LorAnn Strawberry = Burnt Taste?

Alright, so I made a 10 mL mixture of e-liquid, 90% VG 10% LorAnn Strawberry flavoring. Now, I just got an eGo with a CE4 clearomizer, and upon receiving it in the mail charged it. Once it was fully charged I dropped some of the above liquid into it (About .4 mL) and let them sink down to the bottom. Then I rolled the liquid around the wicks so they were all soaked in it.

I took some hits off of it, and it seems when I draw for a while I get a burnt taste and a super harsh throat kick. The flavor also isn't coming in all that well, but vapor production is great and there's no throat kick if I take shorter draws (Which should be the case because it's just VG and flavoring).

I know the burnt taste and harsh vapor can be a sign of a dead clearomizer and also is the result of vaping with no fluids, but the wicks were (and still are) definitely soaked and I'm constantly rolling the fluids over them.

Because of all that, my next best guess was that it was the flavoring. The last thing I can think of is that there's too much VG so not much liquid is actually getting to the atomizer. Could that be the case?

Ahh, okay, cool, it's not just me! Well it's good to know that it just kind of happens when you start 'em and will eventually go away. Maybe I'll try out a different juice.

The best bet (for me) for testing juices is a regular old cartomizer or simple atomizer, the other stuff is just too finicky to actually determine if the juice is the problem.

You maybe having a wicking problem with the high vg. Try adding a few drops of distilled water to your mix

Good call Dee. That is what I would do first. I think your vg is too high in a clearo. A few drops of water to your mix might do the trick for ya.

Did you add any sweetener? Strawberry tends to be funky w/o a drop or two at least.

You might also at some time try a couple drops of lemon juice. If you have the plastic bottle of "Real Lemon" will work. It makes flavors pop they say. I say it might work for ya. That in place of water will thin it down as well.

Alright, thanks guys, I'll have to try (separately of course) the distilled water and lemon juice. Uhh, what liquid sweeteners would work?

be careful with the lemon juice as it's acidic and can crack/melt your tank....I would only try that in a metal or glass tank not a plastic one.

You may also have a bad coil, It happened to me.I brought it back to the shop and they replaced it for me.
They said you can get a dud now and again..... mass production.

I use lemon juice, a few drops in all my mixes without having any issues
