Why are you wanting to buy the whole kit as a backup? I'd think just a battery and a few attys should do the trick for a backup. Maybe a charger to keep at work (I ran into this today and luckily I turn a co-working on to vaping and was able to charge a spare 510).

Wordup E-Cig Super Store has the double atty version JANTY EGO E-cig There customer service is great and they ship free.
That's a $50 clone starter kit (1 battery, 1 atomizer, charger) with a battery rated with 2x the capacity as the eGo. Then there is the Riva which goes for about $60 with a 750mah vs. the 650mah of the eGo. So still cheaper with more capacity.
That's why someone suggested that there would be a price adjustment soon. At this point the eGo is way overpriced compared to other offerings. If I had to guess I'd think it'll be a bigger larger capacity battery for the same price as the 650mah battery. And quite possibly a blowout of existing stock of 650mah batteries. But that's all guesswork.
Heaven Gifts has great eGO prices -- particularly if your shopping addiction has qualified you for their frequent buyer discount.
