Looking for very pure USP PG

I'm going to echo glassmanoak for the most part. Something is very, very, wrong. It is possible your PG is PG400 (Polyethylene Glycol). PG400 is supposedly safer than regular PG, but has a stale taste. I have not been able to find anyone who uses PG400 (on purpose). If your PG is actually PG400, it is completely safe and may be salvaged with the right flavor.

As far as your VG not providing much vapor, that is extremely suspect. I would trash this immediately. Even though it "has a pleasant sweet taste," it does not act the way VG should.

You hit the nail right on the head. There are just too many things just "off" to make me suspicious too. I don't know if you spent too much to just dump it, but I'd be tempted to start over with purchases from a reputable source. To me, the consistency of having a good source is worth it.

PS Is your VG extremely thick?
