So I've been using an evod for the last couple years and it looks like it's apparently a pretty outdated product. I've been researching the last couple days and I think i've narrowed down my next purchase to be a nautilus mini with a 30w istick. Not looking to sub ohm vape and this seems like pretty recommended combo.

So with my evod, I always had a couple batteries. When one would lose charge, I'd just put on another battery and charge the one that was dead. I see that the isticks have a passthrough, so i can vape while it's charging. Is this considered safe or do you guys think I should just buy 2 isticks and just switch them off when they need to be charged?

Also, if anyone has any other combos or recommendations, I'm happy to hear them. Seems like the cool fire 4 is another good product that fits what I'm looking for, but they don't seem as easy to find as the isticks.

I did that, went from egos to the isticks. Got tired of rotating 3 egos on the charger. I do use them as passtrus, they charge faster than egos. Get the 2A charger or Smart charger. Like the Nautilus also, finally upgraded from cartos just last fall. I found the finish held up much better on the thirty than the forty. The twenty has crappy 510 threads. Have fun!

How did you handle the charging? Did you vape while you charged or did you have multiple isticks to rotate?
You can vape while it's charging. I find these devices with built in power much more manageable than carrying and swapping multiple batteries. A simple USB at your desk and one in the car keeps you going if you need it and since you obviously don't sub ohm you might even get a full day on a single charge.

recommendations where to buy authentic products? Not looking for any cheap battery clones or knockoffs.
Just about anywhere online. The 30watt variety is getting kind of scarce though they can still be found. I moved up to the 40watt just for the larger battery and it's about the same size.

I don't think you can go wrong with the istick 30. I actually have 8 of them. 2 for hubby, the rest for me. I've never used them as a pass through. When one needs charging I just grab another. I also have a 20 and a 40 but the 30 is my favorite. I bought my first ones as soon as they came up for sale and it seems like that was a couple of years ago and they are still going strong.

    ...

The iStick 30W was a Nice Mod. I still have a couple of them. But if I was in the Market to get an iStick, I would get the iStick 40W TC instead for (at least) One Major Reason.

The iStick 40W TC has Stainless Steel 510 Threads and a Spring Loaded 510 Pic.

All my iStick 30W's are still working. But all of their 510 Thread are Pretty Worn Out. They just Didn't come with very good Thread Material.

The iStick 40W TC also has a Temperature Control (TC) mode. Which you may choose to use Now. Or at some point Down the Road.

Good to know. Found a pretty good deal on a 40w istick. Is there much of a difference in size from the 30w to the 40w? I'm using to the little pen style evod batteries, so I'm not looking for a big bulky battery. That's what kind of drew me to the istick 30w.

There Isn't much difference in Size between the iStick 30w and 40w TC. They both are Nice and Compact. And Fit in your hand Very Well.

Looks like the consensus is either the istick 30w or the 40w with the nautilus mini.

Now I just need to figure out if i should buy 1 or 2.
Can't go wrong with the 30 but given their increased rarity (which will only get worse) I'd get the 40 watters. If not for the reasons Zoid mentioned you get a tad more capacity battery too. And much better quality I think.

I have both and after multiple drops of each I can say the 40 fares much better.

I would go with the iStick TC40W because it does TC Mode over the 30W in my humble opinion. But also the iStck Pico is a nice compact MOD with a Baby Beast Tank that you can expand your vaping experience with 2 fold and still use the Nautilus Mini on. Removable battery or USB charging so best sort of both worlds.

I've found that the USB leads and sockets don't cope well with being used in passthrough mode. All the bending and twisting breaks the leads and wears the sockets - I've got 4 USB leads that are now non working. So I'd go for 2 Isticks and the TC40w is the one to go for - I've been using one every day for well over a year and it's still working as good as ever. Hope that helps.

@ribbery guy - If you haven't already ordered from somewhere else:

RockyMountainVapor.com still has their 30% off coupon code active, and free S/H for $14+ purchases. Coupon code is: Turkey. They currently have Eleaf iStick 30W in stock for $35 - 30% = $24.50, the Eleaf iStick 40W TC Kit for the same price, as well as the Eleaf iStick Pico 75W for only $30 - discount = $21! They're a great company with authentic products, wonderful customer service, and fast shipping. I've bought many things from them, and they're always exactly as they should be!

Eleaf/ISmoka Parts : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

They also have the Aspire Nautilus Mini in stock, as well as the BVC coils for it. Can get them there, too, with the 30% off!
