Hi all, new here at ecf. I read through threads on here all the time but just recently decided to join the pahty
I'm looking for some tips from genny users. I can't seem to get mine performing as I had hoped... I have a Kraken clone, and I'd like to stick with single coil builds until I can step up my game a bit with genny's. My biggest issue I've had with every build I've tried has been dry hits, and I'm getting frustrated!! I'd like to get this thing to kick out some nice warm vapor with decent throat hit, vapor production isn't a huge concern for me, but decent flavor would be nice as well. So i have a few questions...
Is there a certain resistance or wattage that I should shoot for,? I have several mechs with vtc5s and a cloupor t8 so I can adjust wattage if necessary
I believe the wick-hole is 1.5mm so i'll be wrapping coils in that diameter, but I am also curious if you prefer contact or non-contact coils, and what gauge wire you prefer?
What kind of wicking material would be best considering what I am looking for in a vape experience? I'm a big fan of KGD cotton in my rda's and rba's but I do have some ekowool and I think I have some ss mesh lying around too. I'm not entirely sure that it's possible but I'd like to avoid a build that requires the infamous genny-tip to saturate the wick, but I'm down to try anything you guys suggest!
I think my biggest issue is with the wicking... I've mostly tried KGD and regular organic cotton and I can't tell if I'm using the right amount, because each build gives me dry hits after I vape through the initial saturation of juice I drip on there when first filling the tank. And every time I've tried silica or ss mesh i either get mad hotspots or it gives me a horrible dry hit like half a second into each drag, and I like me a nice long drag! I just got my first few bottles of nicoticket juices and I want to give em the quality build they deserve lol. Can anybody help a brother out? Any tips you got I'll give em a go!
