I also have a vamo which is what I use and am using right now; I don't have a SID, I've got a sigelei zmax.

Note the vamo is up to version 5 now, plus you can get vamo's in chromes brass (the cheaper version) or stainless steel ($more). Mine is a version 3 which two detachable screw-on tubes on the bottom, and it's the brass version, so altogether it does tend to feel not as solid as my steel zmax, which only has an cap at the bottom.

My vamo can work in short mode using a 18350 instead of 18650 and the tube that you take off the bottom to do that can screw on at the top instead to protect your tank.

It has 3 buttons; the main fire button - which come to think of it is only used to fire and turn on/off the power; then there are the left/right or up/down buttons; the up/down buttons you use to adjust the voltage or power up at anytime; pressing then together activate the menu system. Pressing and holding down the right button displays the ohms; pressing and holding down the left button displays your battery voltage; and I only a week or two discovered from reading here on ecf that continuing to hold down that left button will display/change RMS or Mean !

My zmax on the other hand only has 1 button to do everything, and I think this is the reason I seem to favor the vamo. For somebody who has settled into a perfect vape and everything works most of the time, a 1 button system might be fine, but not for me right now.

My next step was the MVP, I know that this does not answer your ?, but I am making myself take baby steps. The MVP can do a lot within its limitations, and I can say it has unlocked the flavors that I was missing in some juices

I already have an MVP - version 1. I just am looking for a VV mod with replaceable batts so I don't have to be caught with my vape down once the MVP wears out.

The more I look, the more I'm liking the SID.

Just take in mind that if in the future you'll want to use RBA\RDA, the SID (and I think every one-bottom mod) doesn't show the resistance without firing the atomizer.

You can use a ohm meter or multimeter for that, but personally its easier for me to use the mod, and I personally feel better checking the resistance once in a while without giving the atomizer power, but that's just me.

I also vote for Vamo in this price, I'm looking for another device as well and until now I haven't found anything better for this price.

SIL decided she wanted a SID, retuened it for exchange the next morning. Shutting down , miss fires.
The second SID did very similar pinta stuff also. Next day traded it in for a VTR.
Recommendation on SID is run don't walk...
Vamos I own 4 (3 - SS, 1 - AL), 2 - v2, 1 - v3, 1 - v5. The oldest being, a v2, 8 mo old with a flakey fire button but still working. Good solid mods all of them.

Personally after I looked at the different VV/VW mods, that included the Vamo, SID, and MVP, I decided on the Innokin SVD. It felt the most solid. The button felt secure and I went with that. With that in mind, 18650 mode with the SVD is ridiculously long. I keep it in 18350 mode. But I have plans later to get a Provari Mini, so the batteries will be able to be used in both.

Battery life with the 18350 is about 4 hours. And carrying a spare 18350 is really convenient versus the larger 18650.

I guess I'm misunderstanding your reasoning. The MVP has one of the longest lasting batteries available. Are you saying you want a mod with replaceable batteries so that you can replace the batteries when they wear out and stop holding a charge? And you expect that in a sub $50 mod?

Please tell me where to get such a mythical creature. The components in sub $100.00 mods are not designed to last 24/7/365.

If you do only 300 puffs a day, the fire button alone is subjected to over 100,000 presses in a year. That's what I love about the MVP. When the battery dies, then I replace the whole mod because I am not under any false pretense that the materials used are designed to last longer than the battery.

If you are serious about getting a mod that "outlasts" the batteries, you need to stop looking at the $50.00 level and start looking higher. There's a reason most $50.00 mods have a 30 day warranty at best.

You will need to go with a ProVari, Semovar, ZNA, Protovapor, or similar device that is constructed from materials that are designed to last years not months. For example the button on the ProVari has a minimum rating of 5,000,000 presses. This equates to about 45 years of use. The Protovapor and ZNA use similar high quality materials in their builds. Anyone can put something in a stainless steel tube and make it look "tough", but if you have a cheap dime store fire button, or crappy 510 threads, then what good is it?

Now if you are going for a SID or Vamo because you like their looks, or you like the fact that you can have a stable of fully charged batteries to swap out with in case you "forgot" to charge your MVP. Then maybe I'd understand.

But you are chasing unicorns and leprechauns if you expect a $50.00 mod to last the day to day rigors of use for longer than the 1st set of batteries you buy for it.

Both of my SIDs died within 100 days. I love my MVP2, and my alternate/back-up MVP2. About 40-$45

I agree. I have three ProVari's and 2 MVP's. I love my ProVari's for my daily driver, but I love travelling with the MVP. No packing of bunches of batteries and chargers.
