Can someone help a newbie here. About 2 weeks ago on my birthday i was given a vape kit which consisted of 2 batteries, 2 Clearomizer and some juices. Within 5 days, i stopped smoking. Was doing about 45 cigs a day. I dentified it as an ego kit but what type i don't know. Pressing the silicone button on the side 5x gives me red, another 5x will give me a mix of blue and red and then another 5x will give me blue. What model is this ?

Also i have a problem, maybe it is the way i hold and press the silicone button. Now on one of the battery the silicone button is spoilt. It seems very stiff and cannot be used. Is there a particular model which is very strong on the button and will withstand hard pressing? Something more durable.

Thanks for the advise

I hate to contribute to info-overload but ... I started with Blu and quickly became frustrated with the battery life and found Volt. I ordered one of the cig sized ones and also one of the larger x2s. You can use it while it's charging so I thought it would be a great back-up and I wouldn't be embarrassed to use it around the house. (I use it almost exclusively now but that's neither here nor there) It's only 20 bucks, comes with a charging cable and and you can use the same cartos and stuff as with the smaller one so if you decide to go with the Volt, go ahead and get and x2 as well. Smokeless Image seems to have great customer service and super fast shipping. I don't think you can go wrong ordering from them. They do have a new product a "nano" something or other that holds a small amount of juice in a clear container and you don't have to use a syringe to fill it. I've ordered some and am really anxious to try them out!

Lisa,

I have already heard batteries are temperamental with the blu, so I marked that off my option list. The volt is one of my top 3 choices. I haven't heard of nano's yet. Still learning....LOL I will have to check those out too now just out of curiosity! I appreciate your opinion, the more good things I hear about a product is a positive. Thanks!

I appreciate all the info you have given me. You have even cleared up the "sealed" automatic battery issue for me. I was under the impression when it was sealed it couldn't have liquid leak into it. I will have to look into Cignot. But since they don't have girly colors...I don't know. I have already narrowed down my search to a top 3, V2, Smokeless Image, and Vapor4life. I just have to decide which one of those I am going to go with....which one fits most of my wants and needs. Oh, I do plan on taking a break real soon...it's almost bedtime! LOL:smokie:

You is welcome!

I cannot remember which of the three brands you are looking at claim a "sealed automatic" battery. With JoyeTech type auto batteries the vent hole is right in the middle of the center battery connection. That design is very easy to ruin if you have a leaking accident. On what is claimed as a "sealed" automatic they move the vent hole from middle of the center connection to the side of it. (This will all make more sense once you have a battery in hand to inspect.) It might be an improvement to help prevent liquids getting in there, but there is still a vent hole, and "sealed" automatic batteries aren't immune from flooding accidents. In short, it may be an improved design, but calling it sealed is a tad misleading.

Like you need more information overload... But this is good information overload! lol

When you have made your decision, don't forget to click on that "Coupons" tab at the very top of any ECF page. Check to see if the place you are buying from offers a coupon discount code. Not all do, but it's definitely worth checking to see whenever you can save a few bucks on a purchase. And an easy thing to overlook in the excitement of placing your first order.

If you are a pack a day smoker or more, want to refill your carts yourself than cig size batteries and auto batteries are not for you. Honestly that's what I thought I wanted. Something that looked and felt like I was smoking a "normal" cig. But after trying 3 diff kits, drowning 4 batteries with ejuice and going back to smoking real cigs because I wasn't satisfied I realized function way out weighed form. Mini cigarette sized batteries last about 1-2 hours and that's not continuous vaping. Vapor was ok but not ideal. And the "automatic" on switch was inconsistent. Filling the carts works on a sealed battery since if you over fill it can't get into the electronics of your ecig but for the auto to work there is a hole right where the carto screws on the battery. Bad for refilling and honestly the vapor production besides that of the volt kit was not ideal. If you really want to quit, really want to refill and really want a satisfying vape. Go with an ego style kit, something with a stardust style tank set up it's easy to refill, easy to use and with two batteries at 650-1000 Mah a piece you could chain vape for 10 hours straight. Get on you tube Grimmgreen ego twist, gotvapes has a starter kit for under 100 dollars. Comes with 2 batteries 2 tanks and all the accessories you need. As for juice it's all up to your taste that's the next hurdle. But it's all up to you just my personal experience and trying to save you money and truly get you off the analog cigs.

LOLLLLLL tough enuff to find the right PV but even harder to find the right juice BUT when you find it you will be in Vaping Heaven :vapor:
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 15%
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I vape 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

I am smoking about 1/2 pack a day or less normally and have been for a while now...
Most new vapers start with 18 or 24 mg nicotine but it will depend on the brand and number of analogs you smoked each day. I would suggest 18 mg to start. If it's too strong you can always order an equal quantity of 6 mg and mix the 2 to come up with 12 mg but...we'll worry about that later.
Cheers.

Vapoor..I noticed that when I was browsing the flavors...LOL I am still debating on when I order them do I what ratio of PG/VG will I be wanting to try. I still have some research to do in that area, and yet then it will still probably have to be trial and error...LOL

I've been searching for a store near you and found one at:
NorthWest Vapors LLC
712 Bridge St.
Vernonia, OR. 97064
503-429-8223
Electronic Cigarette (e cig) starter kits
12% Discount Code: NWVECF

I seen many ECF vapers buying and recommending NWV so he is definitely legit. He has an 808 BUT it's only 280 mah and he's sold out...100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before recharge. Also his juices get great reviews. Maybe pay him a visit and then you can compare PVs and see the size/ feel of them. I would ask him to show you the KGO (Riva) 1100mAh Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit - $45.00 Fires at 3.7 volts and has long battery life. If you do purchase the Kgo realize the cartridge/ atomizer system is not very good. I would order a couple of packs of Cartomizer for 510 / KGO (5-Pack) Refillable - $5.50 Realize also the Kgo is the popular 510 thread...not trying to push you into something you don't want and I wouldn't purchase it UNLESS you're comfortable with the size- it's really not that large and many/ most of my female converts really like the Kgo. Another bonus of visiting the NWV store is you'll be able to test juices mg- wise and also test juices taste- wise.

Cheers and Good Luck.

Hey super helpers!!!! You have been so great so far in helping me out with so much great information, tips and great links!!!! So there is another noob who posted on my thread user name kumkum post #41 who could use your help as well. I read his post and from what I read he got an ego as a gift, not sure who supplied it. The battery is shot, I think he wants an upgrade. He could definately use your expertise! Thanks!

Thanks Rick...I always love COUPONS!!!!! That just leaves me more money to spend on myself! Gosh, that makes me sound like such a woman! LOL I will be sure to check for a coupon, discount or sale!!! I really love those words!!!

As to my top 3 choices: I have narrowed down the field of options to the V2, Smokeless Image(Volt), and Vapor4life. I do seem to be able to get a girly color choice through any of them, they all seem to have a fairly decent start up system for what I really need and want for now. I think the volt does have the sealed automatic. I will be making my choice this weekend and placing my order before Monday!

Vapoor,

Thanks so much for the info on the juice. I will continue to look into juices after I order my kit. Now I think I have I better idea of what ratio I should be looking at. There is just so much information out there...this is all so new, confusing and yet so amazing at the same time! I am really excited about getting my kit and trying all the crazy flavors!!! I would have quit smoking years ago if it really didn't have such a calming effect on me, that and I really enjoy it!

I have looked into Northwest Vapors LLC. They are not extremely far, but there are shops in Portland that are closer that do carry the ego, and other products if and when I want to upgrade. There are a lot of shops around here locally that also carry juice. So, I think I am going to be okay if I run out of anything before an order I place gets here, I can pick something up locally to carry me over! I am going to start out small when I order; nothing more than 2 to 3 flavors. I will get a sample pack if I can! LOL

I have tried to pay attention to everything everyone has mentioned! I really appreciate all the advice. I am down to my 3 choice...V2, Vapor4life, and Volt from Smokeless Image. There are things I like about each of them. That is why I am having such a hard time deciding which one to go with. Will be making my mind up before Monday!

I finally figured out what i got (after spending several hrs comparing images). It is a eGo-T Variable Voltage 900mAh Mini Kit. The silicone button sure sucks. Now i got to look for something more durable. Any advise ?

Sorry...I still haven't chosen my first kit yet! I really don't know. The ego-T is an upgrade from the models I am looking at...that is why I put out note to the super helpers who helped me. I see you have already made your 5 post...you can start your own Post where more experienced users might see it and be able to help you more. That is the only suggestion I really can make since I just don't know anything about upgrading yet. I didn't research those models in depth. Good Luck to you!

Okay So I do have one last question I am hoping someone can help with. If the batteries are all KR808D-1.....Can I buy carto's/blanks from any supplier or will I have to get an adaptor? I have narrowed down my choices to Vapor4life or SI Volt. I hope this information will help me choose between these two for my kit! Thanks again!!

Well you can buy them from any supplier - any supplier that sells 808 cartos. Again, they tend to be costlier than 510 cartos due to the lower popularity and you will find fewer 808 options.

Beyond that if you want to use 510 cartos you will need to get 808 battery to 510 adapters. They come in a plain chrome finish and the short version will add a 3/8" band of chrome between your battery and the carto. Check accessory or adapter links on the sites you are looking at - they should be under a category like that.

:

You will need an adapter to use 510 goodies. If you don't find an adapter on the site where you purchase your batteries Vapor Kings sells one, DSE901 or KR808D-1 battery to Joye 510 atomizer conversion adapter (Silver finish). I've ordered from Vapor Kings and am well pleased. They answer emails promptly and ship very quickly. Also, they have ECF forum. Use the coupon code ECF for a 5% discount.

Rick,

Thanks once again for more information. So good to know I can I adapt to order from other suppliers if I want to! Thanks for all your help!
I know I am not making the "popular" choice to start out with, but I have to have the girly factor to make me happy! I can get my 2 piece in a pink or purple with a jewel tip in either of these models for some bling! That's girly factor enough for me...LOL other than that it does actually meet my other requirements for now. Who knows maybe I will upgrade in the future? :p

peraspera,

Thank you so much for the link on Vapor Kings. When I order my kit, I will be sure to get myself an 510 adapter as well. I really appreciate all the help everyone has given me so far. If I had not found EFC, I would still be searching and comparing sites on the internet and being so darn confused! I am so looking forward to being analog free!!! The people in this forum Rock!!!:p

You should get a Joyetech 510-T kit. It has everything you want/need. It is sized like a cigarette, comes with multiple automatic batteries and is simple to use. The 510 is one of the most interchangeable ecigs on the market. It also comes in pink off of zeecigs. com

Info, info and MORE info, im in DEEP research mode, but committed to this. My lungs have had enough and my upcoming birthday is my planned analog quit date. You directing me to zeecigs was AWESOME thank you soooo much, I FINALLY understand the difference between the 510 and tanks and how to fill and what a pcc is!!! Those videos were so incredibly helpful, I want the ultimate kit ut the $200 price tage has me on pause, but they actually give you the tanks and the other ones and that seems awesome. I dont like the 12mg nicotine level so Id have to order eJuice. OHhhhh and I finally understand the diff between manual and automatic. I thought for sure I wanted auto but now i FINALLY get why manual is better, well really best. ANd the only way to go. I am not committed to color or girly looks, it doesnt even have to look or feel like an anlog. I just want to quit smoking. And I want what I use to keep me from going back. Im okay with nicotine. Im not okay with COPD.

Thanks again for everyone who helps us newbies. I wont post a new thread because I know my answer is here buried in other posts by newbies, i just have to keep reading and reading. I just have to place an order soon! SO I can keep my 9/27 switch date!:blush:

Well I have gone to recommending the Got Vapes ego starter kits. I have used some of the 510-t units and they are great. The reason I recomend these kits is functionality. 1000 mA or go with this one 400 mA mini. Both have the same clearomizer that is rebuild able and upgradeable. I have just recently gotten two people on to the 400 mA ones and they love them. Since they are both women they wanted the smaller battery handle.
