I just recently started vaping and between my sinus and I’m sure vapors tongue. Hoping it will get better with time

Anyway I am having problem tasting. I am currently vaping a cinnamon candy and Naked 100 Brain Freeze which is a menthol

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have wasted so much money on juice I can’t taste. Getting frustrated and bored with same flavors

Any suggestions and where I could get them?

Oh also I am coughing worse when vaping than I did smoking. Any suggestions on that? Maybe PG or VG ratio?

Just getting frustrated over many things I really want to do this

Thank you so much

The coughing will continue for a while. This is a good thing. Your body is full of smoking gunk it is getting rid of. Generally It will eventuallyquiet down though.

You might be a good DIY candidate as your required taste profile is unusual. Cinnamon flavors get more powerful with age so steeping your juice may help

Hi December, I've found Carmel and Tobacco flavors stronger or more flavorful than candy. Unless you're ready to start DIY the recipes are endless and you can customize to your own tastes!
For me if I'm running the MOD to hot or the watts up to high I cough more. You could try turning the watts down and see if that helps. Don't give up there are so many ways to adjust settings, flavors, and the tools used. Find that sweet spot and vaping is so much better!!!! Good Luck

Hi and hopefully this may be of help, it helped me a LOT in the beginning.

https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/threads/a-list-of-symptoms-when-quitting-tobacco-and-changing-to-an-ecigarette.3305/

I coughed a lot starting out. It's normal and so is vaper's tongue unfortunately. Mine didn't last long but it was an annoyance. If even REALLY strong flavors are tasting muted, you might try vaping unflavored, it's sort of less disappointing than when you have the "expectation" of flavors.

I had a lot of detox symptoms when I first quit (not so much this time, but I only smoked for a short while) and knowing what to expect and staying hydrated is key. Drink a LOT. If you can handle such things a neti pot with saline may help your sinuses, they may be dried out too.

Try to keep wattage as low as possible while still getting the nic you need. Tobacco is filled with many things but especially HUMECTANTS, which kind of lubricate your throat as the smoke sliiides down. I got a very sore throat to start.

If things keep on by all means see a doctor in case it's allergies or something else. Coughing can also be caused by too high nic OR just detox. I found out I was PG sensitive, but I'd say it's probably too early to figure out much of that (although some folks just DO BETTER with high VG or PG depending on I guess a bunch of things.)

Best of luck, you can do it! Hang in there.

Could be your vape settings.

You may need to rotate your juice selection more frequently like I do. A vape a minimum of 4-6 different juices in any one day. I also enjoy mixing some e liquids with others on my RDA's. Speaking for myself, my taste buds are most sensitive in the morning and become less sensitive as the day wears on. With this in mind, I tend to vape my most delicate flavors in the morning and work up to the stronger flavors at the later hours.

Have a slug of an acidic drink to cleanse the palate too may help. Pineapple juice or the like, (I don't know if you Americans have heard of it yet), just swish it around in your mouth and give your tongue a good beating around your teeth and gums too. Helps with killing off bacterial stuff too!

Cinnamon
Nut
Peanut Butter
Tobacco
Any Caramel RY4 combination, some Cinnamon's, most tobaccos too name a few.

I love tobacco taste. If you want rich flavor, and I see you mention Ry4... This is by far richest Ry4 I have tried:

Grampa`s Cream - AEON Ltd.

I mixed mine 10% as suuggested but found out 7-8% would be better. Too intense in my Kayfun Prime but flavor is best Ry4 I tried.

If thats not strong enough, then try their Schroendiger liquid, really intensive, with dark tobacco, coffee, rum...: Schrodinger - AEON Ltd.

If you dont mix, just find their ready made liquids. If you do mix (which might be a good idea here) then you can increase aroma % a bit (not too much!) to fit your taste. Since you dont want to vaste money on aromas you dont like, tester packs are very handy! Something lime this:

JOURNEY SAMPLE BOX TOBACCO - JuiceDoctor

... Then you get 5x2ml aroma which paired with some base gets you about 5x20ml liquid.

P. S. if its vaper's tongue and not your taste... What helped me was drinking green tea and also vaping plain anflavored base for a day

I am having the same problem I can not smell very well. I blame that because of 43 years smoking cigarettes. Also smelling fumes from cutting oils and other fumes where I worked. I have a hard time finding juice that I could taste. I DYI now and it has helped a bit on taste as I can adjust percentages of flavor to what I like. So far I have only come up with 3 recipes that work for me. So in a nut shell maybe you need to try DYI.

Heath54. Yes I can’t smell well either. I have sinus issues and have smoked 30 yrs.
last night I was messing around and found a combo I really like by accident lol

I love the Reds Apple in the iced form. I can taste it better, than most. So I added some cinnamon and a drop of menthol. And wow it’s awesome so far

Guess I just need to mess around with diff stuff

I ordered some juice from ECBlend because you can customize them so much. Hopefully will come soon

Having big time problems with sweets. I ordered some butterscotch so we shall see

I wonder if Biotene might help Might have to try

Thank you all for being helpful it’s so much appreciated

One of the first things i noticed after quitting cigs is my sense of smell is actually better. It didnt happen right away, took a couple months. I always heard that once you quit smoking, the sense of taste improves and food tastes better. I really didnt experience much of that except fir a few specific flavors, namely strawberries and hot peppers. I never liked strawberries because all i tasted was something sour, but now they taste like theyre supposed to. As for hot peppers, they seem even hotter now. Not a bad thing, but ive slowed down on the habeneros some. It gets pretty intense now, lol. But i can say, ive got a nose like a bloodhound...:D

Strongest flavor I have ever used. If you cannot taste it, there is probably something wrong. It will clear out your sinuses as well. I vaped only a few ML of it and had to stop and ended up giving the rest of the bottle away because of its intensity. Here is a link to their website, I'm sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere though.

Hello - glad you are making the switch and, as expected, there will be some hiccups along the way.

For the vapers tongue - I think it happens, at one time or another, to all that vape. When I think of it - something similar even happened to me when I smoked. Combined with your sinus' I can see that being really frustrating. Just hang in there and vape on since it is truly only temporary.

For the vapers tongue or vapers fatigue what works for me is to take a shot glass and fill it with a generous amount of salt and fill the shot glass up with either freshly squeezed lemon or lemon juice from the bottle. Then swish it around your mouth for 30 seconds to a minute, spit it out, wait a few minutes and see if that helps. That has helped me a few times.

Also, if you like sorbet, any citrus-y flavor should help as well.

I don't recall coughing too much when I first started although many others have reported it. When I cough, I know it is time to change my coil. It seems I am sensitive and if gunk builds up on the coil it irritates me.

Best of luck to you. Hopefully, in a few weeks, any of the unpleasantness will be behind you.

between here and there
What ohm coil are you using? Have you turned the watts really low to see if the flavoring comes through? With a nautilus tank-if you using higher ohms, like 1.2 or higher the watts need to be lower especially when you first use it. Then turn up the wattage slowly, taking a hit and to see of flavor is still good.

BT has put chemicals into the cigarette to calm down coughing so you can tolerate it better. They do many things to keep you buying those stinkies.

Goodluck and let us know how you are doing .
