Which eGo batteries have a led light in the power switch that glows various shades of blue or different colors to tell you how much battery life remains (other than joyetech)? Anywhere in the 350-650mAh range, no need for VV or other fancy stuff.

I saw cheap ones on fasttech once but can't find them any more.

There were also the FireFly eGo batteries. Has an LED at the tip that changes blue/green/red as it poops out. Five clicks turned it off as an e-cg - and also turned it into a (sorta) white LED flashlight. Liberty Flights used to carry them but no more. You may want to try a search and see if anyone else carries them.

Do note that in this case the features are fairly useless. In a 650 mAh Firefly "blue" meant full charge - for about 20 minutes. The majority of the time you were at "green". When green changed to "red" it meant you had about 10 minutes of vape time left before "off" set in. The flashlight feature was very weak as flashlights go. But if you just want something that lights up :D see if you can find them. It's not a subtle, stealth vaping battery. They came in 650, 900 & 1000 mAh sizes.

The ego-c upgrade batteries have a button that change colors, and the ability to change voltage. Normally the button glows white, when charge is below about 50% it turns light blue. When they get about 10% it changes to a darker blue. This is all regulated at about 3.3 volts.

But - you can turn it off using 5 clicks, then hold down the button for about 5 seconds and it flashes yellow. Turn it back on and the button is yellow when depressed, and the battery puts out it's full power (about 4.2 volts). It is now in "unregulated" mode.

I really prefer these batteries, as they are "passthrough" types. I have several computers and chargers at home, and USB in my car, so I don't have to go look for a charger. Just grab a USB cord (which I keep on all my computers for charging my kindle, gps and many other things) and plug it in.

The ego-c might be what I've seen, though I don't remember the unregulated mode. Are they all vv? I'd like to avoid the extra length that requires.

My current favorite setup is little 350mAh eGos with cartomizers. I usually carry multiples. It would be nice to have a quick way to see which are due to charge, since the battery life isn't very long.

I ordered one at Fasttech that sounds like the Firefly. Not that I'll use it as a flashlight, but at least it indicated remaining charge somehow.

It seems a simple thing to just have the power button glow different colors as the charge depletes. I've seen LEDs at the electronics store that could do that, but I'm not into disassembling an eGo to see if they'd work. someone ought to invent an ego with this!

These are my absolute favorite batteries. I use in unregulated mode for stronger flavors, and regulated for delicate fruits.

There are only 2 modes to the upgrade battery, and I have found them to be suffient w/out using a VV battery, which as you say, adds length.

My 650 Upgrade is less than 3" in height, about 2.75". Got at Cignot. Genuine Joyetch. A 1000 would last a real long time.

Personally, I wouldn't mess around with clones. I have found the genuine Joyetechs to be worth the extra money, none have ever failed, fallen apart, or the buttons act wonky for me.
