Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I greet you all.

I have a vaper student and he introduced me to e-cigs. I read tons of stuff though there still are some points that confuse me. I want to start vaping at once but first I have to know what to order.

I tried a couple of his e-cigs and decided to go with the Lavatube which can be found here..

I know that this thing has 510 compatible threads.. I'll get the tube, 2 batteries, a charger, and e-liquid of my choice..

But the cartomizer/atomizer/cartridge dilemma.. What to do with that?

I read somewhere that cartomizers are only good for about 5 refills.. Is that true? If it is.. then would you recommend getting an atomizer and cartridge? How many of each?

Isn't there some kind of always refillable solution.. one that is not disposable.. one that I can clean and keep going? I don't want to be constantly ordering disposable stuff from overseas...

Thank you.

Haluk

i never used atomizers and cartridges. i started with cartomizers and quickly went to fluxomizers from "gotvapes". they are cleanable, reuseable, and i have been using the same 2 for over 3wks(have different flavor in each one. cartomizers get gunked up easily and you can only fill them a few times before the filler gets nasty.

Cartomizers are fine, but they hold so very little juice you have to top them off frequently or risk a burnt hit and ruining it. And you can't see the juice level in them. Tanks, fluxomizers, clearomizers hold more juice and you can see when the juice is running low. They each have their advantages and disadvantages. The only way to know for sure which you will like better is to try them.

First off, if you get your Lavatube anywhere but here,Apollo VTube Kit you are paying too much. Use the discount code Vtube30 and you will get a full kit for $52.50. They ship to Turkey for about $14. An extra battery will cost about $8. This is the same unit that you pay a lot more for anywhere else and it comes with a one year warranty.

Revgarding the cartomizers. Only use 3ohm cartomizers, or anything else, with your Lavatube. DO NOT USE LOW RESISTANCE cartomizers, atomizers or anything else with a Lavatube, including 1.5ohm dual coil cartomizers. Stick to 3ohms. The Lavatube has a 2.5amp limit and if you use a 1.5ohm cartomizer, it will restrict you to 3.7V, regardless of what you set the voltage at. All the original LRider Lavatubes do this, regardless of what they have been named by the vendor who sells them.

The best "always refillable" solution I've fond is the Vivi Nova V2 or V2.5 tank. You can re-wire the coils very easily in about 5 minutes. In fact, it takes longer to clean a coil on an atomizer than it takes to make a whole new coil with a few pennies worth of wire and wick. It's so simple a 5 year old child could do it. There are video on Youtube explaining how.

A Vivi Nova costs about $13-15 and includes the tank and three heads, 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8ohms resistance. You can use all three heads on a Lavatube, but I would suggest re-coiling the 1.8 ohm head immediately. Five wraps of 34ga. Kanthal wire will give you approx 3ohms. You don't need to be precise because you can just adjust your voltage to suit your taste.

Here is the Vtube (Lavatube). $53 plus shipping from Apolloecigs.com

3-6 ml of juice will definitely push you into what is known as the cart/tank solution. This is essentially a cartomizer with holes in the sides that is inserted in a tank to hold the juice. I have used this system for quite a while and have never had a problem with leaking or spilled juice. I did have a problem with a certain brand of cartomizers and the beauty of this system is that I could simply change brands and solve my problem. On the lower end of your requirements, clearomizers might also be a good option. They are less fiddly than tanks, I just don't know of any that hold 6 mils of juice.

Tanks will last u for a good while but you will still need tank cartomizers to use in the tank. A tank is just a plastic tube that holds more liquid than a carto without a tank. There's no atomizer in a tank, nothing to fire and vaporize your juice. There are no attys that will last "forever", they are all disposables. Some will last a few hours, some may last for weeks and weeks...

The lavatube is a good unit, I own 2 of them and I love them. The only tank out there without a carto is the Viva Nova tank. But even with that, the atomizer for the tank IS disposable and will last from hours to weeks, no vaping supplies will last forever. I'm on my phone so I can't post links to the tanks & cartos but I'm sure someone will be along to get u some links. :)

Here is the Vivi Nova. The heads that contain the coil and wick last far longer than a cartomizer and they can be replaced or re-built. Replcements cost about $3, and it costs pennies to rebuild one if you want to do that instead of ordering new ones.
vivinova.png

You can get them at gotvapes.com or here: Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V2

I re-built a head for the Vivi Nova two nights ago. It took about $0.05 worth of wire and $0.03 of wick and about 5 minutes. It was my first attempt. It took me longer to find a needle than it did to re-wick and re-wire one of these heads. With Kanthal wire, these will last far longer than any cartomizer and longer than any but the best atomizers.

They also taste better than any cartomizer tank and they absolutely will not leak. You can carry these in your pocket, filled. I'll never use a cartomizer or cartomizer tank again.

I am a quite heavy smoker.. when I tried my friends vv e-cig I figured I'd be vaping at around 5v. I'd like a bigger tank (3ml or maybe 6) which I could use for extended periods of time before disposing of..

Greetings from Canada! Welcome to ECF!

The Vivi Nova 2 or 2.5 is a 3.5ml rebuild-able tank. It is easily disassembled or cleaned. Here is a link :

GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA™ 3.5ml V2.5 REBUILDABLE TANK [gv-VIVINOVA-TANKV2.5] - $14.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Enjoy!

I started with a 808 over the weekend, until my kgo arrived yesterday. My kit came with five cartomizers, which took a little expirimenting with the speed of filling them (first one sucked...second one was great with filling it slowly and letting it soak in). I ordered a sample kit from vaporgod tonight and added a tank. I am thinking the tank will be for at home use, but who knows.

The options are endless. I even enjoyed the 808, but the kgo rocks.I think the options will keep me busy for a while...and now I have ten 10ml bottles on the way. F'ing bacon! Three fruity flavors for my gf to get her going, and a few for me and a few to share. As I said...endless options. Have fun with it! I am now invested enough for two cartons of smokes with twelve bottles of juice, a great kgo kit, a tank, and a lot of fun so far.

When it comes to getting the cleanest possible taste from your juice, I strongly recommend starting with a few Vision Clearomizers. Vision eGo Transparent Clearomizer V2 for 510/eGo, 2.1-2.4 ohm

They hold about 1.5 ml of juice and are VERY easy to refill. Burning thru a full 1.5 ml could take a 2-4 hours depending on how much you vape.

I use them on a Lavatube as well... to do so you will need 2 , 510 to 510 extenders stacked up on top of the Lavatube.
510-510 extender

Standard cartomizer tanks use poly filled cartomizers. I would suggest buying a few Boge Cartomizers as Captain suggested, and fill them with the same juice you put into the Vision Clearomizers so you can do a side by side test and see which one tastes / vapes best for you. You might want to get a few 3.0 ohm versions as well as the low rez since you have a variable voltage device.

Best of luck and welcome to the club !

I just got this:
Smoktech DCT Tank 6ml Black Delrin

Says it comes with the carto. Am I missing something?

Hey there sailorman ! Leave it to you to start talking about doing mods on a Vivi when the guy just started vaping 20 minutes ago !!! hahahahhaa... kidding with ya pal. The Vivi is a great option and sits nicely on top of the Lavatube.

Just buy extra heads...

@sailorman: thank you for the spot-on information.. the kit looks good.. though I don't see the Vivi you mention at that website.. that means having to pay shipping twice..

a quick question.. considering the kit on that website.. says "1 3.0 ohm high resistance 510 atomizer".. do I need to buy a cartridge to go into that or do I just drip some liquid in it and start vaping?

I had this in my mind

I like how it looks.. Isn't that called a tank?

Nope... youre not missing anything. Just make SURE you fill the carto completely before sliding it into the tank and filling the tank up. All it takes on the poly filled cartos is a few dry / hot nasty hits to burn it and then its no good.
