Thanks for the link!

OK, so matters have improved after giving the clearos a good vodka/water rinse; I think I must have been getting bit of a plastic taste from them. I hated to dump out 2 mils of juice but live and learn.

So here are my initial impressions:

Litehouse (bottled 1/2013): Tastes a little better now but still weird, kind of soapy/perfumey, not like tobacco at all. I'll leave the cap off the bottle and come back to it in a couple of days.

Gold (bottled 7/2013): Creamy, smooth, a little sweet, very subtle flavor - maybe a hint of marshmallow and roasted nuts. It didn't knock my socks off but it's nice, I could see it growing on me over time.

Excellent vapor production from both liquids.

I have Litehouse from that same run and mine is VERY tobacco-tasting. In fact, that's all it is. YUM! Litehouse is one that for sure needs to steep, but I'm thinking 9 months should have done it, lol

After letting it air out overnight, I can taste the tobacco in Litehouse now but there's still this very strong perfume taste riding on top of it and that just ruins it for me. The bottle is still sitting at home with the cap off so, I hope, whatever's causing that taste can evaporate eventually. I want to like this juice because I dig tobacco flavors and Litecig is blowing it out at 10 bucks per bottle, but I just don't find it vapable as it is right now.

As for Gold, I get plenty of flavor from it; what I meant by "subtle" is that it's smooth rather than bold, and the flavors don't really jump out and identify themselves. The overall effect is very creamy, almost like sweetened condensed milk with a little bit of flavoring in it. I'm on my 3rd or 4th mil now and it is starting to grow on me.

I did wash the atty before I used it; I just had some trouble with juice getting in my mouth and leaking out the sides. I don't think this atomizer (standard 510 type) is really meant to be used on its own for dripping, so I'm gonna get something different, maybe a Smotktech RDA.

I gotta say, one thing I really like about NLV vs. other brands I've tried is that it qives me more vapor from a shorter drag. Not only is this good for battery life, but it feels more natural to me since I was never one to suck on a cigarette for five seconds straight.

PS: I actually detect a tiny trace of that same "perfume" in Gold, which makes me wonder if Litehouse was not pre-steeped.

Hmmm... Anyone tried Fruit in 6mg? This could be a good evening vape for me. (I vape 6mg after 9PM to avoid restlessness and weird dreams).

Not in 6, but I have it in 12 (next order will be 6) ... I personally really enjoy it, the 3 flavors are very well balanced. I tend to like it in a dripper to get more "treble" out of it.

I almost spit Dew on my laptop!!!

I know!! That was the best part!! Nightmares are just like REALLY good horror movies to me, though.

I've seen a patient rub a Fentanyl patch so hard trying to get it to release more medicine that I thought it was going to catch fire. Maybe you're just doing it wrong, lol

UV Salty Watermelon Vodka, Oh my God! What a combo that would be!

oh god the fentanyl. i saw an Intervention episode or somehting like that where some desparate addict was straight up EATING the crap from inside the patch. yowza.

the Salty Watermelon UV is pretty good. i raged a bit too much of that (and everything else) on this past 4th of July.

G'morning psychics...

Scope, you got your wish! How cool is that! Fruit3 is such a great vape. It even appeals to those that typically say they don't care for fruit flavors in vaping.

Vapo, I'm a little stumped. After a couple of years of vaping all of NLV's vliquids, I have never once sensed that perfumy taste you're describing. I am familiar with it, but from other liquids, not ever NLV. I like your idea of leaving it capless for awhile to see if that helps. Litehouse is absolutely tobacco-y and hopefully soon you'll be able to vape it and enjoy it.

Gold
, :)wub:) will definitely grow on you! And yes, it's a gorgeous mix of flavors where none are easily identifiable.

I sort of giggled at your comment about a 510 atty (standard/shelf/retro/non-rebuildable... what ARE we calling them!) not being meant to be used for dripping. I started vaping with a 510 starter kit that came with only an atomizer, and I direct dripped for one year straight before ever even filling a carto! :D From what you described, the atty was over-filled. Also, you might want to experiment with using a longer drip tip.

I adore the PG/VG ratio in NLV's mixes. I agree that the vapor production is exactly where I like it to be, as well as the throat hit, and of course, the flavor. I'm also a short dragger.

Ok, I'm just short. :p

Already ordered. ;-)

I added in a sample size of Vanilla Strait as I've been curious to try that one.

In between tanks of Gold (yes, it's growing on me) I keep pulling out this clearo of Litehouse to try to put my finger on that weird flavor. It's kinda floral... or maybe it's alcohol... I dunno. I just wish it would go away because I can tell there's a nice tobacco flavor lurking beneath it.

In other news, I just ordered a Smoktech RDA and a bottle of Harbor Nite :D

im liking that Other News! i suggest to bless that Smok RDA with GOLD :) the growth will be exponential if i had to guess. if you per chance have any cartos, i suggest to load one up with Gold. i suspect youll get a truer flavor with that. its been a while since ive had gold in a clearo and if i recall correctly, the flavor was indeed muted.

for the Litehouse, you might notice that the floral aspect diminishes over time. ive never gotten the floral vibe from any NLV but i have gotten it from other tobaccos. and for those other tobaccos, it has indeed diminished over time.

So I've been thinking...

It might be that the issues you are having with the 2 NLV vliquids have more to do with hardware than with software.

You are using a clearo, right? The atty didn't work out for you (yet). Could be that the coil just isn't ab-fab hon, or there is a wicking issue. I've used a lot of clearo tank devices and always always always come back to a carto tank. Taste wise for me, there is just no comparison. I know the clearos are a whole lot easier to set up, but I find that the coils suffer in many instances. And, often they need a much longer break in period than a carto does.

Do you have alternate set ups you might try in lieu of the clearo?
