Good advise is to look around the net for some recipes you think you will like, & order the flavouring for them. Start small, once you verify you like a flavouring buy larger quantities.
DIY is some thing every serious vaper should do, it cuts the cost of vaping by a lot!
I mix Juicy Fruit gum by it's self, I mix peach & vanilla bean ice cream, I mix grape soda & lemon. Taste is subjective what I like you may not :(

For all things DIY, I suggest you start in the DIY sub-forum, here:
DIY E-Liquid

You can get lots of advice and there is a big section for recipes, though many of them are more involved than one or two flavors. For basic one or two flavor mixes, fruits are always a good bet and take little or no steeping. Many tobacco flavorings can also be used as single flavors, though they usually take a week or more of steeping to reach their best flavor.

Do lots of reading, make sure you have a good e-juice calculator so you don't add too much nic, sit back and enjoy!

For single flavors you can use any that you like because with single flavors it is very easy to perfect how you want them to taste. Once you get 2 perfected then think what you would like to mix together and start with 50/50 of the finished liquids for a test and mix 1ML or so to vape.

guys, i wanna start making my own diy and i need to know what flavors i can use singularly,
may be up to 2 flavors max
Don't by any flavoring at first. Mix some unflavored that's the same percent of pg, vg, and nicotine as the liquid that's in your tank. Then put a couple of mls of the pre mix and your unflavored DIY in an empty bottle, say 50/50. When the tank is almost dry put in the diluted mix and take some time to get used to it. If you like it you've just cut the cost of your liquiid by 50%. I mixed that way for months before finally moving on to an all in one flavor because it tasted just as good and cost almost nothing. These days cost of ingredients for my DIY e liquid is 1.1 cents per ml. I pay the same as everybody else for my ingredients but don't use high percents of flavoring.

Unflavored is like having vapers tongue in my opinion and with all the tasty flavored e-Liquids I have right now it would really not be pleasurable.
Dilute pre mix you already own with unflavored. Most pre mix is hideously over flavored. Cutting it 50-75% is usually an improvement.

No reason to because when mixing up one of my recipes recently I was using the recipe for 30ML but was making 60ML. I had doubled the Nicotine but forgot to do it for the flavors and realized it after I was finished so for a test I let it age and just tried it the other day and it is not what I want or will enjoy so I must add the additional 50% of the flavors. Can't say I didn't try but it is just too weak for my liking.

That's the beauty of DIY. Experiment, play, create something new. Start with a small quantity like 10 or 15 ml. If you check the description on the vendors page, you should find suggested percentage. I start on the low end and increase if needed. When I find my sweet spot for a single flavor, I make a note of it (actually adjust my notes - keeping good notes has helped me immensely). Knowing my single flavors helped me to differentiate flavors as I began mixing flavors. For multiple flavors, I start by mixing each flavor at the level I found to be my sweet spot while keeping my total flavor content around 10%. If flavor 'A' is too heavy in the mix, I decrease that flavor until I find the right balance I'm looking for. I only adjust 1 flavor at a time and continue testing until I find each flavor and the entire mix is balanced - sometimes I just need a hint of something. Multiple flavors take time to get right. Be patient, take good notes and enjoy the journey.

Welcome and glad you joined. Not too many single flavor mixes that most people like. Choosing what to make is a personal decision your tastes buds decide. I will make most bakery recipes and am pretty happy most times, at the least, I learn something.
Might want to try Googeling " A Beginner’s Guide To Making The Most Highly-Rated Recipes".

Welcome to ecf.

Mixing single flavors is a great place to start. There are a lot of them that come to mind. Juicy fruit, bubble gum, sweet tea, and the list goes on.

Just think about what you want and spend some time in ecf's DIY forum. Ask questions if you have em. Lots of members there to help also.

I don't like the TH from PG and most of my DIY is at 80/20 VG/PG and love when a vendor lists 80/20 for e-Liquids.
Yeah you're not gonna get reminded of smoking vaping that. A 70pg/30vg 18-24 mg nic unflavored in an MTL device will be more like smoking for many folks than vaping store juices, comments in the forum led me to try it and I agree with them. We all have our individual tastes though.

When I first quit I was obsessed with trying to find a vape that tasted like a Marlboro Red and the closest I came to it was Buck Naked American and Turkish Tobaccos. A 50/50 mix was as close as I could get and then after 100's upon 100's of flavor tests I found a Fruit By The Drop that was awesome. The rest is history
