Well why dont you test it out. After some googling, the diy methods for herbs seems really crude. Its really basic, for instance putting a jar in a bucket of icewater instead of a slow cooker. The alcohol extraction seems better if you don't wanna use equiptment but I don't know how I'd vape it with the extracted oils and whatnot.

wjb10776 I have been using that process exclusively for my NETs.

Get your large container ready, I use a saved Wizard Labs 250ml nic bottle with a child proof cap. I recommend this kind of thing because it is loose tobacco with a mix of vg/pg so the cap is just a good idea. The bottle is due to the thickness of the walls and also because it is a dark black bottle.

Now I personally haven't got enough vg or pg in it to make 250 ml of flavoring, maybe half that. PG works faster than straight VG. It took about two weeks to get basic flavor and coloring, a month and longer really brought out the depth of the juice.

Get your liquid in there with your tobacco and shake it a bit. Please don't grind the tobacco into a powder, just let it float as is. You don't want to have to get overly serious with cleaning that out so keep that in mind if you're on a budget like me :)

That's all I do, just put it up out of harm's way (ie my cats or grandsons). Cartomizers work to a point. Two, maybe three refills. I just got a rba, and I now see why others have done it this way. Just...mmmmm. :thumb:

Hope this helps out. Enjoy your flavors, they will smell and taste like they do in the pouch or tin. Be careful and responsible though. Don't use leftover butts or in cigs. Others have found it's not an enjoyable taste.

Happy waiting lol

Crock pot is but one way. Any glass jar ON LOW HEAT in a saucepan of water will do fine, or a Pyrex measuring cup if you have one. I used just enough PG to cover the dry tobacco, heated it for a couple hours then let it cool for a couple more. With 4oz of PG, I netted about 2.5oz of filtered NET. The tobacco flavor is so strong, it can only be mixed up to about 30% of the juice. So, with half a day investment, you have enough NET to last for months.

After almost two weeks of a cold soak in PG, I had to pull off a sample. Wonderful amber color and great aroma. Mixed a small test bottle and tried fresh. Great flavor! I'm going to let it soak a couple more weeks as I am in no hurry but think I am sold on the cold method.

With the crock-pot method, my extracts are very dark, hard to filter, and have somewhat of a "cooked" flavor. Preliminarily, a slow cold soak appears to produce a cleaner extract with a cleaner taste.
