Manuals have awesome battery life, These things are long as heck though, but give great vapor. The CS for these people is all 100 flavors of awesome, and they sell anything you could want for an 808 build. Fast shipping and they have a sale every few days. If you want kr808 you can't go wrong with this company.

I've only been vaping for a little under 2 weeks and I also smoked about a pack and a half a day of Newports (100s, and if they would have made a 1000, that would've been my choice. LOL) I ordered an Inferno-T from Volcano and I love it! There is a learning curve with switching to personal vaporizers, but it's totally worth the effort! I just recently ordered an eGo-T from a forum member here, and while I understand that they are essentially the same, I just wanted to try another vendor's version. Now, the T versions I'm talking about use a tankomizer with tanks (which hold about a mL of juice). Besides the occasional leaky tank (hence the reason I'm trying the eGo-T), my Inferno-T has been a champ. It's kept me off analogs so far! I smoked for 15 years and vaping is def healthier and more fun!!! I wasn't sure how I would like the diff flavored juices, but I love them! I haven't tried a cartomizer, but I love my tank! I vape about 3ml (3 tanks) a day and I switch between 2 1000maH batteries. I get about 2-3 days with the batteries before they need to charge. You'll find that you probably vape pretty heavily at first, but I've heard you'll slow down after awhile (I'm still vaping pretty hard right now. LOL) I would recommend starting off with higher nic juices. I like 24mg with a PG/VG blend. That way I get my nicotine, vapor, flavor and throat hit. I will say that whatever you ultimately choose will NOT be an analog. Nothing can replicate all of the nasty smells and chemicals from a burning cig, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be glad you switched!! I wish you the best of luck, and if I can be of any help, just drop me a line! :)
