It can be done, yes. There are LOADS of vids on you tube. But carto's are disposable, not intended to be cleaned. The boiling method will take the ink color from the wrap, and put it into your batting...then you have to dry it....Im just not interested. Or taking it apart..bleh. But for those that seek to do so, their are plenty of how to vids available.

I have to tell you, I've watched every video- tried everything recommend-

They taste like crap when you do. That's my experience, maybe you'll have better luck.

I tried cleaning them with a syringe, putting them in the oven to dry. Even after a week they taste like your vaping a soggy paper towel.

I'm in the same boat, waiting for new ones to arrive.

I just put the dirty ones in a bowl that has very hot water in it (water heated in microwave). If I have one that contained something really intense like Atomic Cinnacide, I wash that one separately and reuse it for Atomic cinnacide. There is no way the taste of fireball is ever going to come out of that carto! :)

Then after the water cools, I transfer them to a fresh bowl of hot water. I repeat this about 3 times total, then I give them a good flush under some hot running water. After cleaning, I just spread them out on a paper towel and let them air dry for a few days. Then I put them in a plastic baggie so I know that they are clean. This seems to work and they are clean and usuable again. One thing is that after you've washed them 3-4 times, they don't seem to work as well as a fresh new one. I also worry about bacteria and sanitation. I don't actually boil them so I do worry that there could be some bacteria lurking in the filtering. The BOGE 510 cartos seem to wash the best. My 808 cartos sometimes retain a bad (or burnt) taste after cleaning.

It's a pain and I'm considering buying a large quantity of them from China, so I don't even have to bother washing them. I'm also still trying to decide what my everyday vapes will be. I've got about 30 flavors now that I'm rotating back and forth with. It would be much easier to keep track of cartos if I had 5 favorite flavors that I vaped 90% of the time. Then I could just deal with a 5 pack of cartos a week and dump them when they need a cleaning.

Just out of curiosity, where can one purchase carts and cartos in bulk from China? I am just getting the hang of the US vendors.

only have cartos from V4L. Using 808d style. Have got my parents on them also(both have been smoking since before my inception). My father has not had an analog in 1 week it has been almost 2 for me. One of the best decions I have ever made. Menthol smoker....any suggestions on good flavors to try?

Congrats! :) It's great that you've gotten your parents to use the ecigs too. I don't smoke methol, but I've heard that the Wowboy Menthol from V4L is really good. My favorite V4L prefilled carts are Pineapple, Coffee (the regular one, not the cappucino), Melon and Peppermint. Grape is good as well. Razzwow is okay too. I didn't like the prefilled apple, mango or banana. V4L has great sampler packs of prefilled cartos so you can try different flavors before you commit to a 5 pack. I know that they have a menthol tobacco sampler with 5 different flavors. I bought a bunch of the samplers to try out some and found some good ones and ones I really disliked.

Where they list the suppliers (each supplier has their own board) on the forum, there are several Chinese vendors like Eastmall. They list the location of the company under their name. Chinese companies will say CN or CHINA under them. If you buy in bulk, you can get the prices down to about 80 cents per carto plus shipping. It takes a while for shipping so its best to use them for long term stock up orders. I haven't researched which one I plan to buy from yet, but I'm hoping to find a company that sells BOGE 510 carts. I've had the most satisfaction with the BOGE cartos.

I have a hard time recommending that the US suppliers be circumvented. It can be done, yes, but you risk getting your goods taken by customs, and their are plenty of vendors here in the states that would be more than happy for the business. Also, when buying from china, should you have issues..your stuck..and when you see the postage to return even 5 cartos...OUCH!..But the manufacturers dont care to do small orders either. So, keep eyes peeled for possible co-ops in the classified section, or find a reasonably priced vendor here and find your swing of things. Their are value in these cartos. Even if ya go through a 5 pack a week...whats 10 bucks to what you were dropping on analogs?..sorry, just my 2 cents.

As I was waiting for some replies I took a look at some of the sites in China. Yes, one can save a bit of money. However, to make it worthwhile it would need to be a big order and, as you said, it may not make it into the U.S. or a return of defective product will negate any small savings that might be had. Also, a U.S. vendor will exchange defective products in most cases. So, I had already decided to keep using the U.S. sites. Thanks for the info.

You are right!! My friend recently bought a supply from China. I dont know the supplier right off. When he FINALLY recieved his order after 3.5 weeks, there was nothing in the boxes. No kit, No cartos, No nuthin.. Im thinkin that customs is siezing all incoming E-cig gear from China with the FDA. I actually saw it on the news the other night. If it were not for that, I wud assume that he just got ripped off. Anyway, lets just play it safe and stay in the USA, at least then you have a garantee and customer service and ur buisiness is greatly appreciated. Just a lil FYI guys..

I only use cartos and have tried many of the cleaning methods out there. None of them
help that much to me. Yes, it might get a particular flavor out but it does not help with
the "draw" aspect. I find that new cartos are easier on the draw and by day 4, it feels
like I am having to suck a golfball thru a garden hose to get vapor into my mouth.
So 4 days use and I chunk them.
At $1.50 basic price (Boges the ONLY one I use), times 2, plus juice, I'm still under $10
a week.
So, no real cleaning for me.
On accasion if I vape chocolate (clogs up cartos real fast) I may take a little PGA (Everclear)
and rinse out, just to wash a little chocolate out and resue it, but again, the draw factor
(hard) really isn't much better even when I do that.

I cant seem to get the taste completely out of mu cartos, so I boil them, then rinse, then let dry over night. Ive never had a problem with the draw at all. But I do use all my cartos with designated flavors, like only marlbro, redbull and one other favorite flavor. If i try sumn new, i pop open a new carto and designate that carto to that flavor. But ill clean the heck out of a acrto until it just stops working. Im tight as a wedge..Squeezin that green out of a dollar!!

If you want to take your chance on a China vendor that offers BOGE cartos here's one: UnSmoke. Save Money. Smell better.
