Welcome to the club! Look at people's collections.. We are all seeking that perfect setup. What are your likes/dislikes in what you have? What is your budget? What is the level of tinkering you would like?

There is a broad range of gear out there, and 'perfect' is subjective.

Personally, I stopped using the eGo batteries a couple of weeks in to vaping. I found that I wanted more control, more power, more room to tinker. I now have a basic variable voltage/wattage device (Itaste MVP), a mechanical mod (Kamry K100) and an Advanced VV/VW on the way (Sigelei Z Max Mini). I haven't touched my eGo batteries since I got the Itaste.

For toppers, I have Bottom Coil (ProTank2), Genesis RBA (AGA T2) and an RDA (Igo L).. they all have their place, and so far for me, dripping has been my favorite... then again, I have been having a blast tinkering... building coils, trying different wattages, and really seeking the perfect vape... and there are more toppers on my list of wants.

So... in answer to the question that was not really asked... The perfect setup is different for everyone!

Like what spawnsharks said, it's very hard to find a "perfect" set-up. There's always something more you'll want. I got a Provari for Christmas in 2012. Haven't put it down or touched any of my other ecigs (Lavatube) since I got it. I've been using a Pro Tank 2 for a few months, before that I was just using 3 ohm atties and dripping as it was very cheap.

I've also started to DIY most of my nicquid --- I'm on a VERY tight budget at the moment, however I'm soon going to be getting a job that will triple my current pay (YAY ME!) -- but right now I'm very budget-oriented and I cannot tinker as much as I like.

In fact, the only tinkering I do with anything is rebuilding coils and DIYing nicquids.

A RDA (Rebuildable Drip Atty) has given me great results as far as flavor and vapor production. They aren't the most convenient for on-the-go vaping, however. My personal favorite for that role is a Kayfun Lite Plus. The flavor is just as good as the RDA (if not better), although the clouds aren't quite as full. It holds 4.5ml of juice and doesn't leak.

Ok its been a month since I touched an analog! I have a criss cross battery, and an e-go c- twist (although the hubby uses it more than me! ) and I have a kanger mini pro tank 2, a vivi nova (apparently a knock off) and a cheap ce4 or 5 stardust

I'm sorry, I don't know what a criss cross battery is. So, I can't advise you there. I would, however suggest getting more Twist or Spinner batteries. They're good basic VV batteries. Do you really only have one battery for each of you?! That'll never do!

So far as toppers go, have you tried a carto-tank?

My perfect regulated set up is the Provari toped with the Flash-e-Vapor V2, my perfect straight Mechanical set up is the Origin toped with the Aqua with a .5 ohm build, my perfect Mechanical Kicked setup is the Nemesis with the Evolv Kick 2 topped with the Russian or the Flashi Kicked at 15 watts. All containing one of my custom made DIY blends.

Everyone is going to have different ideas as far as the perfect set up. For me, I like dripping while relaxing on the couch but prefer a tank for bedtime and out and about vaping. Some people swear on mech mods, some will promise the best vape on a high end fixed mod. But honestly it all boils down to personal preference. I will send you good luck on finding your set up.

Greetings natyfern, welcome to ECF.

You'll get a huge step up in your vaping if you get an APV -- using one of these advanced batteries even with your current clearomizers will take you to the next level. There are lots of popular models you can read about on ECF, like the Innokin MVP or VV V3, the CID, the ZMax or the Vamo. The Innokins are particularly worth checking out due to reliability and ease of use. Whereas with most most APVs, you'll also need to buy batteries and a charger, these two Innokin models can be recharged via a USB mini-plug.

There's a good ECF blog explaining APVs: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-10-advancing-up-vaping-ladder-egos-mods.html

Hello natyfern, welcome to ECF and Vaping. It is my opinion you've made a Great Choice in Vaping over Smoking.
There are several variables in what equipment is right for you. Lifestyle and Budget are considerations.
I am a Trucker by trade, have been for a while. Big Trucks ride rough. Also, I've been hauling Flat Bed Trailers fo over a decade: Loading. unloading, climbing, chaining, strapping, tarping- all part of my day. Vey depressing when a VV eGo and clearomizer fall out of your shirt pocket onto concrete and goes 'Crrack" when you're two days out and 500 miles from home. Since durability is a Major concern fo me, I chose REOS Mods.
However, if your day doesn't include Labor similar to climbing over trucks, trailers, lumber and steel- There are many who truly enjoy the ProVari from ProVape. A well built battery tube Mod with advanced circuitry, the ProVari has a faithful following in the Vaping Community.
Keep in mind these options, including batteries, chargers, and attatchments (cartos, clearos, RBA's) will run in excess of $200. If you are not ready fo that kind of investment, JoyeTech eGo Products are nice. Kamry makes a K100 mechanical for under $50, and Innokin makes several mods for under $100. The KSD Vamo is also a popular Mod for under $100.
My best advice- Take your Time, do research, and decide for yourself. Rushing into 'I want THIS !' decisions can get expensive, which many of us have done.
Congrats on one month Smoke Free ! Keep it up !

The first clearomizer I had was a kanger t2. It worked perfectly and it was a warmer vape. It's a top coil clearo, I don't know if it's comparable to the vivi nova in terms of warmth. But I do recall it being the warmest tank I've had. It also had great flavor. They should be relatively inexpensive if you wanna give one a shot. But my first setup was an ego twist and one of them and it worked just fine.

Honestly, for a fill-and-go setup, in my opinion the Aspire bottom dual coil tanks have probably the warmest, richest vapor of the lot, and of the ones that I've tried, seem to be more forgiving in terms of voltage applied.

Discount Vapers has them for pretty cheap, and they also carry the replacement coils for the lowest price I've seen outside of a co-op buy.

I think I have recently found MY perfect setup....

It starts with my MVP V2 set at 6.5 Watts
on top is a Boge, yes Boge, F16 Cartotank, with a Boge XL LR dual punched Carto
Filled with a DIY Pina Colada (Capella's) 65/35 (PG/VG) at 15% flavor

Still trying to find a 2nd best using my Vamo/ Spinner/ Ego/ Protank/ CE-5/ Vivi/Drunker/ RDA and countless other flavors/ blends/ wicks/ wires etc...

I do like an Evod filled with Alien Visions, Bee's Knees.

Gorilla Juice in the Octopus

IB Tanked with my Vanilla melon Blast.....
