Hey everyone, over the past couple years, I've tried a few freinds' e-cigs, and I enjoy them! A couple weeks ago, I bought a disposable Blu from Walgreens, and while it didn't last that long, I really liked it and it helped me smoke actual cigarettes much less (and allowed me to smoke in my non-smoking residence!)

But I have a more urgent question, to be completely honest! Right now, I'm looking at mainly the Volt, the Halo G6, and the Colibri Nano by ePuffer. Overall, I'm looking for an e-cig that doesn't leak or drip, and is the smallest e-cig for the value (carrying a USB e-cig charger on top of my I-phone USB car charger is no problem for me, as long as it works!), and responsive customer service in case my e-cig has a problem.

Why dont you just skip the starter kits and go directly to the top..... buy a Provari, if you want small, get the mini Provari...

Overall, the Colibri Nano is interesting because it's TINY and it's exactly what I'm looking for in terms of size (the length of, for example, a disposable Blu I had makes it feel very akward for me, both in the hand and socially), but I've read horrible things on here about ePuffer's customer service (and I don't have $30 to waste!). Volt seems to have great reviews by all the pro members on here, and if I order before midnight tonight (which is why this post is so important!), I get a 20% for them! Lastly, I've heard amazing things about the build quality of the Halo G6.

Does anyone have any experiences with these brands (or any alternatives) I may enjoy. Also, does anyone know the length of a Blu Disposable? The Disposable was just a bit too long for my tastes, wondering if the Volt or G6 is longer or shorter (they're both 105mm). The Nano is 85mm I believe. And if there's any alternatives, please share!

P.S. I am truly sorry for posting a 'Which E-Cig?' post, just this 20% discount has me all flustered :2c:

If you dont want to waste money on under performing starter kits just jump to the top! buy a Provari, you want small buy the mini.
No USB charger needed as the battery will last all day.
Dont want leaks? Do what I do, Direct Drip.. for best taste and performance.
Looking for great customer service? Provape is the tops...
Forget about the small e-cigs, you get what you pay for... They suck! Short battery life and weak hits... Go VV/VW or stay home....

I guess my advice, from now on, to anyone out there looking for their first kit - look for the brands that have the best "get 10$ if you post a review on our forum" or "get a 75% discount when you like us on facebook" type of stuff - AND look around on here for the brand's subsection, I got a $10 discount just by posting a "why I quit" story on one of Revolver's threads, it wasn't a contest, it was a "every poster wins" deal. Look for those types of things. Because any start-up or not-so-successful company who is serious about making good products is going to want to put them out there and let people snatch them up.

Revolver was one of those companies to me (Amazing website, amazing customer service and forum response, AMAZING discounts [literally, they give you $5 every time you turn around], they have a fair share of flavors, TONS of accessories and models [tanks, clearomizers, tankomizers, ect ect everything you'd need]and they're endorsed by famous bands like Three Days Grace and Seether.)

With a kit starting at $20 (which goes down to $6 if you did all the discounts I did, and I didn't do them all, I'm saving my one-time 15% code and 20% code for my cartilages but I COULD have gotten that kit down to $3 if I was desperate), you absolutely cannot pass that up. It doesn't matter if all their e-cigs do is light up and blow out thin air, if you're a newbie purchaser, you can't beat paying $3 for an entire kit. $3 (+$5 for shipping) isn't going to kill anyone, no matter how many people scream "Save your money, go with [this] kit!" It just isn't a waste of money no matter how you look at it.

I'm going to have to strongly, but respectfully, disagree with just about everything you wrote here. Just about all the worst e-cigs on the market use that "review us for a discount" tactic. It's like a pyramid scam. Some newbie with no frame of reference except maybe some gas station peice of junk, writes a glowing review or offers a discount code to sucker in some other newbie. By the time the first newbie realizes what a piece O' crap he has, it's too late and the next newbie is writing reviews and offering discounts. And the cycle continues.

To say it "isn't going to kill anyone" is flat wrong. There are plenty of people who get some cheapo e-cig, try it for a week or month, and go right back to smoking because it's a piece of junk. I see these people all the time. They're the ones saying "I tried e-cigs and they're a scam", as they light up their cigarettes. So don't ever think that this is anything but a matter of life and death. I will guarantee you that out of every 10 people who buy a crappy $10 e-cig on your advice, a good half or more of them will go back to smoking and a couple of them will indeed die because of it.

No good e-cig has to rely on an army of newbies suckering in other newbies with no experience, no frame of reference, and nothing to compare their new toy to. No good e-cig company with a good product needs to pay some band for an endorsement. No good comany needs to bribe you to tout their product. People who use a good e-cig recommend them to people because they are good, not to earn brownie points. Every time you talk some newbie into buying a substandard e-cig, you are taking the chance of turning that person off to vaping forever.

No company can make a decent e-cig and practically give it away. They pay big money for that slick website and the endorsements of celebrities. Where do you think that money, and the discount codes, comes from? It comes from the quality of the e-cig. It comes from the juice quality. It comes from the cheap crap batteries they sell.

No company serious about making good products uses, or needs, marketing gimmicks like that. You don't make it up on volume. It's like the old joke about the accountant who reported his company was losing a dollar on each sale. The marketing director patted him on the head and said "Don't worry. Well make it up in volume."

If you advise people to look for brands with the best "get $10 off if you post a review" or "get a discount to like us", you are doing them a disservice. You are setting them up to be burned by all the sleaziest e-cig companies out there. And there are a whole lot of them. Why not advise them to call that 800 number for their "free trial"? Then, it won't cost them anything and they don't even have to write a review.

It DOES matter if all their e-cigs do is light up and blow out thin air. If you are serious about quitting smoking, and not just playing around and trying to look cool, it matters a whole helluva lot. If you want a decent e-cig that will maximize your chance of quitting, and perhaps save your life, you need to realize that it's going to cost you more than $10. If you want a toy to play with, there are a million options for you and you can certainly buy a toy. But don't abuse other peoples trust by trying to talk them into it so you can get your $5 discount. Their life could very well depend on it. Don't play around with other peoples' life and health.

Come back in six or eight months and tell us if you're still not smoking and still using your $10 toy. Meanwhile, think about what you're doing when you dispense such newbie to newbie advice. Contemplate how many people you talked into this toy who are now back smoking, thinking they have given e-cigs a fair try. The only thing worse than newb to newb advice is newb to newb advice prompted by the reward of a discount or rebate.

Having been through the gamut of options over the years, battery life and a thread size that is compatible with the most options is predominant in my mind. A slim sized ecig quickly loses attraction when you are stuck to a charger to vape. I guess that wouldn't be so bad if you had a pocketful of batteries in a PCC to keep you going.

Still, once you get past wanting the ecig to be the size of a cigarette, slightly larger batteries begin to look appealing. Yes, it will look like something other than a cigarette, but people already know you aren't smoking when they can't smell the acrid aroma of smoke!

As this picture shows, there's not that much difference between a slim Joye 510 and an eGo 650mah battery once you decide you want to vape 2 to 3 times as long ( or longer) on a charge. The volt is similar in size. It isn't bad for a slim ecig, but the money might be better spent on something upgradeable.

I started with a Joye 510. It was the best "slim" out there at the time. It did the trick, and I quit smoking instantly, but within a month I had 5 or 6 batteries and I was rotating them constantly. Between all the batteries and the PCC, I spent as much on that 510 as I did for my first real mod with a battery and charger. Would I do it the same way again? Hell no. But like all the other newbies, I had to have a smallish e-cig. At least I didn't fall for some overprice mall junk, or the recommendation of another newbie who was trying to snag a discount for himself. I still have the old 510 around here somewhere. I need to just PIF it out to someone before the batteries die of old age.

Sometihng like the imist will pretty much never leak, i have tried a few simple devices and this one comes out on top for me i think its really great. just make sure you get some of the replacable wicks and give it a good clean and a dry burn every now and again, (a few days will succifice) other than that its hassle free.

I have to disagree that "You will outgrow the cigarette sized units very quickly" - I started with a 65mm from SmokeTip over two years ago -- took the advice that so many here offer to get something bigger and more powerful only to discover that I much prefer the smaller cigarette looking PVs. Everyone is different but I am very happy with my Volt from SmokelessImage.

The best to you!

I am going to have to agree with what Sailorman said. I have no experience with the Revolver, but you say how the reviews for it are excellent. Reviews that are bought and paid for with discounts are not objective. That being said, I couldn't really find anything negative about the company and it doesn't seem to be the same as the crappy free trial scams. However, only a casual smoker would be able to get by on one battery, such as that kit offers. I hope it works out for you, and that the quality is good. Let us know if you are happy with it after you get it :)
